Frostleaf S1 DOES REMOVE the ranged damage penalty, it just isn't mentioned in the ability description and her damage is still so low that its easy to miss. Its fairly easy to test just compare her S1 red "crit" number for a ranged and melee hit on the same kind of enemy and you'll see the damage is the same.
I liked using Frostleaf in my no block strategy account, but her damage is so bad it hurts just watching. Here are my suggestions for modules: make her actually use the frost mechanic (and slightly revamp her skill to match that mechanic) OR just make her deal arts damage during her skill hits.
If her S2 actually boost her attack even for a little, or just change it into ARTS damage like most other Lord guards so, she’ll be a much better unit. edit: Module idea, change her slow into freeze. Impossible, but still coping.
Her S2 boosting attack doesn't fix any of her problems because it's still a fucking 50 SP cost and 0 starting SP. Sure she gets a small increase in damage when all you use her for is to lock a single enemy down.
I think the biggest problem with Frostleaf is that she has basically no niche. She had one, that is being a ground based slow supporter, but then Ambushers got introduced, who has the same range (except they are placed 1 block further) and are designed for stall. With their modules being 20% slow always; Manticore having 50% slow Mizuki having stun or close to consistent bind and the king of stall, Ethan being cracked; they do basically everything that Frostleaf was unique at.
Well, I have find some places that I can actually use Frostleaf, like the hammer dud in the Maria nearl event. Cuz the platforms is already filled with electric coils, so Angelina and glaucus won't work there
forstleafs been my daughter for 2 years now I've used her in every stage including CC's, the moment when she got her skin, I cried tears. My daughter's all grown up!
I love Frostleaf. She is my first E2, her E2 art is badass, she is my longest assistant, she hums and its very cute. And lastly, she looks like my oshi vtuber who graduated last year. And sadly, yes, she is a bad op. :')
I breezed through Act1 as a newcomer with Frostleaf, simply because I didn’t know I had better options and I didn’t care, I loved her design, voice personality, everything. It broke my heart when I learned she was actually the worst operator in the whole game, but I conceded and swapped her for Arene, and yeah the difference is immediately obvious. I still wish she gets a module or something to make her usable…
I started playing the game due to me falling for her design when global was announced, first character that I even E2'd and used until I got lappland. Didn't know she was this weak until I saw this video lmao. Great video, its interesting to learn how an operator works and what sets them back instead of something simple as 'number smaller so dont use' and how little HG would need to do to make them viable.
In the earlier days of game - and I play from nearly release - I've got NOTHING in the Lords department. No SA, no Lappy. Only Frostleaf. Yeah, there was Midnight too, but he was not always helpful. So I cleared chapters from 2, I guess, to 5 with Frostleaf as my main "ranged guard". By the sheer virtue of that I am forever grateful to her and unironically gave her E2. She's been with me through the Spiderhell. She desevrvs THAT much.
7:00 Glaucus sighted, I have subscribed for your exquisite taste. Glaucus is also a funny comparison because she specializes in slowing multiple enemies so while Frostleaf uses an entire skill 2 to trap one guy, Glaucus can bind the whole map with a press of a button. Back to Frostleaf, I would love to see them implement Chill on her skills though the most important thing is definitely the stat buff. Even conceptually, giving her more Def is dumb because you slow things so they don't reach you. Why would that operator worry about being hit and why one stat only, seriously
module : when skill is activated and for the remainder of the skill duration frostleaf deal additional damage based on max/current hp of the enemies she attacked. this effect only apply whenever the bind procs
one thing i really hope would be either a 5* alter of frostleaf that inflict chill on attack and fixes her other problems, or make her 4* module do inflict chill on skill up (or on attack)
When I watch about S2 I know that it's really a long charge-up. I has Forstleaf Lv.70 S2M3 too... Know by my experiences with her. Also in lorewise, she is nearly retired due to her infection. (Fun fact, Durnar's lore said about Frostleaf is very powerful in the past... so I don't know if there will be the alter based on that then)
I SUBBED!!!! THANK LORD OF ALGORITHM FOR THIS ENCOUNTER! I raised frostleaf WAYYY far back because I like her e2 art and I ALREADY KNEW how shit she is but her e2 art was one of (if not) the best in the early days. There's just something fascinating in listening to your loved one being trashtalked in such details. Because it takes one to know one. I cracked up the moment you said it sloes your account progression. Your insult and delivery is so on point and I had such a goooooood time throughout the video. Please, please do abjurer class next, especially Tsukinogi. If you're wondering, yes I have her m6 maxed out. I can confirm, how much of a big failure her design is for this subclass ESPECIALLY on her skill 2 even after the trait change (heal during skill). I would love to see it Love you yeehaw
Frostleaf was one of my fav when the game came out. Hope she'll be able to outshine everyone one day ... *one day* ... At this rate, might as well pray for an Alter version. Btw love the video and your dedication 👍
Great video! Although some of the jokes fell flat for me, it's a great editing style for an operator view. I especially liked operators' medical record information at the start and the credits bit at the end.
I have to wonder what the lord guard module will be. Theres a chance it will just be "removes damage reduction on ranged attacks", which is the most useless buff ever for most of them, but probably good for one of them, like maybe frostleaf. Or it might be "deals an additional hit of 25% arts damage with melee attacks" which would be obscenely good on anyone who can sit in melee range for more than half a second without dieing. Or they'll just say "feck it, all ranged attacks hit twice" and suddenly Lappland can solo patriot, thorns can solo every stage in existence, and silverash can solo max risk CCs. Frostleaf, on the other hand, can maybe bind people more concistently, which is borderline irrelevant.
as someone who maxed her early on - mostly anyway - I must say good Sir, when you have too few range slots and only ground ones, her extended range helps pile her on when bullying enemies into submission by drowning them in operators. She helps support the quantity over quality of throwing enough of your minions at the problem until it dies! Silliness aside though, rooting down slow bosses and big elites is always nice. Hoping her module improves her CC, like she hits an additional enemy while skill is active. :D
Back during CC#0, my account was still relatively weak. I did everything I could with my account and I still couldn't beat Risk 18. Lo and behold, the final piece of puzzle was that I needed a ground Op slower, which Frostleaf fits the bill. I had her stand on a safe tile aiming towards the lava tiles, and it worked. If it weren't for Frostleaf, I would've broken my straight Risk 18+ clears.
From a pure character design standpoint, Frostleaf is basically my favorite operator. She was my very first Elite 2 (yes I know that was a terrible idea) as well as my very first max level. I adore her. She is bestgirl, and I will fight anyone who tries to argue that. But, as a unit. Yeah she's pretty bad, but on the cusp of greatness and completely overshadowed by her peers because Lord is a cracked fucking class with absolutely zero chill aside from Frostleaf herself who got ALL of it. I really hope a module fixes her without making the other Lords too much more... Themselves... So she falls right back into being overshadowed, or she just gets given an Alter and the actual chill effect, which is honestly what she needs because she should've had that day one but they cannot rework her because of gambling laws or some shit
I got her as a temp in IS#2. E2 because 2 guard ticket start and I wanted to try it. First thing I noticed is she has TERRIBLE damage. Her CC is meager and she just isn't worth using at all imo. I wish Hypergryph changed her to have cold effect on skills (since it's literally what she should do).
Frostleaf already nerfs herself in two ways: Trait reduces ranged damage by 20% and talent increases attack interval by 0.15. So the best thing we can get out of a module is to just remove these two nerfs and maybe give her +30-50 ATK. What's that? You think this is weak? Well say hello to the module system, where, if the stars align, a shit op will be less shit, and the playerbase will still cry out 'rare module system W.' "She should have multi-target" "She should switch to arts damage" phrases said by those that forgot that Arene, the other 4* lord guard, exists. "She should deal some bonus arts damage"- people who think hybrid damage is good. "She should apply chill/freeze" hurr durr operator has ice-themed attacks, so they must definitely apply freeze debuff. What's next? Shaw should apply 'wet' debuff so Leizi's 'electric arts' deals bonus damage? piss off. If you actually want Frostleaf to be good then come join us in the "my waifu/husbando is shit so I'm waiting on a cracked limited alter" waiting room, because we're clearly starting to run out of seats...
I believe she had some niche back in the day. It was basically only 4 star lord (and the 5 star lord was Lappland and her kit also sucks) and had rare ability to bind enemies with long-lasting skill. She was never meant for DPS but stall packed with some block. Nowadays you can just use Arene, his arts dmg is very helpful and also hits two things at once! ...or you know. Thorns. Best operator for newbies hands down
Frostleaf was one of the first characters i got attached to, sadly I realized he just has no place on my team that my silverash can't fullfill much better
Fantastic vid!! As a professional copium huffer for my favourites (ngl seeing Corroserum in F tier made my heart hurt a lil but it's fine, it's cool sniffs) seeing someone go through the trouble of using a trash op just to have hands on experience with their monumental suck whether it be because of bad kit design, bad matchups, lack of use cases or just being plain outclassed reminds me a lot of when I spent time trying to figure out if Mr Nothing was really as bad as everyone thought he was (he's not, but he's not as universally applicable as Lee or Jaye so to some people yes he is). Absolutely loved the way you described and chronicled your findings and hey, anyone who puts respect on Ayerscarpe and Arene's names gets an instant sub from me. Stay coping, man ✌🏾
great video, i am a day 1 player, the realization that her and chen just copium dps make me dropped AK after playing 1 month. i played it again after heard about watergun chen, and can enjoy AK again since then.
Her design looks cool she was also pretty cool on main story 4 but man she needs help on the gameplay department. There's still a tiny amount of copium left on modules.
I know the subject is about Arknights and about Frostleaf specifically, but... I can't believe I played civ 6 so much that I can recognise Greece's theme music at the end!
Frosleaf is one of my first guard in the game she really helps me to progress as the game became difficult her usage is obsolete because there are better operator that outclass her. In module I hope she get atk and atk. Spd Stat and giving her talent better. If the adjustment of buffing single operator not just making general by archetypes I think frosleaf deserves a buff. For example giving her a talent that has cold effect on each of her attack. 1st skill became Arts damage with 2 Strike so that it can trigger freeze effect like gnosis S1. S2 instead of having an rng Bind it became an attack increase maybe 20-30% keeping the 50+ atk. spd. And you know what happen to the operator with cold talent like gnosis getting atk. spd. I think of adding she attack 2 target like arene.
I wish if she gonna have a module her base module gonna allow her deal bonus arts damage and double the arts damage when using skills, while her module upgrade will remove her ASPD debuff from talent at upgrade 2, and increase it slightly more for the final upgrade
Corroserum gets some meta love in the new Reclamation Algorithm mode where you can build your own stage and then watch it get blown up by spooders or better yet, silence them 4tw.

25% chance to inflict cold on a target
I love Frostleaf. She is my first E2, her E2 art is badass, she is my longest assistant, she hums and its very cute. And lastly, she looks like my oshi vtuber who graduated last year.
And sadly, yes, she is a bad op. :')
Which V-tuber?
@@ReynKing Siu Lee from Nijisanji KR. She and Frostleaf are both foxes.
@@YuriSteiner04 that's a name I haven't heard in a long time
I breezed through Act1 as a newcomer with Frostleaf, simply because I didn’t know I had better options and I didn’t care, I loved her design, voice personality, everything.
It broke my heart when I learned she was actually the worst operator in the whole game, but I conceded and swapped her for Arene, and yeah the difference is immediately obvious. I still wish she gets a module or something to make her usable…
She gets 10% Arts Damage and 25% chance to inflict cold, which is perfect for S2.
Yea well ... the module didn't do sht
Love the editing on these videos, keep it up!
I came from kukkikaze, and you got my subscription on this video.
That 55 Defense Gaming at 9:08 was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think my sense of humor is down bad. I'm just laughing over a wet noddle jpeg with loud music and intensified screen shakes.
module : when skill is activated and for the remainder of the skill duration frostleaf deal additional damage based on max/current hp of the enemies she attacked. this effect only apply whenever the bind procs
earthspirit next?
one thing i really hope would be either a 5* alter of frostleaf that inflict chill on attack and fixes her other problems, or make her 4* module do inflict chill on skill up (or on attack)
you e2'd frostleaf to prove how bad she is
i e2'd frostleaf for the cool art to have as assistant on my main menu
we are not the same
Very detailed and humorous video! Love the format 👌
9:21 GODDAMNIT
I CAN'T ESCAPE THAT DAMN MELODY
Personal hopium (that won't happen): module that can freeze with skills up because I want more freeze ops. Other suggestions are fine too.
I would love to see it
Love you yeehaw
seeing all those small animations is eyecandy at its finest which you dont see often anymore. You deserve more subs
the last thing i ever expected from this video truly was a Song of Seikilos remux at the end
"can only dream as being as permanent as the damage Tectone(kektone) does to gatcha communities" cracked me up! was not expecting that, but also true!
Frostleaf was one of my fav when the game came out. Hope she'll be able to outshine everyone one day ... *one day* ... At this rate, might as well pray for an Alter version.
Btw love the video and your dedication 👍
And with that, I now know I can finally relate my sense of humor with someone else. You earned a sub!
Great video! Although some of the jokes fell flat for me, it's a great editing style for an operator view. I especially liked operators' medical record information at the start and the credits bit at the end.
1:23 wow Frost leaf is 7 star for that to be able to break fourth wall, and affect slow to the player
I came here after seeing Kukki's vid. Subscribed immediately.
Frostleaf, on the other hand, can maybe bind people more concistently, which is borderline irrelevant.
love this video1! your editing is amazing
as someone who maxed her early on - mostly anyway - I must say good Sir, when you have too few range slots and only ground ones, her extended range helps pile her on when bullying enemies into submission by drowning them in operators. She helps support the quantity over quality of throwing enough of your minions at the problem until it dies!
Silliness aside though, rooting down slow bosses and big elites is always nice. Hoping her module improves her CC, like she hits an additional enemy while skill is active. :D
Please HG, give her module Cold/Freeze gimmick. She literally has "Frost" in her name
Also probably synergize with Aurora too
Back during CC#0, my account was still relatively weak. I did everything I could with my account and I still couldn't beat Risk 18. Lo and behold, the final piece of puzzle was that I needed a ground Op slower, which Frostleaf fits the bill. I had her stand on a safe tile aiming towards the lava tiles, and it worked. If it weren't for Frostleaf, I would've broken my straight Risk 18+ clears.
i love your video! a lot of effort and jokes that actually make sense and funny:)
Somehow it feels so stupid now knowing Frostleaf ever try to fight back Frostnova on the story aside being ridiculously useless Lord guard in the game
glad i found you, fantastic humor LMFAO
Ah yes Doctah who raise their horse police officer.
I thought Frostleaf's S1 froze the enemy, which would make her stalling pretty viable. And then I watched this video.
OAKY DUDE NGL! I SUBS CAUSE I LOVED HOW YOU INTRODUCED HER. WP !
Frostleaf already nerfs herself in two ways: Trait reduces ranged damage by 20% and talent increases attack interval by 0.15. So the best thing we can get out of a module is to just remove these two nerfs and maybe give her +30-50 ATK. What's that? You think this is weak? Well say hello to the module system, where, if the stars align, a shit op will be less shit, and the playerbase will still cry out 'rare module system W.'
"She should have multi-target" "She should switch to arts damage" phrases said by those that forgot that Arene, the other 4* lord guard, exists.
Hello doctor. I am russian new player.... And that's video is so fun!!! You make my morning :) Special thanks for the joke about factory in the end.
Frostleaf is basically my first crush in this game and my first operator to get 200% trust on, please HG i beg you to somehow upgrade her 😔
thanks Eha (Yee-Haw) for building and testing frostleaf out... im still trying to figure out why you would do this to yourself but a nice !
9:22 I see what you did with ebenholz... It's inescapable... Everywhere I go, I hear and now SEE it...
tectone jab in less than 3 minutes? instant sub
I hope she can get a 5* alter, which increase her slow/bind skills, as a decel binder or vanguard
The video was really good as well as the editing and memes here take my sub
sheesh this is well produced, you deserve more subs
Stay coping, man ✌🏾
This is really well-made, hopefully it becomes a series!
How to save Forstleaf: make her deal cold damage
wait no one is talking about how clean the editing is
0:44 one npc from Alive Until Sunset is also named Frost
9:23 ebenholz with the lick 💀💀
She would be way better if that slow becomes cold instead. Fits her better lorewise too.
great video, i am a day 1 player, the realization that her and chen just copium dps make me dropped AK after playing 1 month.
i played it again after heard about watergun chen, and can enjoy AK again since then.
Her design looks cool she was also pretty cool on main story 4 but man she needs help on the gameplay department. There's still a tiny amount of copium left on modules.
man the ending so good, need more of it
I know the subject is about Arknights and about Frostleaf specifically, but...
Damm that tectone roast came out of nowhere
The quality of this video is amazing
That tectone line *chefs kiss*
Your W: BAD
My W: Soloes half of the map
wow i didnt even know that she's a battle records gen in the factory LOL thanks for the info!
a good enjoyable high quality video.
liked and subbed
Corroserum gets some meta love in the new Reclamation Algorithm mode where you can build your own stage and then watch it get blown up by spooders or better yet, silence them 4tw.
Gotta hand it to them tho. The icon of her s1 is fking awesome
This is the first video I saw from you ^^ ... INSTANT SUBSCRIPTION! I rlly enjoyed it, can't wait to check the others! ^^
That intro (and certain edits throughout the video) made me feel AsumSaus vibes, any chance you're a viewer of his?
In any case, crazy good video, I loved it
