Yup I can confirm this as well. After achieving the blue sky a golden chest was absolutely there. Also ty for the great videos! Always a big help. Got the game today and put about 5 hrs in so far and loving it.
i just found the creek bed chest well before blue sky. i had done some work on my base before going off to follow this guide though so i couldn't tell you what the trigger might actually be other than that i was just under 6.0 kTi on the terraformation index.

Don't know if anyone ever told you (and of course for anyone else): if you leave the golden chests alone until later in the game, you can quite possibly get much better loot from them. Rarer items. Also, thanks for showing the hidden door, never knew that was there. Next playthrough I'm going to get in there too!
Oh interesting! I always use the living compartment as a stationary O2 point. Didn’t think about deconstruct it and continue the exploration. Thank you for the suggestion! ❤
Yeh I do that, before I go out I have the mats to build another compartment or as I call them "Outposts", later on in the game I use Atenas and label them, and place on them.
That golden chest under the edge of that stone bridge-type thing over the dry river bed - it's there. I bought the game yesterday (April 13) and began playing (first-time player), and found it. Also, just an fyi - deconstructing a golden chest will yield a super alloy and aluminum, items that are otherwise a bit difficult to get very early on. Otherwise, excellent video. I had no idea about the secret door in the side of the mountain. Thanks! :)
Top Tip for begineers who are happy to walk a while. Go straight to the waterfall from the very early game. Inside you find blue cargo boxes with most of the early upgrades, such as oxygen tier, backpacks, exo skeletons, upgrade chips etc. Just bunny hop there and back using the costruct and deconstruct of a pod + door.

Obviously the golden seed and effigy aren't random but the other golden crate items seem to be although fortunately they're a higher rarity than blue crates so you can still get great stuff (i.e. uranium rods) early on.
I just started a new game also and the golden chest was under the bridge rock like it was before. Had the space capsule statue in it as well. Seems like they may be random for each person. I looked for that door and could not figure out where it was. Thanks for the tip on the deconstruct gun to find it. Cool tip! 👍
The magnesium on the slope below the gate on the left side as you were looking at it from your spawn point is the level of the lake at its highest/fullest point.This magnesium is always there.
Achievements don't work if you start with demo then buy the game, have to start a fresh game after purchase. Thank you for posting your video, very good tutorial, well explained.
Bro, if you did not give me the tip to not build at the bottom, I would’ve kept my entire base and resources down there, but can anyone tell me if the water would go up to the stones that looks like they were stacked at? 0:52
@@GranddaddyGamer It's still there. I just got it last night. It's just not in that exact location. I have the same problem whenever I play through again. It's never in the spot I think it is, but it is in the stream bed.
The chest that "it's not there" appears later in the game - after blue sky phase. One tip from me - the items which you find inside of the BLUE chests scattered around the map depend of the phase you're in - the first time you open it - those will be the items - so in other words it auto-generate the items according to the phase you're on. Haven't tested this but save/load scamming might give you other items? :) If anyone willing to try or have tested please let me know. Edit: Just saw that someone has said nearly the same thing about the chest - but yeah, it's there after Blue Sky (I think)
Help me understand what you are saying (and I was forming a similar question in my mind): If I take the contents out of the Blue and Gold Chests, but don't deconstruct them, will they get populated with items again and again (you keep taking out the items) as the game progresses?
@@JohnYoga While the game was receiving updates - the answer to your question was - Yes. I don't think this is true now. Haven't played the game after 1.209 :) and cannot confirm this works. But as I said it was happening when there was update.

Wow, I would have never found that secret door. Note that later in the game, it's underwater, but the directions are good enough to find it.

You want to save those Golden Chests until you are higher level they spawn better stuff. Also the Chest is still there.
