- Here is an in-depth tutorial for how to edit 3D & 360 degree video in Final Cut Pro. I’ve been using Final Cut for over 10 years and I’m going to share 3 tricks for importing, viewing and setting up 360-degree projects. Then I’ll show how to spice up your video with 3D titles, effects and transitions and at the end of the video I’ll show you how to make that cool tiny planet effect.

Possibly. It depends how much of the video is the videographer. Play around with it

Is there a compatible headset that works with macOS to use to preview in FCP?
Yes. I think most will work but you need to install SteamVR first: support.apple.com/en-us/HT207943
Great Vid! Do you have any tutorials on editing SBS 3D 180? I've been searching for days an can't find ANYTHING. I would gladly pay for a detailed course on how to work with these files and how to add 3D (like, REAL SBS 3D) Titles.

so how do you edit in a vertical timeline if you want it for social media. I only see a 360 option but no option to make it vertical

i found the bitrate of the headsets are so low 360 looks terrible on them

Can you change the settings on your GoPro so the files are compatible without having to go through the GoPro app? Also what do you mean by export from GoPro app?

I want to use a fisheye lens to record my video and edit them to watch them on vr headset as 180 2D video
I have searched UA-cam and Google and I can not find a solution to do it in Final Cut Pro

Currently I’m recording on 360 camera then I remove myself
I’m using insta 360 pro 2 to get 8k footage so I can use 4K in 180 which it’s ok but it’s a very heavy camera and no gimbal to stabilise it while in motion

Are you recording in a supported 360 format? Your 360° media must be formatted for equirectangular projection.
@@StupidRaisins Hi I am using Insta360 Go 2 without the lens protection to give me the 180 field of view and record it on Pro mode
I believe my media is correct but when comes to edit it there is no 180 format on FCP. There is a 360 but when I put it in 360 I don’t know how to fit it into 180 or half of my screen 😢 after I render it become a little circle ⭕️ floating video within 360 black area on my VR headset

@@StupidRaisins I know how to edit 360 videos my issue is making 180 2D videos
So when user watches on VR headset feels that he/she is there
I can crop a 360 to 180 but rest of the space is black
I want to record fisheye full 180 video and display it as 180 video
Eg Insta360 Go 2 records 180 video but I can’t display it as 180
It doesn't sound like FCP supports your vid format.
i cannot import my go pro 360 videos, it disables those files in the view so I am unable to import
Those files are saved in a format FCP can't use so first export the files with the GoPro Player.
This was about 360, NOT really 3D. I find making titles in stereoscopic a bit cumbersome (I duplicate and separate). With practise, I can do it quite quickly now, but I thought this video might help with that. It doesn’t.
