I joined today because of all your Smart Car content. Everybody makes these jobs sound impossible, im glad to finally see someone doing the job, as many of us would be had to! Thanks for the informative, and keep your great attitude, as i would have to pace a fee steps between jams 😅.
If you remove both track control arms you can put a lever into the end of the open axel tube and pull it slightly to one side - then the drive shaft comes out without all the pushing and pulling.
Just put the rings into the oven ( on hot ) while you paint the shafts, then quickly drop them on, much easier. Also spray all the fixings with penetrating oil the day before, it will be easier and less damaging when you undo them.
Loved the vídeo and how "steady" it was. The rusty was really bad, but the dedication was, to the top. Great DIY vídeo. Thanks
Thank you for the feedback really appreciated .

good job good video .
Thanks for the feedback.
Great Video.
I had the same issue, cost £452 for a garage to change the shaft and ring. If only the ring was made from stainless steel 🤦♂
Agreed, I recently bought a drive shaft for £48 from Smarttune Ltd and it came with a reluctor ring fitted. £452 saved must feel good!
Wer der Typ etwas für Unterbodenschutz gemacht hätte sähe der Smart nicht so verrottet aus..
You are right. Thank you
Great Video.
