    I recently bought a Stoeger Coach gun because of Army of Darkness. One of my favorite movies of all time. In case nobody knew, they are made by Boito and known as the A680. Parts are more easily available if you search Boito. I took it to the range for the local gun club skeet shoot. I'm in no way an expert marksman at skeet. This was only my second time. Anyways, I ended up being tied for first with 2 other people. The guy next to me gave me a compliment, said he'd never seen anyone shoot skeet, with a coach gun as good as me. I told him I guess I'll be using it for now on. The time before I used a bullpup and I did terrible.

    And to go with what you was talking about regarding sawing off shotguns, a buddy of mine did it to a 20 gauge. He got busted for something completely unrelated. Probably would have only got a year for what he originally got in trouble for. But once they found he sawed off the 20 gauge down to the furniture, he got almost 10 years for it. In the feds.

      Channel123 well California has very harsh gun laws. So it’s hard to tell what is considered legal. New York for instance is very hard to get a handgun license now. It takes up to a year to get. But the truth, we may never know why the gun became a coach gun

Can't get a Stevens 311? An IGA/Stoeger Coach Gun is close enough. Only genuine-article gun-nutters (like muhself) would notice the difference. They're both hammerless boxlocks. The Stoeger has a beefier forearm. Beavertail forearms are the best on a side-by-side. Splinter forearms suck.

    No less than 18 Inch barrel
    No less than 26 for the whole
    You measure by inserting a tape measure down the barrel
    To a closed action. This is the true way to measure a barrel.

  • @judsongaiden9878
    @judsongaiden9878 9 місяців тому +2

    Ash uses a different gun in each movie. In TED, it's a generic single-shot 20-gauge, possibly a Harrington & Richardson. In ED2, he uses a Stevens 311 with 28" barrels that he trims down to about 12". In AoD, it's what you pointed out, an IGA/Stoeger Coach Gun with 20" barrels.
    The Gun Control Act of 1934 is the reason we have to go through red tape to legally own proper short-barrel shotguns, requiring paperwork and a transfer tax, all of which is unconstitutional. Same for guns that have full-auto or burst-fire modes.
    2:28 Ackchyually, it's 18". The extra half inch is just to factor out any margin of error to our system being overly litigious and repressive. Aside from an 18" barrel length limit, it also has to be at least 26" in overall length. I always chortle to myself whenever I hear people claim that "laws" are based on morality. "Laws" made by the weak will be abolished by the strong.
    3:03 Where are you getting that information? Shotguns can maim, sure, but they're made to kill.

      Not if you use proper technique. Scott from Kentucky Ballistics has a 10-gauge, but he also has a 4-gauge, and he's able to handle those just fine. Of course, he's built like a Terminator, so that helps. I wonder if he's ever shot a Fat-Mac in .950 JDJ. He can handle a 4-gauge, so he could handle a .950 just fine.

    • @judsongaiden9878

      The Ash Vs. Evil Dead one most likely isn't a Stoeger despite what IMFDB says. They just use a Stoeger as a generic example. Stoeger doesn't put "splinter" forearms on any of their side-by-sides (by all means correct me if I'm wrong). All of theirs have the beefier and more favorable "beavertail" style of forearm. All the double-barrel shotguns that Ash uses are side-by-side hammerless boxlocks with double triggers.

    • @landobrown186

      @@judsongaiden9878 I'll be damned. Imfdb is crap with break action shotguns. I looked at it more and I'm thinking they went back to the Stevens 311. I also found one of the rubber props that was auctioned and it is definitely not modeled after a Stoeger. So we have the Winchester 37A > Stevens 311 > Stoeger IGA Coach then the Stevens 311 again? That's my bet for now.

    Can you fire both barrels at once? I've been buying up guns from the movies lately. So far I got almost all of the Terminator guns with the exception of the Vulcan minigun and grenade launcher. (Obviously).I have m60 rambo had. I also have the four screw 8 3/4 inch barrel 44 magnum from dirty Harry. I plan on getting a double barrel Remington with a walnut stock because I was a fan of the evil Dead franchise

    • @brettsgroovychainsaws5995
      @brettsgroovychainsaws5995  3 роки тому +1

      Yes both will fire at the same time if both triggers are pulled at the same time

    • @judsongaiden9878
      @judsongaiden9878 9 місяців тому

      Any double-barrel with double triggers can fire a Do0m 2-style double-shot. Just be careful doing it because it's not pleasant (speaking from experience here). Most side-by-sides are hammerless boxlocks with double triggers and extractors. Fancier models might have ejectors. Believe it or not, a single selective trigger is considered favorable since most shotgun sportspersons try NOT to fire double-shots.
      Remington hasn't made a side-by-side for generations, but they do make over/unders. Expect to pay through the nose, though. Not sure why, but fancy-pants double-barrels often cost a lot more than pump-actions even if they're the same brand. As simple as pump-action shotguns are, break-open guns are even simpler. Maybe you're paying for both the name and the taste of tradition...or something.
      Anyway, none of the shotguns Ash uses are made by Remington. Not sure who wrote that line, but the blatant falseness of it resulted in a joke in 'My Name Is Bruce' where he refers to a .45 long-slide as a ".31 longbow." It's the same make and model of .45 long-slide that Arnie used in 'The Terminator', an AMT Hardballer.
