I feel sad for all the young 49er fans that were not alive during this era, Rice was nothing short of incredible!
Me too. These guys were gods to me at a young age
I am sad :(. 17 yr old fan here
I wasn't around for the 5-0 super bowl days, I have seen the 49ers lose two and that is it, That just going to make the win the much bigger, My father is a 49er fan as well I know about the glory days all to well and have watched highlights my entire life.
@@goldrush49 We got new gods now don't worry we will see a ring soon ;)
I grew up in the Bay and saw all the greats live (Montana rice etc..). I even was at Joe's last game as a 49ers. Growing up in the 80's when the 49ers were their best. I remember watching the 49ers win all 5 rings. Since then I've seen them lose the last 2 superbowls we made it to. Niners need to be back on top and win more then any other team.
They talked about his lack of speed yet you hardly ever seen him get ran down once he got loose. The Goat and its not even close.
Usually, they are referencing his 40-yard times which supposedly was a 4.7. That is slow. Juan Jennings runs a 4.7 and we all know Rice is not that... Juan is a perfect example of a 4.7 guy. Rice was a pretty fast guy on the field that made a living getting by defenders. He runs more like a 4.4 guy on the field. J.J stokes ran a 4.5 and Rice was faster than him on the field. I don't think anyone ever judged rice's lack of speed on the field, especially in his early career.
Owens was better than Rice! Owens had 153 career touchdowns in 15 years. In 2005 Owens only played 7 games for Philly the year he got suspended. Which was definitely peak Owens at the time. If not for the suspension Owens would of had over 160 career touchdowns after 15 years. While Rice had 197 career touchdowns. Owens was well on pace to get the touchdowns record, and threaten Rice's yardage record also. Rice had 15 years of Montana and Steve Young.
Truly is the GOAT
Jerry Rice is my dad's favorite player of all time, his favorite team is the 49ers, and I know this would make him happy as it's his Birthday today
Happy birthday to your dad happy father day also.
Rice- the San Francisco Treat
Growing up my parents had season tickets to the 49ers. They had 4 tickets plus a parking pass, so my sister and I got to go with them. I was there for #101 vs the Dolphins. In the rain. I was there for the Monday Night Football game against the Raiders when Rice went for #125, 126, & 127, breaking Walter Payton's record. My dad took some newspaper clipping, 3 buttons we bought from a vendor along with the game tickets, and made his own "Rice broke the record" plaques out of picture frames. Still has them to this day. And we still root for the 49ers to this day. And without a doubt Jerry Rice is the GOAT. By far.
My childhood hero! I'm literally in tears all these great memories that brought me so much joy. The G.O.A.T!
The greatest ever, and still my favorite player ever. 49er fan for life because of this man.
I am so glad I got to see most of these as it happened. My kids missed out on him.
The reason why im a 9ers fan. GOAT
Simply the greatest of all time
OL'🐐👑JERRY RICE#80 .. DA GREATEST PLAYER IN NFL HISTORY .. FROM 👑49ERNATION ..
Truly the greatest NFL player of all time, absolutely no argument
Love these highlights!!! Brings back so many memories watching Rice! His work ethic and dedication to his craft were truly legendary! GOAT!!!
Jerry Rice the G.O.A.T
THAT'S WHY HE'S THE GOAT THE GOAT
Almost every one of these plays went for a touchdown. Jerry Rice the touchdown 👑
Jerry Rice is seriously one of our best past players we've ever had. Thank you for all you did for our team. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🏈🏈❤💛🔥🔥🔥🔥 #WINLOSEORTIE #NINERSTILIDIE #49ERFAITHFUL
Jerry Rice the GOAT!!!!
Absolutely A Goat of All time
Truly Amazing!
THE GOAT OF GOATS
Crazy that play 31 he worked so hard to come back from a torn ACL to make this one TD catch and break his knee cap...
WHAT DID I MISS?! Jerry could go out there, RIGHT NOW TODAY, and contribute! Even just having him near the team would help make these new 49ers greater!
One of a kind
Rice is truly incredible nothing else to say, he is the G.O.A.T and Joe Montana is The Best QB Ever to walk this planet!
Not just best receiver but best football player ever in my opinion with numbers to back up including all time leader in td's
His stretch between 1986-1996 was incredible, only ended because he got his knee blown out. That season he tore his ACL is the only time he missed a game in his career (and he returned that same season). He even played 17 games when he was 42 years old because he switched teams midseason.
1986-1996, 10x 1st-Team All Pro, 11 Pro Bowls, never had less than 1000 yards, caught less than 10tds only twice (8 and 9, so still close).
This guy was doing that in an era where 3500yds and 25tds was considered a great season for a QB. There will never be a receiver as prolific as Rice.
The 🐐
We will never see a receiver like Jerry Rice.. what a lot of people don't know about Jerry Rice is it that he wasn't the most talented wide receiver out there.. but he was one of the most hardworking football players ever.. he will work hard every single day and even has this famous workout schedule to where players like Terrell Owens said that it is a nightmare to do... so everything he done on the field was a product of him working so hard at his craft which can be very inspiring... in his rookie year.. it was a disaster do to him dropping the ball all the time but he never gave up and became probably the razor receiver of all-time.. as a 49er fan... I know he played other teams like Raiders, Seahawks and the Broncos.. but he retired as a 49er and is actually a huge fan of the 49ers.. if you go back and watch the 2019 NFC championship between the 49ers and the Packers.. there are times that you see Jerry Rice getting all excited and cheering on the 49ers all rainy huge chain that says 49ers which was pretty awesome
A true icon
G.O.A.T
🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
The true phenomenon is that after Rice scored that last TD on Sept. 5 1994 to break Jim Brown's TD record he went on to score another 81 TDs. Also how fitting was it that when he passed Walter Payton and tied Brown he did it with a Rushing TD...
Truly the G.O.A.T
Even if all of these were TDs it would be less than 1/4 of his career total... GOAT
GOAT
You missed one. His 27 yard gain on 2nd and 20 that set up the Taylor td on the Super Bowl 23 final drive. Maybe the most important catch/run he made in a super bowl.
Still has an argument for greatest player of all time regardless of position
Look up G.O.A.T. In the dictionary and it reads JERRY RICE 🐐 💯
JR 80 THE GOAT
Jerry Lee Rice is the greatest
I know this is a Rice video, but damn...Joe Cool was ridiculous
There's clock speed and then there's Football speed. Rice was a rocket on the field. Would have been 22mph on the GPS easy. THE GOAT OF GOATS
I was watching melvin ingram tape and he’s really good when he’s healthy. Maybe we should give him one year deal. He played next to a bosa man he made a lot pressure for the right side. He covered too and ints balls. The goat JR 80.
Jerry Thrice
Do the 50 greatest Frank Gore plays next!
Dude said he's at the 20, 10, 15, 5! 😂😂😂
thought some of the highlights of him as a raider were painful but then i got to 7:18 :( guess i had deleted his time with hawks from my memories and now i cant go back.
MONTANA - RICE - YOUNG
NFL's HOLY TRINITY
49ers
What it his receptions or what he did after he caught the ball that made him the greatest?
I don’t wanna jinx anything but debone Samuel and trey could be the new Steve and jerry
This was way better than Joe’s top 50
My rottie ate my rice jersey. I lost my rice rookie card. Wish I was more responsible when I was a kid lol.
First
Aloha 49ers for life Just think if we had Jerry Rice Dwight Clark John Taylor Brent Jones together call Joe Montana and get Ricky Watters Roger Craig and tom Rathman Get all these great players and one team in the 80s and 90s team of the yearThat would be fantastic let’s go NINERSSS gang from Honolulu Hawaii Stanley (808) NINERSSS 🌈💥🏈💥🙏☝️😎👍🤙

How dare they show any other team but the niners
I think Jerrys best play was The Catch and it's not even in here, smh.
If you say Rice isn’t the goat WR your simply a hater or in denial
Rice isn't the goat!😂
He’s just like Michael Jordan and Kobe
G.O.A.T
