    Glad to see this in-depth work on the EB60, and the series in whole, as I’m planning to swap a 2gr/EB60 combo into my mk1. In fact, the engine/trans are literally coming out of the donor tC tomorrow, and the 2gr came out of an ‘06 Avalon middle of last week. I'm glad you did these videos, I will in the future aquire a v6 toyota as a project for a manual swap. A toyota camry looks a whole lot of fun now. Ha ha. A manual Camry V6 would be a lot of fun and you could dig in the parts bin for a 2010-2011 manual I4 to make it relatively easily. Those parts may also work with the next generation but someone would have to check that

    • @FrankensteinMotorworks
      @FrankensteinMotorworks  3 роки тому

      I did consider that. it's certainly a possibility but the risk of introducing damaging metal in the bearing by doing that is a bit higher than i am comfortable with. I think the right thing to do if it ends up being necessary is to make an exit path around the outside of the race that is in the case, just like the other drains in this transmission. You could do it pretty quickly with a dremel or even a file.

    • @FrankensteinMotorworks
      @FrankensteinMotorworks  3 роки тому +2

      That video was for an SW20 (MKII MR2) this is for a ZZW30 (MKIII MR2) The E153 is outright a stronger trans but the EB60 is a much more refined transmission and it is strong enough for a 2GR. So since i did not have to make any mounts for the SW20 i stayed with the E153 there and for the MKIII since i needed to make custom mounts no matter what i went with the more refined transmission.
