I would really enjoy if when you’re saying the movie title you also have where you watched it in one of the corners (Netlfix, Prime video, Blu-ray, etc.) some of the movies you talk about are interesting enough that I’m willing to watch them but not interesting enough that I want to spend he next *shivers* 10 minutes looking for what service the movie is on if any. 11:42 heathers!! i watched this a few hours ago and when heathers popped up i smiled really hard! i first watched heathers when i was only 11 years old. it was the first movie that really made me think and had an impact on me. i’ve seen a fair share of movies with better directing, cinematography and better acting than heathers but it remains one of my favourites because i’ve never resonated with a movie more and it’s just so godamn entertaining also it would be fun to see you review l’amant, jennifer’s body and american horror story !

What is the point of rating everything an A? Like I think it would make more sense if you made you like "A++++" into the only A's and then bump the others down a bit. IMO, C should be the grade for an average movie just like it is in school grades. Just because a movie is average doesn't mean you cannot enjoy it. Movies in general are enjoyable to watch. It just makes the grades have more meaning. Otherwise you become IGN where you shit on some qualities but in the end you give every single game the same score +/-10 out of 100. Edit - I understand that most of these movies are very good, but you cannot tell me that not one of these would be considered simply average in your opinion. I have to actively try to keep my grades reasonable when I do this. Because, at the end of the day I find watching a movie to be an above average experience, and so sometimes my grades will drift up simply because it was more fun than doing any other activity at the time. But the grades should really reflect the movie in comparison to other movies, not other activities. Holy shit, I went way too deep and wrote way too much on a topic that doesn't really matter. Sorry about that.
@@trumpetperson11 I understand, but I love blade runner too much to give it any less then what I did (my second favorite film) :) wasn't really going for anything logical or mathematically correct I just wanted to show my love for it y'know :)

Dude I keep getting burned out when I watch too many movies. In 2019 I had watched 150 movies before May, and had watched like 300 in total that year. This whole year I’ve seen no more than 15 movies. I’ve just been binging Doctor Who.
you are one of my favourite film tubers because of how open you are to films of different genres and cultures. Even if it's not your thing you stay respectful to the artists behind it which is amazing.

i was so hyped when you said bacurau!! bacurau is one of my favourite movies of all time. it's quite fascinating to experience it as a brazilian person and i don't think foreigners can fully understand it, and that's the magic of it. i feel it was crafted with that exact purpose. it was made by brazilians for brazilians and i adore it. the message of decolonizing your mind comes in the plot, the form, the purpose, it's so profound. i'm infatuated with it.
My film recommendations: Oasis: supersonic - a brilliant documentary of one of the most iconic bands of the 90’s The chorus - an extremely optimistic french film with great characters Mission impossible: rogue nation - it is baffling that the 5th film in a series that has been going since the 90’s and based on a show from the 70’s is this good This is not a list specifically for Karsten, it’s just good film recommendations in general.
so happy u watched bacurau!!!!!!!! i never see anyone talking about brazilian films even though they are insanely good.. i’m brazilian and a fan, would love to see you talk more about it!

Captainice Alvarado after more thinking I gave it a 3. I didn’t understand any of it and thought it was pretty useless, but I wasn’t paying super close attention when watching it because of...reasons, so I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt and am going to see it again
Hey Karsten! I love this series and have an idea of how to maybe make it even better. I think it might be a good idea to put the places to stream the movie on the frame with the poster and rating. Thanks and keep up the great work!
eliza hittman teaches at my school! to be honest, i don't love most of her movies, but never rarely sometimes always knocked it out of the park. it took everything that she's good at and gave it a purpose that a lot of her films don't work that hard at. i'm so glad she did it, and i'm devastated that it came out when it did. i think that the theatrical release really could have made some money, especially after her silver bear award in venice.
I don’t know if you have watched it yet, but About Time with Rachel McAdams is a really human rom com. I also would recommend The Fighter and Warrior, two amazing boxing/MMA films with more focus on character, especially Christian Bale in Fighter

SPR surprised me with its camerawork and overall feel of the film - you’re constantly on the verge of asking “wait, what just happened?” and the movie overall looks like it’s from the 2010s Tenet is so good mainly because it’s really complex and me being a fucking a nerd helped with the understanding of the movie. Plain and simple, i love confusing stories.
If you liked Hands on a Hardbody, I would definitely recommend Monrovia, Indiana (Wiseman, 2018). I watched it in one of my documentary film courses last semester, it was a great time.

I only watched its okay to not be okay (Korean drama on Netflix) and it's SOOO good, it has everything you would love about a soap opera but with great storytelling when they explore character's traumas. It's one of my favorite shows so far! It tackles mental health and neurodiversity in a beautiful and bitter way. The actor who plays Sang Tae (often refered as hyung by his brother Gang tae) had the best performance in my opinion! his portrayal of an adult on the spectrum (autistic) is spot on, I definitely recommend you to go binge it! (don't watch the trailer on Netflix, it does not portray the show AT ALL)

Karsten, you should really check out "im thinking of ending things" by Charlie Kaufman based on a novel by the same name. It's a psychological thriller and it screws with your mind like its some sort of child play-thing. The poetry imbedded in this film is, without a doubt very well implemented, from the character dialogues, narration and even how the movie itself was made. I really hope you make a video analysis on this as for some reason this movie flew really below everybody's radar even though it was a netflix release.

I was at the premiere of My Life As a Zucchini (Ma Vie de Courgette) and met the director !
He's a really nice guy ^^ (And yes I enjoyed the movie)

11:42 heathers!! i watched this a few hours ago and when heathers popped up i smiled really hard! i first watched heathers when i was only 11 years old. it was the first movie that really made me think and had an impact on me. i’ve seen a fair share of movies with better directing, cinematography and better acting than heathers but it remains one of my favourites because i’ve never resonated with a movie more and it’s just so godamn entertaining

why’d you rate the host and the handmaiden higher than swiss army man if you prefer swiss army man?
I'm very curious about The Handmaiden. Should I give a chance to watch it 🤔
Minttu Melli I watched a lot of Korean films this month as well, I've started to love New Korean cinema.

@lilmil why
Eternal Sunshine is SS tier for me too haha. Favorite movie and score!
@lilmil no stress. Not everyone's thing :)
@@trumpetperson11 I understand, but I love blade runner too much to give it any less then what I did (my second favorite film) :) wasn't really going for anything logical or mathematically correct I just wanted to show my love for it y'know :)

Harakiri is my third favorite film, I'm glad you gave it a 10/10.
This man has the same rating system as ign
@@sahymakhtar7445 This movie makes me feel like batman.

I have a tradition of watching beetlejuice every year on my birthday, so it was a pleasant surprise that you watched in my birthdays month. Also little shop of horrors and heathers are some of my favorite movies, so yeah

i was so hyped when you said bacurau!! bacurau is one of my favourite movies of all time. it's quite fascinating to experience it as a brazilian person and i don't think foreigners can fully understand it, and that's the magic of it. i feel it was crafted with that exact purpose. it was made by brazilians for brazilians and i adore it. the message of decolonizing your mind comes in the plot, the form, the purpose, it's so profound. i'm infatuated with it.
'Talks about sad emotional movie'
And then I watched HITCH.
My film recommendations:
Oasis: supersonic - a brilliant documentary of one of the most iconic bands of the 90’s
The chorus - an extremely optimistic french film with great characters
Mission impossible: rogue nation - it is baffling that the 5th film in a series that has been going since the 90’s and based on a show from the 70’s is this good
This is not a list specifically for Karsten, it’s just good film recommendations in general.
I love the oasis documentary!
Thanks so much for watching Bacurau. As a brazilian it's super cool to see a movie that represents my country (and my region) get some shine.
so happy u watched bacurau!!!!!!!! i never see anyone talking about brazilian films even though they are insanely good.. i’m brazilian and a fan, would love to see you talk more about it!
The characters of Heathers are also just great. And the way you are not supposed to root for the characters was so cold and I love it.
jaw just dropped when you mentioned you hadn’t seen Heathers. so glad you enjoyed it

I'm so glad you got your palette cleansed with some great movies after watching all the illumination movies. Like yeah, those lows are low, but those highs seem soaring
I watched “A man escaped” in my high school film club almost two years ago and I LOVED IT. I remember only a few bits of it but I know that I thought it was amazing. I’ve definitely have to rewatch it soon.

Why the fuck is joker a 2.5
The replies to this are straight out of r/moviescirclejerk
the fact you gave booksmart more than joker...
Captainice Alvarado after more thinking I gave it a 3. I didn’t understand any of it and thought it was pretty useless, but I wasn’t paying super close attention when watching it because of...reasons, so I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt and am going to see it again
Oh yes I saw Heathers in the thumbnail
Same
Hey Karsten! I love this series and have an idea of how to maybe make it even better. I think it might be a good idea to put the places to stream the movie on the frame with the poster and rating. Thanks and keep up the great work!
I love watching these videos every month because it gives me more movies to add to my ever-growing list of movies I really want to watch.
i'm happy that you liked bacurau, i'm from Brazil and i love your videos it's helping me a lot to practice english.
I don’t understand how these don’t have millions of views! I have watched every one of these twice 😂
some people have a hard time getting into heathers because of the dry humor, im so over the moon you liked it so much
eliza hittman teaches at my school! to be honest, i don't love most of her movies, but never rarely sometimes always knocked it out of the park. it took everything that she's good at and gave it a purpose that a lot of her films don't work that hard at. i'm so glad she did it, and i'm devastated that it came out when it did. i think that the theatrical release really could have made some money, especially after her silver bear award in venice.
The Bling Ring is pretty much the definition of "empty". The Virgin Suicides has a lot more going for it. That comparison seems really wild to me.
I don’t know if you have watched it yet, but About Time with Rachel McAdams is a really human rom com. I also would recommend The Fighter and Warrior, two amazing boxing/MMA films with more focus on character, especially Christian Bale in Fighter
I'm so happy that you've watched Bacurau! It was one of my favorite movies from last year :)
I fucking love your what I’ve watched videos. Thank you so much. I actually find a lot of joy in your videos so thank you!
Makes me happy you seemed to have a great time with these films this month
Keep up the great content! Thank you Karsten for being my inspiration for starting my own movie review channel!
I love these and I hope u never stop making them
I watched mean girls and clueless. Mean girls is very fun, and Clueless is awesome. I have become quite fond of the rich 90s-2000s teenage girl aesthetic.

anyways, tried to catch up on the movies i hadn’t seen before and some of them i wasn’t allowed to see when i was a kid.
SPR surprised me with its camerawork and overall feel of the film - you’re constantly on the verge of asking “wait, what just happened?” and the movie overall looks like it’s from the 2010s
Tenet is so good mainly because it’s really complex and me being a fucking a nerd helped with the understanding
of the movie. Plain and simple, i love confusing stories.
i've been waiting for this for the last 3 days

Well that's obvious, everyone watched Robots, the daily ritual must be obeyed.
Good.
Always look forward to these
Tenet is a blast. 100% recommended. Go to the biggest cinema and you will have a great time.
PLEASE do a Wes Andersson ranking i beg you karsten
I watched a legend pass away. RIP King. Wakanda forever
karsten i’m so happy you enjoyed heathers i would have been heartbroken if you didn’t love it
Literally every time I finish one of your videos I miss the nature sounds that you used to play at the end
You should bring those back
I only watched its okay to not be okay (Korean drama on Netflix) and it's SOOO good, it has everything you would love about a soap opera but with great storytelling when they explore character's traumas.

Its been a year of you making this
