Very late reply lol, but the Calvinists were iconoclasts and believed in the regulative principle. Essentially anything that wasn't explicitly in the Bible was strictly forbidden. Whereas the Lutherans wanted to preserve many parts of the ancient church tradition, as long as it wasn't explicitly forbidden by Scripture. If it wasn't mentioned, then it could still be optionally practiced.

@Masaru Kodama This is the reason that i wrote "a union between lutehran and catholic traditions" but as many protestants, especially swedish, I think they're more close to catholicism with this liturgy and tradition, even if the protestant theology. They're like a "via media"

+abcdefgh1688 Of course the liturgy is Catholic, Catholicism is the form of worship that is closest to God in scripture, works, sacrament, and prayer. Catholics do not leave out parts of scripture that other sects seem to ignore, nor books of the bible, for that matter. Catholicism is complete surrender and devotion.
The problem though is Church of Sweden (as a whole body), ECLA and also the Episcopals I Think Believe that the priest in the sacrifice of the mass re-presents Jesus Christ as High priest like Melchizedek, meaning that the Apostolic succession is necessary for a valid eucharist, also that there are 7 sacraments.
@tmaclure3 This is not the mass but a vesper but what you say is correct. However if the service is called anything else than the mass - you can say it is abolished. The word 'mass' is still used in the Scandinavian countries.

Thanks, it is called Det ringer till vila (in Swedish), by 19th century archbishop Johan Olov Wallin.
What is the image on the banner that the women are holding at 2:42? Is it the Virgin Mary?
A Swedish Church full of people!? Sweden is so atheistic its not funny! Yet, this video gives me hope. I am faving it.
The lutheranism is beautiful
No. It's not 😢 NO WAY! Lol.
@@christianorthodoxy4769It is extremely beautiful with lots of iconography
sehr schön!
Grüße aus Deutschland.
Berni
Thanks and God bless! It is a Panasonic DMC-TZ7, which can make movies in HD.
@jojanv They might be singing the liturgy in Latin if it were Catholic, but this is a hymn, thus it is in the native language. However, this isn't a Catholic service anyway, though it's not far off.
Спасибо. Тронуло мое сердце )
How can i injoy this
If i need
How they help
@speaks3703 Well there may be parts in Latin, and even Greek in the liturgy eventhough it is not Catholic, like in "Julnattsmässa i Mariakyrkan 2 - Christmas night mass in the Church of St. Mary 2"
Nice Church and I am Catholic so piece to the 2 sides
I hope that one day we Lutherans will be reinserted into the Catholic Church as long as the Lutheran particulars are respected.
What is the processional song? I really love it!
❤🕆❤🙏📿🌷🌹👋
@UncleAl3 Thanks for the information; I did not know about the origin of the icon on the banner.
beautiful church, there will still know about this beautiful country and these beautiful churches.
I didn't know Lutherans are so Catholic-like! Nice video
It's a knock off"
An interesting banner being carried, the Byzantine icon of Our Lady of the Sign.
It's called Platytera.
Yes it looks very Anglican indeed.
Greetings from a Roman Catholic.
@karpov89 Thanks for the clarification. I really loved watching your video. I wish more Lutheran Churches in the States embraced their Catholic heritage/past.
In fact, in recent times, I've seen more Lutheran Churches here trying to distant themselves from it. One Lutheran Church near my home remains Lutheran but took the name off of the front.
Sad.
@koiny2009 Well the sound of the camera is not perfect....maybe a bit loud in one or two of the verses, but it is also tradition with powerful organ.
@1891serru The Catholics are our friends of course, but High Church is High Church, the expression has its origin within the Anglican Communion.
I don't think there is that strong connection between singing in latin and being high church so Longcaulk is correct.
There needs to be an ordinariate for Lutherans
I just saw it. I have always bought American anyways but, thank you for posting this.
Yes, very often on feast days and high holy days.
It is on the net, I will send it to you
I want to know why do the reformed churches (calvinism) are looking far different of Lutherans?
Very late reply lol, but the Calvinists were iconoclasts and believed in the regulative principle. Essentially anything that wasn't explicitly in the Bible was strictly forbidden. Whereas the Lutherans wanted to preserve many parts of the ancient church tradition, as long as it wasn't explicitly forbidden by Scripture. If it wasn't mentioned, then it could still be optionally practiced.
Beautiful hymn.
Who knows the title of the hymn?
Swedish psalm 512
what is the difference between high church lutheran and anglican high church?
People, this isn't a protestant church, look at description. Is a union between lutheran and catholic traditions, the Swedish Church Union.
@Masaru Kodama "is a movement which began in 20th-century Europe that emphasizes worship practices and doctrines that are similar to those found within both Roman Catholicism and the Anglo-Catholic wing of Anglicanism"
"The mentioned countries, once a part of the Swedish Empire, have more markedly preserved Catholic traditions. "
@Masaru Kodama This is the reason that i wrote "a union between lutehran and catholic traditions" but as many protestants, especially swedish, I think they're more close to catholicism with this liturgy and tradition, even if the protestant theology. They're like a "via media"
@@LuigiFilipeBonvenuto They are in full communion with Church of England as well, the priests and bishops in this video are from "Swedish Church Union", regarding to this association, they had a tight relationship with Anglo-Catholicism in history, and affected by the oxford movement, very interesting.
მშვენიერია ^^
웅장하고 멋있네요
Very beautiful song ! This is Lutheran Church right ? But the liturgy is very catholic ! The church is quiet packed though.. But only less than 4% swedish attend weekly mass right ?
abcdefgh1688 Church of Sweden, I am not sure how many, that depends on where and what church
The Liturgy is Lutheran. Luther retained much of the Mass, just tossed out what wasn't Scriptural.
Answer me please about the hymn
Biskopen ser ut som N. T. Wright. (The bishop looks like N. T. Wright)
I think it is interesting to see the amount of people NOT singing and looking around.
Tourists
I want then name of the first hymn
The problem though is Church of Sweden (as a whole body), ECLA and also the Episcopals I Think Believe that the priest in the sacrifice of the mass re-presents Jesus Christ as High priest like Melchizedek, meaning that the Apostolic succession is necessary for a valid eucharist, also that there are 7 sacraments.
what is the name of the hymn they are singing? It is very nice.
@tmaclure3 This is not the mass but a vesper but what you say is correct. However if the service is called anything else than the mass - you can say it is abolished. The word 'mass' is still used in the Scandinavian countries.
Thank you for the information. Do you know where I could obtain a copy of the sheet music for this hymn?
The hymn is called "Det ringer till vila".
@stpaulphillip I know. I wish my Lutheran parish was like this!
Amen 🙏🙏🙏
What is the name of the hymn at the beginning, and is there an English version of it?
Why irritating?! Well German Lutherans are very influenced by the reformed Church..
@redbrian3655 That was very few.
I like their hats :)
What is the title of the hymn? It's great!
optimatus Det ringer Till Villa
WOw! WHo's the cutie at 01:36?
beautiful!!!!
Does anyone know the name of the hymn they're singing?
@aal49 No idea.
Che assurda strombazzata!
Nice video, but not sure it was good to be filming from the pews so close to other worshipers. I for one would not appreciate a camera stuck in my face. But, that's just me.
When we can see this in church?i mean are they having any spcl day for this.bcs i want to see this live. Can u plz tell me the day and time
What song are they singing?
@koiny2009 What is absurd?! In my channel you have to write in Scandinavian languages, English or German.
I saw this film and will never buy a German car because of it.
The Most Removed Video On UA-cam --- German Cars
YIKES!
this is the anniversary of Luther's protest. How dare you!
Well you are wrong about that. This is a hymn which is written in Swedish and Swedish is the language of Sweden. Had it been Roman catholic it had also been sung in Swedish. Latin is not the language of Sweden although some music can be in Latin.
Some High Church Lutherans believe in Purgatory and the 7 sacraments right?
Is this church part of the Free Synod?
No, Church of Sweden
Sorry I do not understand. Write in English, German, Danish, Norwegian or Swedish.
