Small correction on Millicent's Prothesis: it can be obtained at any point in Millicent's questline after you've given her the Valkyrie's Prosthesis and killed the Windmill Village Godskin Apostle. Because of this, the quickest way to get both is to finish Millicent's Questline on NG and then kill her after that Godskin Apostle on NG+. 53:30 You calling the cat talisman "useful" made me chuckle. the lethal fall is at 20 meters, in Elden Ring you start taking damage at 16 meters and the maximum amount of damage you get while overloaded is 50% of your hp while normally it's between 20 and 30% so very negledgable especially when soft cotton exists or simply throwing a shiny pebble to determine if a fall is lethal. In short, Cat Talisman is extremely useless.
Just want to note with Radagon's scar & soreseals specifically their boost to Viger negates the 10/15% damage taken increase at lower levels/Viger amounts. Essentially it gives you between 9-15 free levels minimum worth of stats for free until your viger starts to grow past the point that 5 extra Viger is less than 10/15% of your max HP. Even after that unless you're really cranking your viger high those extra 3-5 points mitigate most of the damage increases pretty well.
That's only true on paper and taking into account you only take one it. If you get caught by ANY multi-hit attack, this is no longer true. Not to mention that unless your flasks have kept up with the HP increase (which I'd argue early game they probably haven't), the value you'll heal for will be the same so unless you heal for 100% everytime, this is just a net loss in most cases for a meager stat boost that not even worth talking about past Liurnia.
What's more important than just the amount of vigor is that you get 12/20 free levels of Defense, which results in you taking less damage with the Soreseal than without (at least with Radagon's, don't have much experience with Marika's) early on. As the damage you take increases Absorption becomes more important than Defense, but just wearing decent armor, using defense talismans/buffs, and/or the Opaline Hardtear can pretty much negate any negative affects. Typically I'll use it if I'm below level 60 and have 35 Vigor (40 with Radagon's) or less.
Shabriri's woe talisman. Yes, I do play as a big shield tank in all RPG games I play. Yes, I do use Fingerprint shield and full Bullgoat's. Yes, I co-op with a friend that is a squishy caster. Tho that last line is half lie since you can still esaily lose aggro even with Shabriri's shit-eating grin talisman if you play too passively or your friend plays too aggressively, retaining aggro is a very important skill to develop.
Shabriri’s Woe does not alter enemy aggro mechanics out of battle. In battle, it makes enemies lock onto you more than other combatant e.g. other players, Spirit ashes. It does NOT make enemies more aggressive in combat, it does not make enemies see you from further away. It ONLY makes them attack you more often, and ONLY if there’s more enemies already in the fight
Apparently, one use for Shabiri’s Woe is to entice those shadowy enemies in the Sainted Hero’s Grave to attack into the holy circles, even if you’re already standing inside. Whereas normally you have to bait them into some kind of lunging or charging attack while standing outside. 🤷♀️ Pretty niche use for an otherwise fairly worthless talisman.

Hey, monk Thanks for making your content. I love watching you, and I've been binging your videos after one of my pets died and it's helped me to take my mind off of it
The sacrificial twig, if it works exactly like the sacrificial ring, give you another chance to recover runes too preventing permanent loss once per item
It does. Assuming you didn't plan on dying, you probably weren't wearing it when you died, but you can put it on when you go to get the runes and if something bad happens - which is all too common - you just lose a twig and the runes are still there.
I usually end up wearing the best dragoncrest talisman I have (physical damage reduction), the axe talisman (or the spear talisman), the claw talisman (jump attacks) and a max health talisman. The magic protection talismans and the holy protection talismans can be very handy in places. If you wear the best holy protection talisman and cast a holy protection buff on yourself the Elden Beast can barely hurt you because all its damage is holy. Makes Radagon quite a bit easier too.
The jar shard, Talisman hands down my favorite, definitely see the difference in ash of war damage. Next godfree for charged attacks of any kind. The canvis for my incantations, Bull goat and dragon crest great shield.
I'm inclined to disagree that Stamina is less important than Vigor/Mind. At a certain point in the game, roughly the Mountaintops or Farum Azula most bosses or enemies will be killing you within a few hits no matter your Vigor. Get it up to the point where you're not getting 1 shot and Stamina will be miles more useful as it allows you to dodge more, which lets you... not lose Vigor, and perform better in combat in general.
Stamina returns very quickly. Never mind how much stamina you have, you're going to have to pace yourself, which makes having high stamina less important. The talismans are percentage based, and high vigor is useful for everyone while high stamina is not. I'll take 200 health over 10 stamina. Sure. 200 health will not enable you to take one extra hit, but it is often the difference between dying in 2 hits and not.
60 vigor makes sure you aren’t one shot by like 90% of attacks in pve, obviously if you only do Pve and are just good sure don’t level vigor and pump that damage and stamina
Perhaps I just play more aggressively than most here because I can't agree that the sentiment of stamina regening fast is true as I've found myself various times in fights with minimal stamina where I'm barely hanging on for a dodge roll or whatnot. It may seem fast playing passively and only going for attacks when you're confident but if you get in the thick of it you'll be dreaming of more stamina.
Bull-Goat does not actually increase your poise, even though the UI says it does. It instead reduces poise damage you take, which is majorly different as you now need less total poise to power through attacks.
You don't really need that much vigor in PvE. As you can always use boiled prawn/crab + hard tear + DS/DGS talisman which can on it's own negate 50-55% incoming damage.
Small correction, you don't actually have to kill the boss to open the chest with the Erdtree favor +2 talisman, you can just take it during the fight.
for the executioners sword you can also run poison crow and white mask swap use fetid pot and a bleed method of your choice with the magic cracked tear with thorny cracked tear and now everything just dies.
It's interesting you recommended the talisman that raises your hp by 8% but not the scar/soreseals. If you do the math, the added damage really isn't that bad, considering health and defense increase from the seals
4:59 “Run past him, grab the talisman, and get the hell out of here. Ohhh Shit!” Never have I ever hear a better explanation for how it feels to run to that talisman… I swear to god that Banished Knight is on some kind of methamphetamine. I also never would have thought to use Raptor of the Mists on this Hero Grave Chariots.
Meanwhile I just sprint+R2'ed him and smacked his broken body into the ground with my Godslayer Sword. 1 death filled me with cold vengeance and took him out easily.
Poor phrasing on my part. What I was trying to say is there’s not a lot of situations where fighting on your horse just isn’t optimal, so it’s not really worth a talisman slot
@monkwashere I understand where you're coming from buuuut at the same time fighting dragons (and basically any boss that you're allowed to use Torrent on) is way easier when on horseback so yea😂
Most of the game isn't fighting dragons though. All the more difficult stuff is not open world. If you want runes it's way more efficient to get off the horse, and if you don't then just ride past the enemy. I did a lot of horseback combat when I first started playing Elden Ring, then I realized I was just wasting time.
From PvE experience: -One giving 4% are not that useful late-game, as while bonus is universal, it is laughable low -Like Scorpion-ones, since they give good damage boost that can be negated with spells like Black Flame Protection -Shabriri - Summon Mimic Tear with it and he should keep aggro. Alternatively, tank build in jolly co-op with mages. -Daedicar Woe - Mimic Tear boss fight, with this easy boss will become even easier. -Prima Glinstone Blade - Longer co-op sections, as you don't have chance to refil flask. Spell efficiency increased by 33% is a lot. 56:52 - Honestly, this talisman is hardly useful in PvE as you have Twiggy Cracked Tear, that gives talisman effect for 3 minutes (goes against description, but who cares).
31:03 The fact that the Arrow's Reach talisman affects Kukri is my favorite useless Elden Ring fact. No one ever cares about the damage falloff of kukri, but you could. It's great
@@michaelo.1320 Yeah but... it's not worth it. That 50% FP cost isn't worth the boost it gives. In short fights where you want to nuke something and get it over with, that can definitely be worth the tradeoff but in longer fights with something like Fire Giant or bosses that dodge or hate sorcery like Radagon? Carian Regal is just the superior option. Just the best sorcery scaling with 0 downsides. Lusat's is a noob-trap staff that I would only recommend for either short fights or one shot laser builds
@LowTierVergil The Lusat Staff has way better damage, to the point that it out performs staffs that boost certain spells in those spell categories. At the 60 int that these staffs sit at, you should have the mind to back it up, but if not this talisman gives a decent amount of leniency without much trade.
@@axis_chico true, I use Lusat's staff in my off hand to cast and have the booster staffs in the main hand to switch with the sorcery being used. Means I almost get all the FP investment back in damage. Carian slicer and rock sling are OP with my 80 INT 70 DEX build 🙂
I hard disagree with your take on the Carian Filigree talisman. If you have a build where you are using your ash of war frequently, this is a must. More chances to use a strong aow is always better than NOT being able to use it frequently
It's good for builds that have low mind in exchange for more damage, for instance my dex faith build with only 20 mind cooks with hand of malenia because of this talisman paired with Alexander Shard

lol I “accidently” reskilled and removed all of my vigor points before starting journey 2 today and it definetly wasn‘t the overpowered feeling I was hoping to get because I still got killed almost instantly xD
During the bull goat talisman section it’s stated that your ability to tank hits is based more on the weapon you wield than your poise now. Could someone possibly explain this to me? I’ve been under the impression it was still all poise based
Late response, but some weapons have "Hyper Armor" with some attacks. Essentially you'll still take damage but not be staggered mid animation . As long as the attack isn't too strong.
I was gonna watch this, but then realized its an hour long, not because of explaining the talismans, but explaining where to get them, and that's too much for me, I came hoping for stats.

The talisman sold by Iji also reduces cost of spells iirc. I keep it equipped on my mage and it makes me feel better
The jar shard, Talisman hands down my favorite, definitely see the difference in ash of war damage.
Next godfree for charged attacks of any kind. The canvis for my incantations,
Bull goat and dragon crest great shield.
Its kinda funny how similar our go to outfits are, mine only uses the jar head instead😂
Something special happens when you equip Daedicar’s woe, both soreseals, and a scorpion charm. Best place to try it out is in hero’s graves.
Bro stamina regens so fast it don't matter all that much just make sure you have the equip load
It may seem fast playing passively and only going for attacks when you're confident but if you get in the thick of it you'll be dreaming of more stamina.
panic roller
Bull-Goat does not actually increase your poise, even though the UI says it does. It instead reduces poise damage you take, which is majorly different as you now need less total poise to power through attacks.
45:17 boy oh boy I sure hope nothing else spawns at the warmaster’s shack at night
This the the absolute most helpful Elden ring video on UA-cam. Thank you so much
You don't really need that much vigor in PvE. As you can always use boiled prawn/crab + hard tear + DS/DGS talisman which can on it's own negate 50-55% incoming damage.
Gonna miss you monk until the dlc is released
Small correction, you don't actually have to kill the boss to open the chest with the Erdtree favor +2 talisman, you can just take it during the fight.
Great video. Kinda sad your videos don't get the attention they deserve considering the amount of effort put into making them.
for the executioners sword you can also run poison crow and white mask swap use fetid pot and a bleed method of your choice with the magic cracked tear with thorny cracked tear and now everything just dies.
monks got a talisman video LETS GO
rolling up to the sesh with a companion jar like yo im going full pot build
the prince of death talismans are gonna be great for the upcoming deathblight swamp
It's interesting you recommended the talisman that raises your hp by 8% but not the scar/soreseals. If you do the math, the added damage really isn't that bad, considering health and defense increase from the seals
"You'll never see someone use the primal glintstone blade". Ya, Hi. Youve got a guy who does here
4:59 “Run past him, grab the talisman, and get the hell out of here.
0:34 me who has spent approximately seven college tuitions in boiled crab
2:04 vigor players feel attacked
Wow I wish i could print this video out and read it every night.
Not a lot of opportunity for horseback combat?
ITS A HUGE FUCKING OPEN WORLD GAME DUDE
Poor phrasing on my part. What I was trying to say is there’s not a lot of situations where fighting on your horse just isn’t optimal, so it’s not really worth a talisman slot
@@monkwashereI fought all dragons on horseback with that talisman. Poke and Run style lmao. Totally worth the slot

I hate how much vigor is necessary in modern dark souls games. I preferred armor, my armor!
From PvE experience:
-One giving 4% are not that useful late-game, as while bonus is universal, it is laughable low
-Like Scorpion-ones, since they give good damage boost that can be negated with spells like Black Flame Protection
-Shabriri - Summon Mimic Tear with it and he should keep aggro.
60 vigor AND a health talisman? Damn, I usually go up to 30-40 at best and still feel like I don't have high enough damage stats
You didn't give the location for the blue dancer charm 😂
That Radagon’s Soreseal is so easy to get at low level, compared to Marika’s Soreseal seems to be evidence that FromSoft hates spellcasters 🤔
Genuinely love your choice of weapon lol
Excactly what I need, all Talisman Locations in one Video
31:03 The fact that the Arrow's Reach talisman affects Kukri is my favorite useless Elden Ring fact.
No one ever cares about the damage falloff of kukri, but you could. It's great
"On this corpse- JESUS CHRIST-"
Hey, what armor are you using?
Land of Reeds Helm, Ronin Armor, Ronin Greaves, Eccentric Manchettes
Thank you, very cool@@monkwashere
@@monkwasheredrip 💯
Samurai helm is top 3 helms in the game to me
Glad to see you drop a video! Great as always, totally not related you should try this game called hell let loose, i thibk youd like it
Why wouldn't you just put doublet talismans into your chest so it doesn't clog your inventory?
10:35 you don't have to beat him you can just run up and open it.
Great video man, well done
Primal Glintblade Talisman is useful with Lusat's Staff since it has the best scaling but spells cost more FP
If you wanted to use Lusat's staff that is which... don't know why you would
@@LowTierVergilbecause it has the best scaling you dingus
@@michaelo.1320 Yeah but... it's not worth it. That 50% FP cost isn't worth the boost it gives. In short fights where you want to nuke something and get it over with, that can definitely be worth the tradeoff but in longer fights with something like Fire Giant or bosses that dodge or hate sorcery like Radagon? Carian Regal is just the superior option. Just the best sorcery scaling with 0 downsides. Lusat's is a noob-trap staff that I would only recommend for either short fights or one shot laser builds
@LowTierVergil
The Lusat Staff has way better damage, to the point that it out performs staffs that boost certain spells in those spell categories.
Carian slicer and rock sling are OP with my 80 INT 70 DEX build 🙂
this poor man is gonna run out of things to talk about fromsoft please release the dlc soon.... for him
Bro, sell your duplicates 😭
you right 💀
No, it barely gives any extra runes and you can keep it in the pocket if one of your friends needs one
You might have an aneurism if you saw my first characters stash. Never sold a thing. lol 😊
You’re doing God’s work by explaining all these talismans and where they are
“ I speedran the dlc to get you ahead of the competition” in 3 months
Thank you for doing this!
I appreciate your channel so much
The grafted scion😂😂😂
Yo this is amazing. Thank you
Awesome video! Thanks for the help!
I can't even tell if the blessed dew talisman works
Does the old Lord's Talisman work on healing incantations by chance? Or incantation Buffs like flame Grammy strength or golden vow?
Good video
Does the spell drake talisman boost incantations or staffs?
How come I have never thought to use Raptor of the Mist to get through hero tombs???? God, I hate those chariots so much
the carian filigree crest is so useful tho??
The game is so extensive, you'd have to be addicted to playing to find a lot of the more useful charms.
Bothers me even more when he said the reduction was 25%, and then said it was bad. Lmfao
Hello there i have a question:
If i want to invade everywhere on the map
Do i need all the graces sites or the summoning poll or both?
Thank you for your time
You should do a video about what weapons can be parried. Sounds tedious but would be nice for pvp. Im a big fan of parrying and i recently got into elden ring pvp, but im having a rought time with all the weapons available and power stance. Also, magic users are so boring to fight.
hope the dlc adds at least 30-35 more
OK TIME TO SUBSCRIBE THIS SAVIOUR GUY (I AM PREPARING TO STRT DLC) BEST EXPLAINATION ON YT
Hey monk! I'm a bit late, but could you tell me how to join colloseum duels? I have the limgrave, and the Leyndell colloseums, but not the caelid one, I wanna join duels but all I know how to do is to make the actual fight, please help!
Omg I just found out that bubble spells are water !!!
Does this count as getting WET so it could buff LIGHTNING
and for how long are you WET ?
Does this work ?!
All the Sacrificial Twigs this game gives you, and they all become completely worthless as soon as you get the Twiggy Cracked Tear.
The problem I had with elden ring is I never wanted to level vigor, I'd rather git gud, so vigar level 10 the whole game. Can confirm almost EVERYTHING is a 1 shot
lol I “accidently” reskilled and removed all of my vigor points before starting journey 2 today and it definetly wasn‘t the overpowered feeling I was hoping to get because I still got killed almost instantly xD
@@Telepathic_Snail_Overlords Thank you!
I was gonna watch this, but then realized its an hour long, not because of explaining the talismans, but explaining where to get them, and that's too much for me, I came hoping for stats.
