Today was the BIGGEST day of change for Tracy's home. If you're new to the series, Tracy's previous closets were broken and would often fall on her while sleeping. The most recent fall being, "The Great Closet Collapse of December." While I don't recommend buying anything until after the During, we both agreed that this was an essential next step for our work together (especially since these are THE ONLY closets in the entire house). Today is only the rough organization. As we work more together we will continue fine tuning the organization so that it fits her daily life and so that we can categorize things together to make the second pass of decluttering more effective. Enjoy the episode and find her previous episodes here ➡ ua-cam.com/video/dk6R6WHgD0I/v-deo.html

I really wish people would take note of the intro, finishing with "please comment with kindness". Too many judgemental comments with nothing of value to add to this wonderful series. Go Tracy and April, you're both doing a fantastic job!

No matter where you are on the clutter scale this series has something of value for you. Listening to the 'stories' shows you how you need to listen without judgement as a person clears through the things in their life! Props to boyfriend for staying calm as the organization unfolds around him!

I love how Tracy was thinking through how she functions with her stuff. The rummage box for fanny packs, the loungewear unfolded drawer. Those are the details that make this a realistic, sustainable organization.

I am so happy for Tracy's progress. I retired from IKEA and have used PAX wardrobes in every house and apartment I have lived in. I have had many configurations and the wire pull out drawers are the best for organization. I have two wide wardrobes and one narrow one where I have 5 wire baskets high in the bottom of each. Except for where hanging shirts, blouses, pants, skirts, dresses, jackets and coats, I put all under-garments, socks, shorts, loungewear, active-wear, t-shirts and jeans in the drawers. I put sweaters, shoes and purses in the shelves above and have two additional closets for my hanging clothes. I Marie Kondo fold everything and it has been my dream organization method. If you fold consistently, you always see everything you own. I still do a spring/summer, fall/winter switch. Each time I switch, I declutter what was not worn or no longer fits. It is another step in the process, however, if eventually Tracy can turn her hangers backwards and re-evaluate seasonally, she may be able to use this method to let go of even more things that she does not wear. Congrats to you both for all that you have accomplished.

Fantastic job ladies, Tracey if you could further downsize and give your boyfriend the end IKEA wardrobe and totally get ride of the mismatched cupboards that would open that room so beautifully and maybe add a nice rug and full length mirror on the wall with nice soft lighting and candles and plants what a siren room you would have 👍🏼❤️😉🇨🇦

The speed at which Tracy is accomplishing this massive transformation is nothing short of miraculous.
Tracy will find her way, doing what is right for HER & HER PARTNER, under her own steam, with April's expert guidance.
No one else need concern themselves with her next steps. Why bring your own stuff into this process? None of you knows a single thing that can be of any help, because you are not there!!!
I give April ALL THE FLOWERS 🎉🎉🎉 for her delicate yet firm approach, her sensitivity and wisdom, and her joyful celebration of each tiny step forward.
My GOODNESS you guys! Do you not see how incredibly fast this is going?
This is like giving advice to Michaelangelo before he's cut into the first layer of the marble! He KNEW that the marble would tell him what the sculpture would become.
Be patient and LET TRACY & APRIL do the amazing job they are so very capable of!!!
Blessings to all... But really! Advice has not been requested!!! And it obviously is not needed!
      ❤❤❤
Cannot wait for the next video. This is the first time I feel like I want to go back to the first episode and watch all over again because I am THAT inspired by how this is moving forward!

This is huge for her and her partner. This means so much to HIM that he was afraid to have her do things without your input. What a weight this will be off both their shoulders. Glad you helped her make the executive decision about the old sweatpants. Wondering if the upper baskets (on top of the new closet) will eventually be labeled? Love seeing more space being created in the bedroom.

I couldn't wait for today episode! Tracy has come a long way. She seems less anxious than she was in her first couple of videos. She seems to be more in control of her clothes instead of them having control over her. I applaud her cause I'm in the same situation with my closest, hell my house since my husband died year and half ago, and my sister moved in. 😢 Tracy, you, my friend, are awesome! As a southern woman say, I am proud for you. 😊 ❤

Tracy you rock it girl! Love love love the closets! Suggestion: put labels on the lips of all the drawers for all the various rows. I find the more I have labeled it is easier for me to put things back away. Also maybe hang sheets on the inside of the last cabinet that lists all the items in the top storage bins. Everything looks fantastic!!! April when are you coming to my house!! ❤❤❤❤❤

All of the clothes make me feel suffocated. I would have to downsize so that nothing is high up and the drawers are reduced by 1/2..Seeing April's things is the catalyst to downsize my things. Off site climate controlled storage in Minneapolis is inexpensive. ($12 for a 5'x5' with a 4ft high brace on each side topped with a 3/4" piece of plywood makes a 2 level space.) Once things are out of my house it allows for clarity/calmness. Using clear totes 10"×13" 18" deep is helpful. Not too heavy..easy to stack. Too small for some kitchen extras like can pans..artwork/photos in frames..

    • @Joce123
      @Joce123 2 місяці тому

I'm looking at using smaller cookie sheets/cake pans. Currently, I store those things in my oven Since I use my dishwasher as a cupboard for my dishes maybe I can down size that space enough to keep my pizza pan, cake pan, new small cookie sheets?

I am so excited to see how everything is working so well!
When Tracy continues to cull items now that she can see them all, she will continue to stretch those decluttering muscles!
And, when she loses more weight and downsizes her wardrobe even more, she will have even more space than imagined!
Hopefully she will move her boyfriend's clothes in her closets! Then, they can move his closets out and put his table that he loves back in.
The room will be very useful in many ways! And, this investment is going to change their lives more than just offering more clothing storage!
This transformation is one that just keeps giving! I so happy for what has been accomplished. And, I'm anticipating the many blessings that will come from letting go and being free and having space in their minds and hearts as well to allow their relationship to be more abundant!

The evolution of Tracy's spdxe is genuinely impressive. I saw a lot of people saying she's not been getting rid of enough and that the great unhoard was a way to get out if really getting rid of the excess. These comments are deeply unfair: people struggling with a lack of organisation easily accumulate things and decision fatigue is very real. Also she's got a teaser on insta for the great unhoard, which is a very positive sign she's starting to tackle it. She seems much happier and calmer, and decisions come to her a lot more easily now. Also, that apple green jumper really suits her. Well done on your journey, Tracy!

Good closet space is important for any organization situation. Even if she gave away more than half of her clothes, having nowhere to store her wardrobe was a huge roadblock for her and probably was contributing to the clutter more than anything else. If you can't find what you have, oftentimes people end up with doubles and triples of stuff and I am sure that was a struggle for Tracy (I know it's been one for me before!) Glad to see she invested in some nice furniture for herself. Excited to see what comes next for her!

Just one thing from my experience. Drawers are sooo much better than baskets!! A bit more space, and the clothes behave better in them somehow ;D

Again I'll say that is a wonderful room and with that yellow chair in there for a reading nook! I'd spend most of my time right there! Peaceful! I can see Tracy is really enjoying this process....❤

Amazing! Can see so much effort went into this. Would love to see the next update.
As Tracy goes through / purges more and more of her clothes, one of the Pax wardrobes could be converted into a place for cleaning supplies, linen closet, etc. I think it could help to decrease the amount of space dedicated to clothing and get more things in the apartment into the storage closet! Given how deep and grand the storage is, it could be used for so many things! I would also put a rug in that room to help define the space.

Major accomplishment! LOVE, Love, love the walk in closet room, game changer. The new units are a wise investment. Tracy can use all the new ones, right side and boyfriend all the left side It's coming together, hopefully the bedroom can be finished decluttering, tidied up and a calm place for them.

The net drawers are fab, I have them in mine….. I use plastic rectangular baskets in them to organise the stuff in them and have a hanging shelf on the rail for my bags. Also it sets me boundaries for what I can actually have 🤗. I also don’t give myself space anywhere else, so all my winter/summer is in one place and it’s rotated into the storage boxes in my wardrobe and the only things not in my wardrobe is footwear/jackets for the current. I have a shoe shelf with my jacket hooks for day to day, then a covered shoe rack for everything else. It’s amazing to see how far she’s come! Incredible progress 🤗🤗🤗

I am already excited to see, how Tracy will use her creativity to label all the boxes and drawers 🥰
Will she paint? Will she knit little snowflakes and jackets and scarves to attach to the boxes, and sundresses on the other side for summers turn? Who knows!!

Omg I love those closets 😮💛
If it were me I would move the slim bookshelf next to the other bookshelf so the closet door on that side doesn't hit the chair. But it may interfere with opening the main door to the room. Just an idea.
This looks so good and is inspiring me to clean. 😊

Tracy congrats on your progress this far 🎉🎉🎉 That new wardrobe is such a brilliant way for you to enjoy and play with your clothes. I hope you have so much more fun with them as a result!
April I'm going to be helping a family member who also has a massive clothing stash that's they're really attached to quite soon and I'm watching your calm and non-pushy way of helping, it's so good to see it in action.
Thanks both for allowing us to follow your story. Wishing you the very best for the next stages ❤

This is so great! I love seeing how enthusiastic Tracy is, and also how you're both more comfortable with each other now (being comfortable enough to push back on the pilly trousers is a significant milestone 😁).
I am curious - why didn't you use labels for her storage boxes? Since you did have Dani label hers, and these clothing boxes are all identical and so a *lot* more likely to get mixed up (or at least they would be if it were me), I didn't know if it was because this was the first pass of organization, if labels were on order, if it was Tracy's call, or something else. Thanks to both of you for sharing this!
