    Great video once again. Can you make some timing runs of the car and also how it drives. There are not many videos on UA-cam with the 2Ar swap other than Marc.

      Thanks. There aren't any tracks or events near me but if I go down to one I'll be sure to film it. I do plan on eventually measuring the g-forces it pulls sooner or later though.

    How's your bearing holding up? I've gotta change mine in my tc2 and would love to know if going "grease-less" is effective.

      So far everything seems to be okay, there is no input shaft bearng noises as far as i can tell.
      My usage of the car is minimal, so I am not the best person to give you this sort of answer, but Marc has said that after racing his car for a while (which causes accelerated wear to all components), he opened the transmission and saw that the bearing was good.
      With this sort of thing it's binary; there is either enough oilling or their isn't. In this case, there is. Hope this helps.

    I may be undergoing the same process again soon. I don’t have a lot of extra money that the shops want me to spend to fix this. And you and I both know their “fix” is only a reset in this issue. I’ve already had this issue once and spent and ungodly amount of money to just reset it, I’m always lucky when it come to bad luck, because I’m one of those people that had this problem happen again after fixing once. Can you update me how your transmission is doing, does it make any sounds at all now? It’s like I have to educate half these mechanics that this is not a throw out bearing issue but in fact the input shaft. It really does seem like this thing should have a recall due to it being so common.

      First I want to say, im not a mechanic, this is all knowledge I've gotten from others in forums and such, including some info from Marc, who solved this issue. IIRC, the bearing can be replaced ny toyota under warrenty but they wont remove the cover to fix the issue. So no real solution there. As for me, I had noise in the transmission that i noticed getting louder slightly after a few months, and then decided to replace the bearing. Immediately since then, I've had less noise, but not 0. There will always be some sort of internal noise from gear backlash and such. But the fact that over the past year or so, the noise HASN'T gotten worse, tells me the problem is solved. As for mechanics, the only thing that I got them involved with was pulling/pressing the bearing out, since I didnt have those tools. I personally dont trust them with the entire transmission process, especially torque values.

    What about the back seal on the bearing, was that removed also?

    • @abdullahmohieddin
      @abdullahmohieddin  2 роки тому +1

      No, because you need the oil to mostly stay inside it without just passing through it. It will overflow and continue down the input shaft

    Where did you get the bearing I'm in Canada Toyota dealer told me this bearing it's not available

    • @abdullahmohieddin
      @abdullahmohieddin  2 роки тому

      I got it from the US, but was told it was not available in the US or Canada. Apparently they are going into new transmissions rather than being available to buy. Only reason I was able to get it was because I had bought and returned that same bearing a year ago but that dealership didn't ship it back to toyota.

      @@abdullahmohieddinby any chance do you know if this is the input bearing that Toyota had a tsb on I can hear a bearing in the transmission with the clutch depressed spinning around like everybody else with the 2nd gen Tc just making sure before I order

    • @abdullahmohieddin
      @abdullahmohieddin  5 місяців тому

      @Marcuhzz I believe they do have a TSB, but if you are saying the sound is present when the clutch is DEPRESSED then it seems like a throwout bearing issue, as this input shaft bearing noise is only present when the clutch is RELEASED. throwout bearing wear is much more common, and fits your description, so have a look at it it or possibly replace it before ordering the bearing and opening up your transmission.

      Hi. Sorry, I'm no mechanic. If you would like to save money doing this yourself, you can take out the input shaft yourself and have a transmission shop press the new bearing in for a low cost. This is what I did

    Off topic question but can I make 2ar-fe swap into a legit bar smog legal. What you think I need to make it possible? I live in Los Angeles which is possible but I don't know what goes into it.

    • @abdullahmohieddin
      @abdullahmohieddin  2 роки тому +2

      I am not exactly sure what is required but from what I've heard from other people, it may be possible to use the 1arfe header (I believe) as it is the same bolt pattern but places the catalytic converter underneath the engine, which gives space for the header to fit behind the firewall (if dented in a bit). This should make it legal in terms of emissions, as it it from factory. But it's best to contact Marc from his website and he will have this answered for you.

      @@rolldog82 oh yeah. The car already has evap that works for the 2ar, so nothing special there. The stock 2ar unopened does around 205whp, but the torque curve is actually good at low rpms unlike the 2zz.
