- Welcome back to Jason's Macintosh Museum!
This is the second video in the series on the Apple Macintosh LC III from 1993.
In this video, the Macintosh LC III from 1993 will be started up to demonstrate the Macintosh System (MacOS) 7.6.1.
The games "Cyberopoly", "Dynamic Video Poker", and "Super MacMan II" will also be demonstrated. - Наука та технологія
So glad you enjoyed Cyberopoly. I had a lot of fun making this game (almost 20 years ago!!!)
How much was in 68030 assembly?
I had a lot of fun playing it too, although I was only a kid. I'm happy to send you my shareware registration fee albeit 20 years late!
No way! Wow!
I’ll definitely give it a try. Looks fun!
The speed difference between this and the LC II is incredible!
I love how the operating system and the games look.
That was cool seeing all those old tech companies that are no longer around. I used to use Locos everyday all day long when it was still around. I miss it now.
Jason, great videos. Keep up the good werk!
I appreciate your commentary and knowledge of the industry at that time. It really takes me back to the start of my career as a Graphic Designer in the early 90s. Those were the wild wild west days of Mac and PC gaming. Please keep up the good work. If you can, please review the Quadra 700 and 7100 series desktops. Also, the 6100 AV series. Thanks again!!! I look forward to your shows nightly!!!!
Chris Hinkle I do have a Quadra 700, and once I get it working, you can expect a video very soon! I have a Power Mac 6100, but it is not the AV series. However, I do have a 7100/80 AV.
Jason's Macintosh Museum Excellent! Thank you! I look forward those reviews. -- I once collected vintage Macs (all models to follow my 700). "House rules" persuaded me to give up my collection years later. But my Quadra 700... I just could not part with it. It remains tucked away, ready for a game of Hellcats or Hornet or perhaps a quick game of Spectre when I'm feeling in the mood. -- Thanks again. Your preservation efforts are keeping these machines alive. Keep up the great work!
Cyberopoly looks fun :D
I reckon you would be fun to play Cyberopoly against Jason! You wouldn't happen to work in the IT industry would you? Your knowledge of these older Macs is very impressive.
Jason,
You wouldn't happen to be Australian are you? you sound it on your videos.
Love your videos of the Old Vintage Macs you got too. :)
5:20 they designed the C++ development suite that was a common thing for developers at the time.
Nice computer. The LCIII is one of my favorite smaller pizza-box-based Vintage Macs. The hard drive doesn't sound too healthy, though.
1912RamblerFan01 True - but the drive is still working!
Yes, but it sounds like it is about to fail. Do you backup or make copies of the files regularly on your Macs?
1912RamblerFan01 I know this old but for others who see this. That is normal sound of those drives from era.
That drive sounds just like the 80MB drive in my LCIII+ 🙂 Typical sound for a drive from that era. Every old Mac user should have an SCSI2SD. Let’s you use an SD card as a HD. Highly recommended!
@@djhaloeight Question, can you use the scsi2sd to replace a failed Quantum HD? I don't know if I have that problem yet, but it would be good to know if the HD has failed. It is not spinning up, but I haven't done the simple troubleshooting like check the PRAM battery yet.
Thanks for the video.
Very nice demonstration. That Cyberopoly looks very fun!
Why do you suppose it restarted the boot process at 1:49?
***** That was caused by MacOS 7.6 switching the system from 24-bit addressing to 32-bit addressing mode. MacOS 7.6 requires that 32-bit addressing be used, but many older Macs (including the LC III) default to 24-bit addressing if their PRAM is cleared. If MacOS 7.6 detects that 24-bit addressing is active, it switches the system into 32-bit mode, and automatically restarts it.
Jason's Macintosh Museum Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.
Hi, I noticed you have BeeBop but didn’t try it?
Is it the full version? I can’t find the full one anywhere and it’s not possible to pay for it..
I know it's not a Macintosh, but do you have an apple //c you could do a video on? I just purchased one, and would love to see you do a video on it.
daguchful I do indeed have a IIc (and a IIGS). However, I have no software to test them with! I will work on that....!
I have a problem with MY Macintosh LCIII, The first time I turn it on, it boots fine, but the next time I go to boot it up, there will be a chime, but that's it. Then the third time I boot it, NOTHING. I'll have to wait a couple hours until booting it again... If anyone knows what's going on help is much appreciated :D
+Long Haired Gaming have you tried replacing the clock battery you can get them at radio shack or at amazon other wise it may be more serious then that. I have some and it was just the clock battery and now there back in full operation.
May need to have the capacitors replaced. All the machines from the 80s and 90s are due for new caps. You can tell if your caps are bad if you see what looks like sticky residue below the caps on the motherboard, and you may notice a fishy smell. That is the electrolytic fluid seeping out. Low volume is another symptom, along with not booting or having trouble booting. I had my LC III+ motherboard and power supply recapped by www.maccaps.com . He does great work!!
Is cyberopoly pre installed?
No.
Why did it reboot at the boot process.
jake harvey That was because this Mac was running System 7.6, which requires 32-bit addressing. By default, the LC III uses 24-bit addressing if its PRAM is cleared, and if System 7.6 detects this, it automatically switches the system into 32-bit addressing mode and restarts.

Έχω έναν ακριβώς τον ίδιο , παρακαλώ όποιον τον ενδιαφέρει σαν αντίκα τον ανταλλάζω με ένα σύγχρονο PC.
Δουλεύει κανονικά
