I think everyone knew that the family was fucked up in some way. The unpredictable side came with the actions the family was involved in and what they were doing to people the kidnapped. I don't think anyone can say they forsaw that shit.

Callum Johnston lady bird is my favorite film of all time, it means a lot to me. Call me by your name is amazing too it’s spectacular and on the filmmaking aspect might be better but I don’t know why but their is a feeling lady bird gives me that took filmmaking to another level for me. It’s kind of the movie that got me into directing and written since that’s the kinda movies I wanna make.

Coming from 2019, yes I agree when u said lady bird is the movie I’m gonna watch for the rest of my life. Being a senior in high school, in about 7months I’m gonna leave home and attend college. I felt like lady bird the entire time when I was telling my parents I’m gonna leave home a long way for college. Everything is so true and down to earth, I watched lady bird 6times already and I still cried every time when lady bird and her mom say goodbye at the airport😭

    My own list
    1. Dunkirk (the cinematography of this movie is simply FANTASTIC)
    2. Call me by your name ( every scene of this masterpiece is surreal. It is hauntingly beautiful. This movie feels like summer, like a typical summer, like an old sweet remembrance. Luca Guadagnino he managed to show on screen the freshness of each frame, the rawness of the acting....everything felt so authentic. It's magical. It's palpable. Every actor was literally great. Luca has introduced so many visual symbols that give the film the weight of a work of art, in other words it's a fucking art).
    3. The shape of water (it has given me the vibes of those 2007 movies. It's a really good one).
    4. Blade runner 2049 (all those visual effects were absolutely great).
    5. It (a very good remake. Bill Skarsgard did a very good job with the character. Alfred Hitchcock would have cast him in every of his movies).
    6. I, Tonya ( the chemistry between Margot Robbie and Allison Janney was merely fantastic, the mother - daughter relationship was very well portrayed).
    7. Logan (Hugh Jackman gave his last performance as Wolverine and he did a wonderful job).
    8. Wonder woman ( Gal Gadot was great as Wonder Woman, she assumed her role very seriously, and this has felt throughout the movie).
    9. You were never really here (a very smart movie. Joacquin phoenix was the perfect choice for this kind of movie. All those twisted and unexpected scenes have been very well done. Congrats to the lady film director, Lynne Ramsay).
    10. Get out (it was quite original, but it could have been much more than that).
I also enjoyed Atomic Blonde ( I love Charlize Theron and I really loved her tough attitude in this movie ❤)

The first time I watched call me by your name it was Halloween and I had 0 friends who wanted to do anything with me. It was 12 am and I wanted to watch a movie so I watched call me by your name. Then I watched it two more times. I stayed up all night. The way that film makes you feel like one of the characters, makes you feel like you are falling in love mixed with the sleep deprivation was the perfect combination for an incredibly whist full and romantic next day. The first time I watched the scene at the end where Élio is on the phone to Oliver and repeats his name I cried for the feeling of loosing a love I never quite experienced but basically did. The third time I watched it I cried because I realised I would never be able to work with an actor as good as Timothee Chalamet. Call me by your name is incredibly artistic. All the performances are incredible and the slowness in a necessity. If I could cover the walls of my room with every shot in this movie I would because it is so gorgeous.

But not Wonder Woman, that movie is SJW garbage

    • @elenaw8248
      @elenaw8248 6 років тому +1

Just because a movie features a female lead doesn't make it 'SJW garbage.' And the film has a 90% rating on rotten tomatoes. The only reason you don't like it because the guy is the love interest for once, which is something we've had to deal with since the birth of film, and even in 2017 only 29% of movies even have a female lead at all, so if you think that females are 'taking over hollywood' you are sorely mistaken, as we aren't even getting half the representation that you are, so with all due respect sir, just suck it up and enjoy the film.

I love your list. Lady Bird is also my favorite film of 2017. For maybe different reasons. I was Lady Bird in high school. My story with my mother doesn't end well. I so hope Christine's story through life is better. Thanks for this being your #1 as I am a real testament for the relationships in the film. It will be very beloved for years. I'm one of those people that follow Oscar blogs, etc... and the entire argument that Lady Bird was not important (like Darkest Hour) infuriates me. Those formative years for all of us are fucking important and (trust me) can influence lives. Also there is nothing wrong with laughing. Again, thanks.
