12:10 ATC similar enough to UK. Flight plan mandatory to leave EIWT AOR, for your Liffey transit of EIDW CTR and to cross the FIR boundary. You went from Weston Tower to Dublin Tower and then to Dublin Information (outside ctr). You don't request a basic service like the UK but you get one once you either have a FP or you are two way it them. EIDW may have been unaware of your FP details (was it a FP through SD, telephone or local flight plan with Weston) or just decided to quiz you up a bit. No harm including "as filed" on contact. He wanted to know your CTR outbound fix to hand you off to your next sector Dub Info. Essentially you got a traffic service through the CTR until outside, then with Dub Info for an information service.
@@jpsmith6975 Thanks for watching and a great explanation of Irish ATC practices. Flight plan was through EuroFPL - will definitely be back to do some more flying in Ireland 😃
Fantastic video George, absolutely loved it! Thanks for taking the time to put it all together, about to start my old JAR PPL revalidation at Goodwood after many years out of the saddle and its video's like this that inspire me to get back in the air! Blue skies!
Wonderful! I have about 3 hours flying so far, all of it in G-VALL. What a lovely aircraft. I'm seriously thinking of starting my PPL journey officially, so I might see you at Solent very soon.
Great video Gerorge, well prepped and narrated, encouraging for others to visit Ireland. Great service by Weston and Dublin ATC.

excellent video! i subscribed and i hope you get more subscribers in the future!
Thanks for the sub!
Another brilliant video! Just to help me with the Arrow in FS2020, at what point should the prop go full forward before landing?
Thank you! Typically base/final approach (depending on how tight the circuit is) is a good time to fully configure for landing.
@@Coepilot thank you!
