Something you didn't really go over in this video is that you don't have a lengthy recovery if you try to use 2 Wire Steps back to back, its actually extremely fluid. For that reason its possible to dodge an attack with it, and then just swing your self rite back to where you were 1 second ago. 26:40 is a really good example of this. Also slotting in Wind Mantle makes this build just have semi-infinite dodges. Its not even fair really. The hardest part about this build is forgetting that your suppose to actually attack and not just swing around all over the place.
A cool thing about this seems to be that your hitbox for the evade is almost the entire length of your arc. With some evade stuff, you end up evading TOO well and don't pass through an attack and trigger skills. This seems much more reliable at getting skills to trigger.
Worth noting that there is one other evade in the game that works with Status Trigger - the one after a Switch Skill swap. It covers more distance and has far more s than a regular roll. It does require the swap beforehand, though, and no, Redirection does *not* count for Status Trigger etc.
@@lyeoj Oh! One other thing to check - Hellfire Blight! I just tested, and Wire Step *does* drop the little fire puff behind. Usually it's dash-like moves that do this - e.g. Invincible Gambit, the HH move Slide Beat and Lance's Sheathing Retreat all also work to drop the flame, but are *not* dodges. I don't know of any move that's both a dodge AND a dash in terms of triggering both Adrenaline Rush and Hellfire Blight drop aside from Wire Step :o Can ~easily test rage-based things in the 3* hub quest that's in the arena. p.s. Soaring Wyvern Blade does not leave the flame poof behind
@@lyeoj It doesn't quite work the same though, as the initial trigger is technically a counter that then triggers the evade and you can't pick the direction of the evade. So you'd need to hit the swap counter to trigger an evade but then also pass through another attack with the evade to trigger evade-related skills.
One more tip - Wire Step works extremely well with the Hellfire Cloak. You basically dodge out of the way while leaving hellfire behind. It's also reliable way to trigger Coalesence which fits the status build quite well.
as soon as i realized Wire Step proc'd Bladescale, i immediately swapped out the aerial/ZSD playstyle for a more grounded, combo orientated one. now with shit like Status Trigger and Adrenaline Rush... the grounded Swaxe playstyle has been nothing but buffed.

Very good to know!

Ahh, the other skills you tested must also trigger a counter or invulnerability state instead of an evade state.
