49GIANTWARRIORS i grew up watching this man torment my Rams. So i hate the 49ers but its just facts, Jerry Rice is the GOAT and he shouldve won multiple MVP awards
There will never ever be another Jerry Rice he played the game of football with honor and respect in my opinion the GOAT his records will stand for years because these guys today are all about money and Jerry Rice played the game because he loved it
Every time I see Jerry Rice catch a ball and hear those words, "TOUCHDOWN, Jerry Rice," my heart races and a little tear forms in my eyes, because I feel so very fortunate to have seen THE GREATEST football player EVER play on "my" team! THANK YOU, Jerry for all the thrills you gave us! Love "my" '9ers!
For all the INSANE numbers that dwarfed so many peers and then those who followed during his career that are, deserve to, or will be rightfully in the Hall of Fame (Irvin, Reed, Monk, Sharpe, Carter, Brown, Moss, T.O., Harrison, Holt, Fitzgerald, Ward, etc.), the thing that stands out for Rice to me is that you could take him AT ANY TIME IN HIS CAREER, and he was a productive player. Very good rookie year as a backup, insane 2nd year...already All Pro leading the league in yards and touchdowns even though Joe Montana missed 1/2 the season and Steve Young was still wallowing away in Tampa Bay. Then, expected to be 3x washed up in Oakland upon arriving at 38, he has 175 catches for 2350 yards and 16 touchdowns (not to mention another 27 for 434 and three TD's in the playoffs) in his year 39 and 40 seasons. AT WIDE RECEIVER. I can never say that enough on any post. The man was a borderline All Pro wide receiver at 40 years old. The go to receiver for a Super Bowl team at 40 years old. I mean, first off, I don't think there are any other receivers that PLAYED UNTIL 40, let alone balled out like that. But for comparison sake, Charlie Joiner retired at 39 after the 1986 season. He put up a very respectable 34 for 440 with 2 TD's in a pass friendly offense with the Chargers and Dan Fouts. Rice at the same age dropped an 83 for 1139 and 9 TD's. Literally had nothing to prove to anyone except Jerry Rice and he went out there and helped my Raiders sustain the return to prominence they had in 2000. Once again, and for the last time, don't compare this man to anyone else. There were plenty of athletes at the position, plenty of guys who could make sizzle plays. Rice could do that too. But ultimately, I don't wanna hear what someone could do, show me what they did. NO ONE, and I MEAN NO ONE, ever did more at any skill position in the history of pro football than Jerry Rice. And frankly it's not even close. There is no CLOSE second. He's the GOAT, irrespective of position, end of story. And even with all these rules designed to benefit pass catchers and the game being much more pass friendly, there's no one even on pace to catch him at a reasonable rate in either passes caught, yards gained, or touchdowns scored. Don't tell me what someone could do, show me what they did. Rice did it all.
Jerry Rice is the Greatest player in NFL History. What Michael did for Basketball, Gretzky for Hockey and The Babe in Baseball is amazing. My opinon here is set.
Jerry Rice was something special. He had it all being able to catch just about everything thrown at him and able to make an impact in the game whenever he had the ball in his hands. Truly deserving of the title of GOAT.
The most fantastic thing about this video is that FINALLY we get to see more than the ever played 5-6 TDs that are, indeed, more relevant. The guy has 200+, not to mention fantastic non-scoring plays. This is the only video I know that honors that.
Growing up in San Francisco in the 1980s and 1990s my favorite words on a Sunday were "Montana to Rice, Touchdown 49ers". Thanks. He is the Greatest. That Superb Owl against Denver was not as close as the score would indicate.
Rice's 2002 season stats when he was 40 years old would put him on par with 2021 Pro-Bowl WR Travis Kelce. He was just good in the 80's, he wasn't just good in the 90's, he was excellent in three different decades!
@@Slinginbackies Semantics. Dude is a glorified WR with a TE distinction. Doesn't block, lines up wide and standing up most of the time. Whatever...the point is, Rice was out there producing on that level at 40 years old, which is insane.
Best all-around video of the GOAT Jerry Rice. By far the greatest wide receiver in NFL and best at running after the catch, I can see him now taking a 7 yard slant pass and running in for a 70 yard touchdown,. And let's not forget he has 10 rushing touchdowns - can you think of any other wide receiver that has done that?
Deebo Samuel has 19 career rushing touchdowns! Not that it takes away from the incredible accomplishment of having 10 himself.. just felt like giving Deebo his shine! ✨
Bob Pants Yes better than Brady, Brady is overrated the league protects him and does whatever they can do to make him look good. He is a great QB but not as good as the NFL portrays

I finally met Rice after the game in Atlanta when we lost to the Falcons their super bowl dirty bird year, yeah that one. No words, no words. The dude is just pure freak of talent. He makes the field all his.
I remember watching him break Jim Brown's record live. Gives me goosebumps watching it again. That 94 season was such sweet revenge against the Cowboys, the most memorable for me, and topping it off w/ being the 1st team to win 5 championships. Jerry Rice was a huge piece to that puzzle

@@Lish44 Montana was heads and shoulders above him. I watched both careers in their entirety, and closely, and I can say that Montana was more clutch & precise. Just a complete technician on the gridiron, and a field general. Young was fantastic, and the fact that he was a lefty that could scramble sensibly, really gave him an All-Pro wrinkle that few other QB' have ever had. What has always bothered me were the constant playoff losses to upstart teams by Young. Sometimes it wasn't all his fault, and he was the victim of poor team management at times as well. But with Steve, with the exception of one season, 94, I never said to myself: "jeeze that playoff win was all because of Steve, he took this Niners team on his shoulders and carried him past a better team." There were just too many bad playoff losses at home, and early exits . . . in many regards Steve's career resembles Peyton Manning's, with Peyton being lucky enough to have one more Super Bowl at the very end of his career. Peyton was the king of "one and dones"...in fact he holds the NFL record for most first round losses with a 1 or 2 seed. Many people conveniently forget that fact when they shout out that Manning is the G.O.A.T., which is just a complete joke.

Ma Montana was only good because of Rice. Young had talent but people need to stop overrating Montana already. Dude didn't do jackshit in Kansas but you people prop him up like he's the goat when he played on stacked teams and was a system of Walsh. Never even threw for 4,000 yards even though he had Rice in his prime but Young did with Rice. All Montana did was was Young's prime.
"Montana was only good because of Rice." Joe won two Superbowls and was league MVP before Rice came along. "people need to stop overrating Montana already. Dude didn't do jackshit in Kansas" Kansas City didn't make the playoffs the year before Joe came... the first year he came they went 11-5, won the division and went to the AFC Championship game? At this point Joe was nearing 40 years old, and although he continued to play a couple more years he was clearly past his prime. Rice was great. Young was great. Montana was great... bottom line. Why do so many ignorant people post on message boards?
@gustinn3509 Man please. That's why I said stacked teams. He didn't win Ronnie Lott got there either. And here you go giving him all the credit for why Kansas went 11-5 not the defense. The dude only threw 13 TD's his first year. How on earth is he the main reason they went 11-5 with just 2,000 yards and 13 TD's? Y'all just some fanboys who don't want to admit the truth. Montana is nothing but a system QB. Accept it or not IDGAF. He's still from my viewpoint nothing but system QB who was lucky to be on stacked teams that hid his flaws and that really showed and don't give me the age shit because Manning, Brees, Brady, Rodgers all played great in their later years even if they were playing in an Era with rule changes. You mfs will come up with any excuse to overrated QB's.

I mean, to me, that is a REASON why he had such inflated numbers.
Chills reading this and I’m only 28 🙌
For all the INSANE numbers that dwarfed so many peers and then those who followed during his career that are, deserve to, or will be rightfully in the Hall of Fame (Irvin, Reed, Monk, Sharpe, Carter, Brown, Moss, T.O., Harrison, Holt, Fitzgerald, Ward, etc.), the thing that stands out for Rice to me is that you could take him AT ANY TIME IN HIS CAREER, and he was a productive player.

30 mins of highlights. Greatest NFL player.
It’s still amazing what rice did in Oakland those two years. He was 39 and 40 yet he had seasons probably better than guys 15 years younger than him
His third year was going to be better but rich Gannon got hurt and rice got phased out, coaching changes too
Rice's 2002 season stats when he was 40 years old would put him on par with 2021 Pro-Bowl WR Travis Kelce.
He was just good in the 80's, he wasn't just good in the 90's, he was excellent in three different decades!
@softspokengamer is there 2 travis kelces? The one that plays on the chiefs is a tight end.

I have never played organized football in my life, but I think I could be a QB on any team and win with Jerry Rice as my go-to receiver, and become a HoF'er myself. If you can get the ball even close to Jerry, it is caught for six.

Kansas City didn't make the playoffs the year before Joe came... the first year he came they went 11-5, won the division and went to the AFC Championship game?

@gustinn3509 Man please. That's why I said stacked teams. He didn't win Ronnie Lott got there either. And here you go giving him all the credit for why Kansas went 11-5 not the defense.
