I disagree with the asthma warning. I was on asthma meds and was admitted a number of times into the ER because I couldn’t breathe and required breathing treatments. After taking aspirin, my asthma symptoms were greatly reduced to where I no longer needed asthma meds. The only caveat is that you must not have any allergies to aspirin, which is common sense. I’ve been off the asthma meds for over 15 years. They need to reevaluate NSAID’s for asthma.

At 17:16 you reccomend ondansetron for the nausea caused by po opiods but ondansetron cauaes prolonged qt intervals. Wouldnt that be a concern when opiods slow rhythms down anyway?
I hope science discovers some new form of pain med treatment that actually alleviate discomfort, enhances quality of life. Lowers suffering BUT has none of the negatives that opioids do. (Because I truly believe that all people deserve to have a acceptable option for treatment of discomfort and pain, so a person can have a okay quality of Life 👍🏻)
Acetylcysteine doesn't block acetaminophen, it replenishes glutathione which is antioxidant needed by the liver to break down the toxic intermediate NAPQ produced during acetaminophen metabolism.
I have a question.. I'm confused... We said that NSAIDs both increase the risk of thrombosis and increase the risk of bleeding in risk factors... How can both be possible? I would be very happy if you reply... And thank you for these contents.
You can mitigate drowsiness in opiates by taking caffeine, either a coffee, pop, or low dose jet alert, where you can accurately monitor and control dosage.
hey Mike I saw at 6:07 you said ranitidine was a PPI but I thought it was an H2-receptor antagonist. Do patients on antiplatelet therapy usually get h2 blockers rather than PPI's?
Hey…. Mike…. I just cleared the exam. A huge thanks to you and your team. Your videos are absolutely precise, inclusive, sufficient, attractive, understandable and so helpful. I have already recommended Simple nursing to many and will continue. ❤💝👍🏻👍🏻
Great content. Just 3 things I noticed. Ranitidine is an H2 blocker, not a PPI. About side effect and not calling the physician…if there are standing order yes but if no standing orders you have to call. Last, oxycodone is a short acting opioid. Has to have an extended release or ER behind it or it has to be referred to as OxyContin which is the long acting version of oxycodone.
Doesn't current studies show Tylenol and Ibuprofen can be given together to reduce fever and not in place of. One is every 4-6, one every 6-8. They can be given together every 6 hours, as they work on different parts of the body.
