Great "win - win" situation: the customer is happy with his restored JCB and JCB can educate young mechanics for their JCB factory. And this old machine is a perfect "learning object" for that.
It's hugely rewarding to see a project like this being worked on by young lads and young girls. These engineering newcomers are the future of British manufacturing industry. As UK citizens, we should all be immensely proud of companies like JCB. They remind us that we are still the best at some things.
Lovely to see an iconic bristish company doing a fantastic job and bringing joy to a family, father and husband who now has a JCB named after his wife the family can treasure for a very long time - well done and keep these happy stories coming. all the best and be safe.
Question ! Where do you plug the computer into? First question most so called Enginners seem to ask now. Good to see young apprentices learning which end of the spanner goes on the nut, and hey folks, you get dirty working with machines.
I'm John from Bigfork Montana. This was truly a hearwarming story. It made me proud as I have just purchased my first JCB machine, 2020 Teleskid. I feel confident that this machine will live up to it's predecessors.
So fantastic to see young enthusiastic engineers lovingly restore such an important machine. Not only for the history of JCB, but in remembrance of a loved one. This country needs more support and trust to help our future generations achieve the potential to Mach their energy.
What cool thing to do for a very loyal customer and his family. The bamford family must be respected after what they and all the apprentices who did the work. Absolutely stunning. Made me cry when they named her Angela. Thanks Ruth 😁❤
Very cool, I love seeing companies take pride in their products. I would love to see companies have full restoration shops to keep more items going and pass the engineering skills on to the new generations. As a young mechanic I myself find that old technology is lost to the new generation including myself. I can diagnose a wiring harness but I don’t even know how to drive a stick shift.
Yes. Restored using original manufacteurer's parts and techniques with no major changes. It would qulify with DVLA as a Historic Vechicle. Though to the owners it could be , another one to go out and work and earn our wages, just as useful now as in 1963.
51WCDodge I meant when people restore vehicles like that they change parts and paint it which is not the original paint but Jcb did it so technically it’s original
@@killianmurphy8527 The way the UK system works is if I have a vehicle for which I want claim any historic exemption, basically no tax or MOT. I rebuild the vehicle. The I get a recognised accesor, from one of the motorring associations or specialist groups to come an examine the vehicle. They will Score the vehicle on originality, is the engine original to the vehicle or one of the same type and power output the manufactuere used. Are the axles original. Is the body/chassis as was on the original specification. If it clicks up the magic number it is accepted as a Historic Vehicle. If major components have been changed and it fails the score, then you have a Modified Vehicle, so can't get a registration releveant to the vehicle or proof of age and have to pay tax and MOT as you would on a newer vehicle. Under certain circumstances the vehicle may need an engineers report or examination at a DVLA testing staion before it is leagl for road use.
Lovely restoration on an early backhoe by some enthusiastic young talent, I first met Eric in the early 90's when I worked for Westfield shovels when it was owned by Dave and Ros Chapman and managing director son Steve Chapman, we used to load pyrite to lorries on what was the old pyrite dump at the back of IBT which is now part of ABP's HIT and biomass storage and rail loading facility at Immingham, I always found him an interesting gent with a lovely placid nature and forward outlook on life, I must admit I was a bit jealous as we were using Ford A62's and he was on one of his cat machines, which were designed to "dig at the face" the Ford's were a decent small machine but they were the bee's knees in the holds of bigger bulk cargo ships as they would turn tighter than any other machine and also the articulation of the bucket was far greater than any other, but going back to the JCB 1, what a fantastic way to see one of these machines restored and one of his dreams fulfilled, we'll done guys.
I like how (at least in the UK) JCB has become synonymous with back hoe loader in much the same way a petrol driven disc cutter is a Stihl saw or a trench rammer or vibrating plate rammer is a wacker/wacker plate,
Excellent job on the restoration. The Before looks a lot like my Mazak Mission ( CNC Lathe Rebuild ) Happy to say i am nearly finished and soon i will actually be able to make some money from the machine instead of spend money, LOL. Great video to watch.
JCB seems to build quality and looking at that unit being as it was to its rebuild proves to all if you put pride into your company it will look after you, just amazing how small things were then..brilliant video
Proud to say that my Uncle was a long time employee of the company until he retired, I think I remember him saying that it was his only job in his career.
Adoro máquinas antigas. Merecem todo nosso carinho e admiração. Afinal são precursoras de tecnologias modernas. Parabéns aos idealizadores. MOSSORÓ-RN BRASIL.
The first time I saw JCB I fall in love and bought it immediately. The best idea Look Strong. i don't have experienced I pay a lot for repair and not work . I wish my JCB can work but Impossible nobody can fit If you want I can give you..
I've got a 505-20 loadall and I love it. Its nice and small, and my son calls it cute for its larger brothers are much more bigger. Its almost the same size of my Cadillac....but much heavier 4,009lbs
These old JCB diggers at the time where revalutionary and really thinking outside the box there was nothing like these diggers before, well done JCB for your inavation and genius.
1963 old model JCB heart touching looking Stories, and very precious compare to now and I also proud to be the member of JCB operator. I thanks all the member of engineer who re -store 4 future, thanks.
Awesome job guys👏 Angela would be pleased My brother and I lost our C3Mklll backhoe in the bush fires earlier this year in Australia it was an asset for sure going to miss it can’t beat them
Fantastic job well done, I'm just thinking of the changes over the years since that to the modern machinery we have today. What's it going to b like in another 60 years....
When did the JCB 1 style digger become the 3 CX. Love photographing machines like this. As a woman myself it's good to see women involved. Always wanted to be a truck or bus mechanic myself.
JCB a strong truly British company with respect for its heritage and customers. Stunning work.
Great "win - win" situation: the customer is happy with his restored JCB and JCB can educate young mechanics for their JCB factory. And this old machine is a perfect "learning object" for that.
Although I don’t think they get to keep it because they said they would make a trip to visitor it
Beautiful thing done. Great to see a manufacturer giving something so huge back to a loyal customer

Made a grown man cry that did. Fantastic!!! Congratulations all involved. Incredible!!
Actually a proper door in first? model, instead of me entering a bathtub with cab through a window in my 3DII s.
A fantastic project for the younger engineers to work on and learn from.

Great comment
on a machine like this they learn proper

Can you please make this a series? With longer episodes! You could get machines from all over the UK and restore them! 😍
These machines are there to earn peoples wages. Quite right a good restoration , rebuild scheme is essential.
Conor C what a great idea! It would be amazing to see what’s still hiding away in people’s sheds and the stories behind the machines! 👍
I have a 3cx that needs to be restored
Makes me immensely proud to be British 🇬🇧
What a wonderful story, what you guys did goes above and beyond. Stand proud JCB

Great to see young people involved in the restoration 👏☘️🇮🇪
From a young boy, my dad operated jcb’s, this video is the best. I’ve been to the factory in uttoxter, went i was about 12. Long live JCB
A British company to be proud of , lovely to see them using ERF s still aswell.

She is beautiful and to think it was all on an idea by mr Bamford, your memory lives on sir

Hope you meant 'apprentices' but it seems the spell checker had other plans🤣🤣🤣

What terrific people these are, no wonder JCB chose to partner with them on this project.
After I’ve seen the documentary about the history of jcb. I came up to this. Absolutely magnificent!
Technically it’s till original if jcb restore it 😂

@@51WCDodge The point here is - JCB could've changed an axle, and you can't exactly argue that it's "not OEM"
Factory refurbished
From apprentices to the skilled workforce involved in this project . Well done JCB .
Great job on the Loader, thanks for sharing !

Not just the UK, pretty much worldwide now🇬🇧

I think all JCB young apprentices should restore an old JCB classic as part of their initiation to the company.
I don't know much about backhoe loaders but I love the design of the JCB 1, it's so unique.
That was incredible
