I'm a carpenter by trade but for the last ten years I've been the head maintenance guy for a group of landlords. Everything you've shown is the same way as I would do it. Good to see some accurate information on UA-cam. I've got a few videos myself not very good at making videos but I'm learning. Good job

I’m a DIY type but not incredibly handy. Paul, can you do a video on cracked drywall from door corners that seem to recrack after repairs are done? Was it a bad technique that caused it or something else. We have used both kinds of tape. We did use, though, the joint compound already mixed in a jar from a big box store.

I've done drywall all life. Youre working it and I don't know if you were taking time to talk. You can coat the mud by grabbing the knife full of mud all the way across it and just wipe off tips on both ends of knife on pan and apply down middle in one shot, so you don't hav to keep making passes to fill it. you run that field joint in one big pass. One time coating it with mud. One time feather each side of mud just aplied, 2 passes down field joint. and then one wipe down center and done. Lots of mud to catch by not feather your mud on both sides of knife on pan before applying it. If any of that made sense. Good job good work. It would just be more efficient, same results.

Can you skim coat over painted walls, my bedrooms have a horrible texture and a noticeable line where two pieces of dry wall meet where you can tell a horrible texture job was done.

Dry wall on the exterior of a house in a climate with 80% humidity most of the year. That's about as cheap as it gets. It least use material that will hold up.

Was just curious. I see your UA-cam name says tapeless drywall finishing. Does that mean you don't use tape of any kind? I'm a painter so overlook me if that sounds dumb, just never saw that before.

@@c.b.-11 yes, no tape at all. We have been doing tapeless drywall finishing for more than 10 years and no issues so far. You can check my channel for more info. Thanks 🙏
