Your making great progress on the house its going to be like a Palace when finished such a beautiful country good decent people nice weather (seasonal weather i know but then i like pretty much all sorts weather) the roads in Bulgaria are better than the roads where i currently live and a lot of places i have lived it also looks a great deal cleaner that as well ie not loads of litter on the streets there Anyway loving your channel your videos Stay safe and well Godbless

Looks like it's coming along nicely! We actually ended up looking at a house in your village a couple of weeks ago but the ceilings were so low we couldn't stand up in it 😂 it's a shame because it's so peaceful there! We've looked at a house with terrible damp, one with woodworm and one sold before we could put an offer in so it's going well 😂 we have decided on Bulgaria over Portugal though 😀 and definitely the Veliko Tarnovo area although we looked at one near Popovo do you know much about that area? x
Oh my goodness you should have popped in for a cuppa!!! Yes there are compromises with properties here, we chose the low ceilings as wanted the views, hence why we need our extension 🤣 have to say we don't know Popovo area that well but do what feels right for you.. you'll know when the right one comes along!! I’m sure we’ll find the right one for us 😊 I’m hoping it’s sooner rather than later now the nights are getting colder though 😂 I don’t think I fancy winter in a van here! Yes I’ll have to message you guys on insta or something, it would be lovely to keep in touch, we were worried about making friends closer to our age as most seem to be retired here xx

300 BGN for 1 week worth groceries ? Sorry as a Bulgarian I was a bit shoked. 300 - 400 is usually my month worth groceries in Sofia.

I'm sure it was more than a week's worth....we stocked the freezer with meat and we also have a baby, a dog and 4 cats to feed....plus the strays

Thanks Paul! Currently oak is 1350 bgn a cubic metre. Softwood is 650 bgn a cubic metre. Plywood is non-existent and OSB has tripled in price recently, at 48 bgn 9mm OSB-3
Hi Paul,
I just wanted to add that the above prices are for raw materials.....planed and moulded timber costs a little more- although the quality I've found locally is questionable and only available in softwoods- best to buy raw stock and run it through the machines yourself in my opinion, especially if you're interested in hardwood.
