My now wife and I traveled by bike to kanchanaburi from Bangkok when it was 44 degrees! Yikes. We found a huge cave on a mountain. A waterfall with fish that nibble on you and visited the ww2 railroad museum. Next up baan chaang!
You took the words write out of my mouth, Peter. Best city in the world?! You got that right Chris. Watching your videos everytime they are uploaded gives me that little connection i need to keep me going until I can get back there. Big love my guy.
Dude, this is such an awesome place and we want to visit! I love how genuine this group is. I'm just now subscribing, but my wife and I watch your videos on our TV most of the time! So I figured I'd jump on my laptop here so I could comment. We are planning to visit Thailand again next year, and soon after plan to stay there for several months (toying with the idea of moving there!)
I really appreciate you efforts, glad I found your Chanel. I am only 53 and have considered retirement as well with a purpose however. I have been lucky enough to to have lived in Central America and China for 4 years. You are an inspiration. Keep up the great work
I would have chosen #2 cabin too! When I got to feed elephants in Thailand, they always grabbed the food with their trunks. I have never seen anyone feed directly into their mouths! I am a little jealous I didn't get to experience that! I love that they say it is not a sanctuary, it is home. Warms my heart! Thanks for taking us with you to this beautiful place. I hope that the Covid situation allows me to travel back to Thailand sooner than later. Until then, I will live vicariously through you!
I did watch it all the way to the end. it is now the first elephant sanctuary I have wanted to stay at - so thank you for that. I have been to one further north, it was too much like a circus
Chris this is awesome, well done. I watched this with my 13 year old as an educational/geography concept within his home schooling time. Keep them coming !
I really want to visit this place now. You make it sound so exciting! I had never really given Thailand much consideration, but watching your videos, you're giving me such an authentic experience, not some edited Instagram version that's not representative of the truth. Thank you!
cool man. i bet you are really looking forward to getting back here. hopefully soon. i'm heading to samui on june 20 for 10 days. wish you were gonna be down there!
@@RetiredWorkingForYou It's all about Khun Prayut what day I'm heading back... Guess we will see us on your over next visit in Samui. And I will throw a party then :)
Now that was one of your best videos. Really loved it! Such a beautiful place. Will try to experience the same thing once Thailand opens up again! Oh yeah, Option 2 of the huts was my vote. You stayed there!
Just found out about your chanel and just came back from Thailand my second home that I missed already I'll be happy to follow your adventures and everyday life in the Kingdom, khup khun khrap 🙏
Love it! and yes Coffee shops exceed expectations, and allow one to step-off the Star#uck treadmill! ..........and the journey continues! Thank you for bringing us along for the ride!

Yeah it was a great getaway from BKK. And real close and easy to get to as well. I want to go back to Kanchanaburi and spend a night there too. Thanks for watching Nikster!
I think that this was one of my favourite vids that you have done. They are such majestic creatures and we have been lucky enough to spend time with both Indian and African elephants. Elephants home has def gone on the list of places to visit next time I am in Bangkok. So you say Starbucks is a no go but you still go to Timmy's, is this double standards!!- I think that they should both be blacklisted although Cafe Amazon is also a massive state owned concern so maybe we should add that too and support the small artisinal guys
I'm jealous as all hell, wish I could go there. We visited NP a few years ago, the Thai Human Imagery Museum on the way back to Bangkok is fun. I would have picked number 2 as well : )
Another masterpiece! "This ones for you, Timmy!" 5555. I loved the explanation the lady gave as to the connection to the elephants. Incredible and 100% on Amazon cafe! And hut #2! Apocalypse Now ref..."what an idiot" hahaha. Outstanding.

I tried to google the name and it takes me to a Facebook page but i can't find a direct link. Can you please tell me? Thank you!

The correct pronunciation of the River Kwai is "Quare" - just like the word "care". Kwai means Buffalo in Thai.
