    Late comer your channel. Here in the UK the preference would be 1.5 mm twin and earth for lighting, 2.5 twin and earth for sockets in a ring main and 4 to 6 mm twin and earth for cooker and heating single feed cable depending on distance from consumer unit / fuse box. Some Bulgarian cable is dodgy. It is worth be getting German cable or bring out English cable with you. Much more consistent and reliable. Shower cable should be minimum 10 mm twin and earth. Hope that helps.👍😃

    Materials are not cheap anymore here in Bulgaria, properties have increased in price A LOT too, all in all everything has increased a lot, I have lived here in Bulgaria for almost 11 years, I came here from Denmark in 2013 and then it was wonderful here, now it is becoming like in other EU countries - expensive, I myself have lost the spark and will return to Denmark at some point.

    • @ourderelictdream
      @ourderelictdream  8 місяців тому +3

      Yes of course prices have increased (worldwide) since we made this video a year ago, however we still find it all relative and much cheaper than our home country and still couldn't be happier to be here ☺️

    • @ourderelictdream
      @ourderelictdream  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
      The only advice I would give, is to stay away from flat wire (I can't think of another way to describe it). It's cheaper than the normal stuff, but has less insulation and gets a bit brittle over time. Other than that product, all else is pretty good, but you get what you pay for.
      Hope this helps 👍

    Do you know roughly how much putting in a septic tank and installing bathroom would cost? The property im.thinking of getting gets water from the well, would it cost me to hook some pipes from the main supply?

    • @ourderelictdream
      @ourderelictdream  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
      A septic tank installation from a specialist company can cost several thousand. We built ours ourselves for much less.
      Bathroom suites can be quite cheap, although you get what you pay for in my opinion.- the same goes for labour.
      You'll need a deep well pump for the well- I'd estimate 500-1000 for a good one.
      Mains water is really dependant on location. Your local Mayor may be able to help with this

    Hello Mate, just seen your video and was wondering what is the costs of hiring labourers on a daily rate ( if you know ), also can you explain if there are any houses that uses a central heating system similar to the UK ? and any idea about indoor toilets , is it common ?

    • @leesparkes1524
      @leesparkes1524 2 роки тому +3

      Hi Mark,
      Thanks for watching. Labour costs really vary depending on the job requirements. When we asked people to come and quote for a job, they have often asked what we are willing to pay, instead of quoting?!? It's a system that I'm not that keen on.
      We have seen houses with central heating systems, though this is more common in the cities. We have electric underfloor heating, use a wood burner and have ac. The most efficient heating systems are pellet burners, but they are not cheap.
      Indoor toilets are definitely a thing here 😊 many older village houses used an outhouse, but this isn't very convenient with modern living...prices of ceramic goods and bathroom products are very cheap here, so not a huge problem to build an internal bathroom.
      Hope this helps

    • @VWApachey
      @VWApachey 2 роки тому +1

      @@leesparkes1524 thanks Lee. Yes, fairly helpful. I don't think that I like their "how much are you willing to pay" pricing approach either 😂😂😂. They are obviously hope that you are going to say a super high price. I would just do the complete opposite on them, lowball them 😁
      I have never been to Bulgaria but after getting priced out on buying a place in Portugal, I got tempted by a house on Ebay with monthly payments and have started to look around and into the possibility of finding a large plot of land with a MASSIVE barn (about 300 m2) and preferably a bungalow.
      Are you aware of anything like in your neck of the woods?

    • @leesparkes1524
      @leesparkes1524 2 роки тому +1

      @@VWApachey yes, the labour scenario is a bit strange...but that has only been my personal experience, I'm sure it isn't like this for everyone.
      We have seen steady rises in prices here also, especially in the smaller villages. Many prices have tripled within the last 6 months in our area.
      I've seen some properties available for a pay monthly contract, but from what I understand locally, is that you are likely to pay a premium for this service.
      My advice for finding a property in the VT area (our municipality), would be to contact our agent idealhomes.bg
      He is honestly the best in our area and we still remain in contact 2 years later.
      As for properties with 300 sqm barns....I think it would be unlikely, but you may find properties with several barns that total 300 sqm...
      The only property in our village for sale is currently on the market for 63,000 Euros and has 4000 sqm of land. One of our previous videos contains the url link.
