Graduated BSN in 2010. International graduate papers denied by CA board of nursing. Got discouraged. After 9 years of non medical related job I finally decided to take the test in another state. Got my papers approved. Quit my job. Studied for 3 months. Used many reviewers, one of which is PICMONIC. Passed my NCLEX first try in 2019. Now working as an RN and have to re-subscribe again to refresh my memory. Thanks picmonic!
If you are an international graduate RN don’t waste your time applying for NCLEX in CA because after giving all paperworks that they asked from you and your school. 99% of the time they will just suggest that you go back to school or take LPN test instead. Move to a place who wants your hard work and service. Education cannot be taken away from you! Push forward! Work hard! God will do the rest for you!

I had this kind of cartoon medical terminology class when I took my PCT state exam! I passed it. The visual learning systems are far more exceptional tools, If we could carry these type of teachings in all educational systems! Wow! This would save a chunk of uselessness lecturing! Great video! If you could talk a little slower, especially when you say the medications and side effects, that would be super helpful. I had to repeatedly google things you were saying only to find that it was something different. For us newer nursing students, we don’t know all these fancy med terms yet so please try slowing down and pronouncing words and terms a little slower and more clearly. Thank you. Otherwise, I enjoyed the video and how you organized the info! Very helpful. 😊

In my pharmacology class, my professor said that angioedema is more of a problem with ACE inhibitors and if this occurs they would likely be switched to ARBs. This video says it's the reverse. Just wondering which is more correct so that I have it straight in my head.

      Hey Kristen!
Thank you for your comment! We sent this over to our team of scholars and they stated:
According to Guyer & Banerji (2022), "Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are the leading cause of drug-induced angioedema in the United States because they are so widely prescribed. Patients most commonly present with swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, although another presentation is episodic abdominal pain due to intestinal angioedema. Urticaria and itching are notably absent’. Even though both medication classes can cause angioedema, various studies have shown that there is a greater incidence of angioedema in those who use ACE inhibitors than in those who take ARBS.

Hello, first I would just like to say thank you for you’re content and that you are a very good teacher. I may have asked in the past but I’m going to ask one more time then I am going to apply what you tell me. If an individual is new to nursing has no idea where to start where to begin because it’s so much to know. How can one get a foundation of the necessary most important things they should know to pass nursing school? With picmonic where should the person start to get a basic foundation if they are clueless with no medical nursing background? Is it a certain order to start and end? Whatever you study in picmonic for nursing is it the same for nurse practitioner? I would love to just have some type of blue print to get more understanding so I can know things. Hope to hear from you soon and again thank you for all that you do❤️☺️
