I have a plastic slide board that rolls up with metal bumpers on either end. I will try amount that to a piece of plywood instead so the bumpers don't slide off or curl up
Hi Mark! Wonderful demo and what a great idea for saving a lot of money. Mark, instead of laying a melamine veneer on top of a plywood board as you have done, do you think one could just buy a 3/4 melamine board (3/4x30"x72", or 5/8x48"x96") like they sell at Home Depot? Much thanks for any advice!
What is that you used under the board again please. We too crafted a board like this for our daughter. But still looking as to how to fix it on the floor so it doesn't move
I use a rug gripper. I’m not sure if that’s what it’s called. I got it at Home Depot it goes under rugs so rugs don’t slide on the floor. I stapled some of that to the bottom of the slide board
Looks like no one responded to you. He used Armor All, which is a product in the US for detailing car tires and interior plastic such as your dashboard. Any spray lubricant should do the trick as long as it sticks to the board without easily coming off when you slide. Not sure if he chose Armor All for lowest cost or best performance - probably just had it in the garage already.
Jessie Peterson because they didn’t talk to an orthopedic surgeon first. There was a physical therapist clinic i used to work with on exercise equipment. they had a slide board that was really bad. he ask if I could make him one and I did and with his specific recommendations on the board is how it was made.
@@knifetoenail I appreciate the quick response, thank you for your clarification. I also couldn't tell throughout the video if it was still slanted as you were in the building process after you made it slanted. I just wanted to make sure it still was, and why it was!
Did not work for me. Bought melamine board from home depot, put armorall, put spray wax, used woolen socks, but I can not slide. Its just not slippery enough to slide. Not sure if I have to use different socks or different lubricant but this setup did not work for me.
One note about the slip, I am 6’1” and had to push fairly hard to make it all the way across to the other bumper. As I trained people I found that shorter people had trouble making it all the way across the board. The fix was to make a shorter board or put an adjustment board in between. If you’re short and out of shape you won’t make it across. Remember, it’s supposed to be a workout.
It's almost as if I just watched a techy Bob Ross
For some reason, I immediately trust this guy. I think it's the mustache.
BlckCloud73 mustache is gone now. Juda Freelander made fun of it at a show saying it was a 70’s porno mustache. By by stash
WOW, very slippery like one of those expensive ones
This is awesome! Shall be making myself one of these! thanks!
Thanks best video I seen in a while I smiled the whole way through! Now to make a slide board...

Ten to fifteen for sure
£250 to buy, this video is brilliant. Very entertaining, going to make two next time I've got a week off
You had me at Thundercats shirt. Alright, lets do this. *upon second inspection* it' just a cat. Close enough. Lets slide

hey Mark, awesome video! ...Greetings from Colombia-South America, can you please tell me what is the name of the liquid you use in the spray? thanks
Armor all
Great video. What do you call the white layer you used for the board and where can you buy it? Thanks boss 🙂

They only have 1/4" when I made the video. If its just as slick then yes you can and it may be better.
Hi mark, you still using your slide board? Great project!
Yes I am!
Couldn’t you have made two slide boards out of the 4x8 sheets cut in half, if you wanted to use 2x4’s as the stop boards?
Sure could

What would you recommend using for the shoes to slide on the board?
Jessie Peterson socks work fine
construction booties might work too.
will you slide with the slide booties too? i prefer to wear sneakers
HI mark , what is that spary u used ?

I don't get here much anymore. Sorry! I use Armor all. It has to be a dry subtrance for whatever you use. Wet lubes will slow it down.
what is the white board made of?
sheldon nimetz melamine. I got it at Home Depot
sheldon nimetz melomine
Why do you make it slanted on each side? I understand you explain it for biomechanical purposes, but why are other slide boards straight on the ends?

Did you put your socks over your shoes? Can you send me a picture of the board and the socks? I used regular cotton sport socks A lot of the time
Don’t use spray wax I think that will slow you down clean it off and use just the armor all
