The frontman Gerard Way believed that when you die, death comes for you in the form of your fondest memory. That’s why the black parade comes for the patient when he died.
Interesting!! Thank you
@@infin8reactions Yes, Gerard stated that the guy in the video's fondest memory was going to a parade with his father...
This is our generation's Bohemian Rhapsody hands down
Even more than that, This one has a spiritual aspect and very broad view of life. And even to those who don't believe anything, there is this message to carry on dispite of abything...
Gerard way is such a queen
Whenever I hear any Chemical Romance I just lose myself in them. If you want another as you say banger, try Famous Last Words. Its just as powerful as this one. Keep up the reactions man!
Hi Michael, well I've been impressed with both of the MCR songs at the moment, famous last words is next on the list buddy 😁🤘
My chemical romance is pretty amazing, not a bad song in there.
Awesome I'm looking forward to the journey 😀
in this song, the main character--The Patient--is dying of cancer. The Patient's fondest memory was when his father took him to see a marching band as a child, so once he eventually passes away, The Patient is then welcomed into the afterlife by The Black Parade (the dark marching band shown in the music video).
Thank you so much for that input and for watching 😁🤘
Gerard Way once said in a podcast that the "she" in the line "she watches over me" is referring to his (and brother/bassist Mikey's) grandmother, Elena. She passed away prior to the release of their second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. In that album, the first song "Helena" was written about her, in memory of her. It also has a music video so react to that if you haven't! It's so well done
How have I just found your channel? Your reactions are so good. So people who react to MCR, don’t go into the lyric meanings and video meanings and that’s what makes mcr so good, when you understand the meaning and lyrics
Thanks for complimenting my reactions mate, and thanks for watching 😁
Gerard Way (the singer) made a comic book and now a Netflix show called The Umbrella Academy and I also heard that the dying man is actually the boy that was in the movie Witness.
I always loved how they pulled off a dark Sgt. Pepper thing.
wait a minuite... how have i NOT NOTICED THIS
The small part and big message that a lot seem to miss is the banner held up that says "Starved to death in a land of plenty '. That is so poignant in my opinion. I love this song and this band!
Definitely missed that reference lol, but I was so taken aback at how epic this song was that I surely can be forgiven 😁👌
Definitely forgiven. I love watching someone see this video for the first time. Lol it is an experience to watch this masterpiece.
Oh, this song brings me back. This was THE counter-culture anthem for a hot minute when I was younger. Still love it to this day. Also, Jonathan Young did a cover of this one. You should check it out, it's pretty sweet
If you want another my chem song, the most insane ones are either “mama” where a son goes to war, kills people and his mum disowns him and the lyrics are insane. Or cancer, which is powerful and very meaningful lyrics. Liked and subbed 💯
The Black Parade Album tells a story you should react to it in order :)
Oh damn, I've done it in all different order with the songs, if I'd have known that, then I'd have gotten the track list 😁
New sub here. By the way they have a big influence from Queen. You can hear it from the arrangement of the song.
ooh yes that does make sense listening back 😁 thanks for watching and for the sub ☺️
I'm on the younger end of gen z and this song gives me nostalgia for a time that I wasn't even alive for.
Nice! Just subbed, love me some MCR.. takes me back to high school. Check out
Famous Last Words
Helena
Teenagers
I'm not okay
Thanks for the sub! I'm not okay is already on the channel, but I'll deffo do the others 😁🤘
Its the sweet little easter eggs with My Chem....Mikey (the bassist) wears a medal as he "died" in the Ghost Of You vid, Gee's Parade Jacket ends up on a skeleton in the Na Na Na vid cos The Black Parade is Dead....
Oh I've not seen those songs so I wouldn't know lol, thanks tho, I'll keep an eye out 😁🤘
I'm glad you liked it. Not all fans of them are teenagers. I'm 48. Loved them since 2006, because I was late. But I'm pretty hardcore fan so I hope you react to more. My fav is "This is how I disappear " from Mexico live performance since there is no video. But I'm sure you'll get tons of suggestions after this that are in my opinion not flattering to what I know. Super hugs from Sweden.
Oh it was brill, I'm going to work my way through MCR don't worry 😁🤘
57, and a very hardcore fan!
48 and I love Frank Iero (rhythm guitar) more than is normal.
@@shirleypositive1 OMG we may have to compete for who loves him more than is normal. I have an old lady crush on him bigtime.
Petunia 666 And he would LOVE it! Lol
COVID19 killed our MCR getting back together for a FULL on 2020 tour GREATEST summer ever......crap!!!😣💔😵
That sucks!!! I'm sure they will reschedule 😀
i do not own this comment but who has a fetish watching people love my chemical romance songs?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hooray, this got cleared for lift-off! MrAdeist is right, Famous Last Words next, just for the visual continuity. (Then Helena, then Na Na Na, then Sing.)
If you're curious and if you have a LOT of time, Kevin Smith (movie writer/director of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, the Jay and Silent Bob movies, etc) is a huge fan of MCR. He had Gerard and Mikey Way on his podcast for two episodes. In the second one, they break down the Black Parade lyrics line by line and even some of the music too. It's REALLY LONG. Not kidding, the first two notes play and Kevin pauses to talk about it. Just the lyric breakdown is least an hour long and they go off on so many tangents, you wonder if they remember they're doing a lyric analysis. If you (or anyone reading this, no pressure, Lee) want that part, it starts here:
ua-cam.com/video/fIsZrNoGIY8/v-deo.html
Like I predicted it would be lol, I think it's just the you tube algorithm sometimes, but I'll keep reacting and keep disputing and all you wonderful people will get to see the content, I'll definitely check that lyric Break down too 😁 thank you Diane 🤘
@@infin8reactions Seriously, NO PRESSURE. I just wanted to drop in a little present for anyone who's a longtime fan but didn't know about that podcast. Someone will enjoy it, even if you don't find the time.
The lead singer is the creator of The Umbrella Academy...the comic book and Netflix show.
ahh still as good as the first time.
Awesome 😁👌
Dude found your channel during a boring night at work and now I'm hooked. First vid of yours i watched was your reaction to spice girls and just kept watching.
Haha thank you so much!! I appreciate it 😊🙏
Please react to Famous last words next it's my favourite song from them
That is my next MCR song don't worry 😁🤘
I discovered your channel today via Dimash but delighted at how many of your playlists are my favourite artists ..vodka red bull and I will watch more . Thank you for your reactions
I watch a lot of reactions to this particular song/band mostly because i remember falling in love with the music the first time so so fondly, and i want to see if other people do too. All I can say is most people dont understand the song as quickly as this person did, congrats on ya
Wow thank you, I like to try to listen, must be the musician in me 😁
Found it!! Love this song and yes, it is a real "banger" Thanks for the reaction 🔥😁🤘
Oh I loved it too Daphne 😊
@@infin8reactions Hello Daphne. Was just back here having a look at our latest Dooch of the week 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thought I would say Hi
Greeting from the past 🤘🏻😂😂
I think you’re taking it too literally. My interpretation of the black parade is all the misfits of the world, who are basically of us, carrying on and taking care of each other even when we’re broken and defeated. Even the kind of drumroll at the beginning and end of the song is specific to a marching band, symbolizing to keep marching on. I love this song so much.
The entire album is a story about a guy who is dying from cancer and the reason that there are marching drums is because his father took him to see a marching band. the lead singer believes that when we die we see our fondest memory as the last thing we see (marching band), the Black Parade is literally there right as the character dies in the video and the walls around him fall down to reveal he is now in the afterlife and the black parade is there to greet him, just like it greeted every other person walking behind the float when they died.
React to thank you for the venom and you know what they do to guys like us in prison
Appreciate your other stuff, but MCR is an instant Like. 😉
Thank you!! Glad to see these are still being watched after all these years 😁
Will you PLEASE react to DEMONS IMAGINE DRAGONS 🦋🦋
I'll add it to the list 😁
@*S I've seen imaginary dragons in my sleep lol, but no, ain't got a clue 😂😂
fuck a my chemical romance song reaction...do a full album reaction...................automatic 100k viewer video just sayin
Like Queen, MCR has mastered the art of transitions. This is not just a song, it’s an anthem. The whole album is great from start to finish.
Such a great album!! 🤘🤘
Everything I've checked out so far has been brilliant, but I do have a soft spot for famous last words 😁👌
One of my favourite bands! I have only just found your channel through Ren, so many reactions to watch. I'm really looking forward to seeing your opinions on some of my favourite songs. This whole MCR album was fantastic, it all followed the same theme. What I love about MCR, is how theatrical they are. Every song is an experience! 🙂
I just came across your channel thanks to a BTS reaction, I'm so glad to see that you've reacted to My Chemical Romance as well, they're my two favourite bands ever! 💜🖤
I'll surely watch all of your reactions!
Check out interviews from Gerard Way about the meanings of their songs
Thanks Melissa, I will do 😁
Gotta react to My chemical romance - Helena !
The live MTV debut of this song blew me and my friends 13 y/o minds lol
Wow cool! I'll have to check the live version out too 😁
@@infin8reactions I just watched it to see if it holds up haha, it's not the best quality but yeah it's pretty cool still. '06 VMA pre-show on top of a building with a small crowd
@@greenkorn69 oh I shall deffo check it out for sure!!!
Fake your death by MCR
You know My Chemical Romance was the band that discovered Ronnie Radkes first band escape the fate. S
I really didn't know that, thanks 😁👌
Check out Band-Maid. You'll thank yourself.
Thank you, I'll add to the list 🤘
