i agree just as good as the fuel line removal on that own snowblower or snowmobil a few years back i forget wich one i know it was a small engine and it put up a fight haha had me laughing that time to
I was in a motorcycle accident about 3 weeks ago(school bus parked on top of me). It’s been a lot of rough nights and days. I’m a fairly simple man, and thankfully I found your channel. You’ve helped me through a lot of the painful nights I can’t sleep, and the days I’ve spent laying around waiting for doctors/surgeries. Thanks Derek for your dedication and hard work to entertainment.
Sorry man, I hope you heal quick, and can get back to it. I found this channel while out with a really bad herniation, it's a pretty good catalog to get through.
Dude. Feel better. I got a nephew that just got out of the ICU the other day. A coworker rolled the work truck. Two broken vertebrae, and a list of other breaks, but today he was walking with a walker. 13 days after the wreck. These young guys. I tell ya. But hang in there. One of these days, you'll be able to light up a torch and cut a shool bus right in half. The long way.
Sorry man. I just had to tell someone about my nephew. I'm so relieved I can taste it. But VGG has amazing content, you (I) can (do) watch for hours. Let me know if you need a heads-up for a similar channel.

Maybe your upholstery guy can make you a new headliner and recover those sun visors. This car definitely deserves some loving restoration. I look forward to each and every video Derek...they are always entertaining. Much love to you and your family from a 77-year old Grandma!❤
@@Carol-lg6bkHi Carol, I'm😊 also77, I remember well working with the hubby on weekends, the neighbors , the dinners, late night. Just to get to work Monday. Lots of love to you and your family.
Sadly the Chilton shop manual neglected to include that procedure. It says something in the index about "liability issues" blah blah, Oh whatever Chilton! ;-)
I love this show. Derek is a living example of the American dream personified. He started in his little garage in MN and, with the help of his wife, built his own business. He remains humble and does not exploit people or things to his advantage. He has actually helped me stop obsessing over dents and scratches. I sold my brand new truck and bought a dented up Chevy and old mini van. Down to earth guy.
My one experience with a hydro boost braking system was on a 76 Chevy 3+3 Camper Special with a 454 and 4speed manual. Got it all done after all the minor mechanical etcetera work, drove it 30 miles to town to get it certified, and all went great until I had to brake hard to dive into an off camber exit off the TransCanada highway. Let me tell you that having seconds to decide on brakes or steering definitely makes the old adrenaline rush work in a hurry. Thank heavens for manual transmissions.
@@CableWrestler You'All should be well aware that Derek and Jessica do not get involved in, with restorations of vehicles, Derek perform revivals, sometimes then makes necessary improvements including the interior as replacing, reupholstering the seats, changing the carpet, door panels if needed or necessary. Derek, a couple tips. For the seat, don't trash it. I believe the tracks of a regular 80's regal with power seats can be swapped over and you'll be back in business there with full power. Or you could swap over tracks from a manual seat and be in good shape too. If you do replace the seats, save those seat covers. OEM covers are hard to come by. For the snake belt, check the length. It may be 1/2" too long. For many years the parts books quoted a snake belt that was 1/2" too long and that unloaded the idler pulley just a bit too much allowing the idler pulley yo contact one of the bolt heads and chew up the bolt and the pulley. It'll run, but it will chew up parts and possibly set off the knock detector making the ECM pull timing every time it sees the false knock from the pulley contacting the bolt head. For wheels, look for a set of aluminum T-Type wheels. They're much lighter than the OEM steel wheels and they look like a WE4. They're cheap and you can get some pretty wide wheels for the rear. Steamroller looking stuff. It can still roast them too. So good to see the old gal on the road again. A while back I was considering contacting you about my 86 to see if you were interested since you had said you were looking for one, but I never did. Mine was a daily driver back in the day. Now it just waits for me to do something with it. Enjoy the GN, they are fantastically fun cars and no matter how old you are, they make you feel like a kid again. And when the boost comes up high enough, they make you feel like a stupid kid again. 🙂 Can't wait to see more of the GN in the future.
From 10:15 to 12:50, Derek perfectly captured the moments of the mental breakdown in the garage. The uncanny resemblance to myself (only replacing the light saber with a a 30 second flare of newly manufactured vulgarity) created an existential flashback to every single instance I've had to resort to such aggression.
I love the seat removal methods!! 🤣 Derek, your video editing skills are right up there with your ability to get engines running that have been sitting under water in the woods for 47.3 years. Thanks for all your hard work. It does not go unappreciated.
I missed viewing this first thing on Friday night due to a hospital visit / surgery. Home now recovering the best medicine possible; with this latest episode to lift my spirits! Thank, VGG!
I think if there is one car in your stable to do an actual restoration on this would be a good candidate. I know your philosophy is to get ‘em running and get ‘em back on the road and this is a pretty rough example but it’s still a GN and they are only going to gain value/collectibility plus it make for something a little bit different for the channel. I’m sure there’s a portion of your fanbase that isn’t into the whole patina thing and would like to see how *you* would go about building a “shiny” car.
Feel the necessity to concur and add another affirmation to this here idear. I'd love to suggestalize something funky for it, but a guy just can't rationalize muckin with the Darth Vader vibe and going with anything other than gettin the ol' girl Back in Black!
I’d love to see a rattle can paint job. A full on restauration can allways be done ‘off camera’. But paints have improved so much that you can do so much with rattlecans these days.
Dear Derek, I'm 17 and in just a few weeks I'll be working on my first project, a 1975 Chevrolet Nova (nothing special, it's just a factory base model) that used to belong to a family member, and can I just say you give me the encouragement and the motivation to work on it thanks to the amount of knowledge and helpful tips you always give (plus your optimism is priceless) so thank you so much, and God bless you (Greetings from the Philippines by the way)
@@OneOut1 we've only bought so far the essentials and what's needed for it to run, and it's an I6 car so it's already expected to start without much work (and I didn't say this but the car sat since 2012 which is the last registration on the windshield)
Out of all the videos I've watched on here, the Bland national is probably one of my favourites, seeing your reaction to the boost was just something. May not be alot of boost but you could just tell it was pure Joy for you. So so jealous of all the cool cars you guys have the chance to own and work on in the US, we have literally nothing like this in the UK.
Just commencing the watch. Yeah, I watched when Derek took the trip to bring it back home but wasn't able to at the time. Now I'm super pumped that he's worked through enough of the other projects that the GN is now on his list to get ready for the street. We all hope he decides to pull the body for a full restro OR raffle it off to someone who has nothing else on their plate and can bring this beauty back to a fully restored Buick
As a shady tree mechanic hobbyist, I concur. Nearly snorted whiskey through my nose when he ate the old candy and immediately spit it out. Heard my deceased Grandpa screaming, "DON'T DO THAT BOY!"
I remember the first time I ever saw a Grand National in the mid 90s instantly thought it was the coolest car I ever saw. I hope to own one some day too. I think it is awesome that you saved this one, even though it's a bit rough. Also, the seat removal part of the video, I was really laughing out loud.
“Like you guys I work alone most of the time”….I hear you on that one. Perfect formula for turning a simple thirty minute task into a six hour ordeal, but what’s time when when you’re having fun. Enjoyed the video. That car deserves more attention. Nice job so far. 👍
This is by far the only channel worth watching! Friday nights have always been the best but you make them even more gooder for a feller. Thanks for all you do.
My old neighbor had the cleanest GN I have ever seen. It was 32,000 original and he drove it once a week and would come back and wash/wax it. He took me for a few rides and it was the car that got me hooked on boost. Love this car!!
Derek is there any way to get like an autograph sent to germany? i would pay for it because i collect this sort of stuff. Only from real people and not celebrities....
Nice episode, and a great start to the weekend! The seat removal scenes were priceless LOL! Derek has the most charisma and humor of any of the car revival channels. Always entertaining and informative as well. By the way, at the time when they were new, the Grand National was the most stolen car, apparently. Keep doing your thing, Derek, I'll tune in every time.
Hey Derek, Jessica. Old guy in UK here. Still own but used to race an ole mopar with a strokar. Life and all kinda got in the way for many some years and the ole rig got neglected. Found your channel during lockdown and got addicted but inspired. Mostly fixed up now but driving better than ever dodging the speed cameras all over here in UK. Thank you for the inspiration and giving me confidence to go back to it all, getting dirty, bruised, sometimes frustrated but always having fun. The parts guys in US have made me poorer (shipping to UK HURTS) but they prolly wouldn’t have got the £££$$ if I’d not stumbled into you a year or two back. Rockauto owes you a fair few 00$ in commission! Best wishes, thank you and please do your thing.
My older son has an 86 442 that he got for his 16th birthday. We redid that car over several years (he still has it). Every time you work on this, we both have flashbacks to those days. Hard to believe it’s been 12 years. Thanks as always for the great content, and thanks for the memories. ~ Chuck. P.S. My wife says she knows exactly how Jessica felt bleeding the brakes as well.
When I was 18, I bought a 1988 Mustang GT. My first street race with the Mustang was against a 1987 Buick Grand National. I was two cars ahead at the start, but the turbo kicked in and ultimately, the Stang couldn't hang. Nothing but respect for these dominating muscle cars of the 80's and 90's. Derek, I would love to see this car restored to all of it's glory!!!
That canister that's mounted on the side of the Hydra actuator is spring loaded and pressurized, just in case you throw a belt or the engine stalls. You will have two or three additional power assisted stops from the booster. A very nice safety feature! Good work Derek!
So looking forward to seeing more of the Bland National. That wash and paint detail will make it look sharp again. I can kinda feel that a feller wants to keep this one, and I am looking forward to any improvements coming up. Might be cool to do a VGG logo on the hood to cover the rust, make it look like the 70's Firebird logo with an eagle instead. With VGG emblazoned in red, white and blue colors. Thank you for the quality entertainment, and have a great day!
Thank you, Derek! I have immense sympathy, I am 5' 18" and have many years with my knees in my kisser. Keep up the terrific work, you're inspiring to this 85 year old Vietnam veteran. Thanks, again!
This thing is the ONE car of yours that really NEEDS a full restoration. Of all the cars this one deserves it the most. Take your time, do it correctly. It deserves to be babied and I think you are one of the best people for it! Paint def needs to be kept as is with a bit of love put into it to really show the history of the car but the rest of it, make it better then new!!
I sure would love to see you make this one shiny and bring it back to its former glory. If you decide to just throw some shine juice on it and keep the patina, maybe consider making the interior super nice. 🤷♂️
Man, that angle and the music at 1:02:50-1:03:15 is a legend moment to see that from that angle on the country road with all the scratches and decaying car still going with the windows down I love it. Gets me emotional. I used to ride in old decaying cars with my dad on country roads listening to some rock and roll with the smell of exhaust fumes windows down. torn up head liners-stained carpets. I love it. Brings out the male in a guy and feels good. There is nothing like it. Also really makes you feel American. True American. Great video.
It seems these episodes just keep getting better. I am excited to see where you take the Bland National next. Maybe some VGG Shine Juice... Whatever it is you are doing....you manage to do the same thing over and over....and yet there is something new and refreshing about each chapter. I laughed out load seeing you in the straw hat.. and the seat removal goes up there next to "Whos On First" for sheer funny. 😂😂😂
When Derek grabs on something and Jerks on it violently, and says “help me understand!” It makes me laugh so hard I almost start crying! Derek Is obviously a very talented mechanic, but also he is very funny to!😂😂
When working on my truck I found myself doing the same thing! I yell “ Help me understand!!!” At the top of my lungs then sit there laughing at myself….!😂
This is the best Friday I have had in a hot minute. VGG, Cleetus, and Grind Hard Plumbing all posted in one day when I actually have time to watch. God bless America 🎉
Beautiful car Derek, love the way you fawn over this one. Ive always had a soft spot for the Grand National, and after watching you try so hard to get this one on the road, only to have your hopes dashed by the worst brake system GM ever designed, it feels real good to see it back on the road! An idea for the exterior, maybe a real nice coat of deep black, followed by about 6 coats of candy, make that car look like a real night shadow!!!!
I haven't got Grand National seat, but I did find this highly entertaining to watch. I can understand how frsutrated you must have been with it, but you still maanaged to add some fun to it. I am glad you got this old girl running again and on the road. She deserves a full restoration. Thanks for brightening my week :)
The candy taste test in the beginning had me rolling. 😂 never a dull moment with our friday evening VGG video. as always great video. Thanks for the awesome content. I'd love to have that Grand National. my dad had one as I was a kid. I remember bits and pieces of the car. it was his baby. I think he loved it more than us kids.😂
It’s really great that you have car giveaways, but what I would sign up for in a heartbeat is a chance to tag along with you on a revival. Growing up I took many trips with my dad in cars with questionable mechanical histories and never knowing what the next mile might bring…your videos bring back a lot of memories!
GREAT SAVE . Love my 1987 Turbo Regal for the past 30 years. Thanks for saving this important piece of American automotive history . Can't wait to see what's next for the car .
Man!! I guy can’t believe how busy that car is under the hood, I thought you were restoring the space shuttle, thanks for another great video Derek and family and professional seat removal 👍👍
it’s rare to see our guy in anything boosted, but this Buick is right for VGG & our community. very nice pickup, Derek…your buddy that showed up in his premium GN has one of the finest examples of one anywhere.
What you want is a driver's side seat track from a 1987 or 88 G body with either bucket or split bench seats. GM redesigned the track for the last year and eliminated the plastic gear box. It uses 3 separate motors instead and is far more reliable.
Your smile says it all. Im glad you got a car on the ole bucket list you really enjoy. Who cares what others think so long as your happy. Ill be watching how this gal comes around. Super awesome car 🚗.
I absolutely enjoyed this live video bud. You had me falling out my couch laughing so hard.. especially when u were handling that seat hahaha 😂😂 there isn't no one funnier and better than you Derek. I've been a huge fan since day one of your debut. I've watched every video 10+ times & still never get sick of them. You've really helped me out in life. I'm unfortunate enough to not be able to work on cars anymore due to my chronic spine, but you've been my inspiration to get out of my depression. You are the most talented mechanic car enthusiast I've ever known or seen. There's no one like you bro. Your absolutely amazing bud. I love your humor. The last few videos & recoveries haven't been as funny as tonight and this is who I love and miss. Keep up the awesome work bro & keep us laughing...love you man!!
as someone who also has chronic back pain from broken bones and ole uncle authoritis (that's what my family calls it ) i can attest that Derek lets us live through his videos..stay positive and don't let that ole back get ya down..sendin some feel good vibes and well wishes from Alabama
Hey Derrick , love the show ! You can bleed the brakes by yourself pretty much the same as the Master, just put a hose on the bleeder nipple and put the other end in a bottle of brake fluid. Same priciple .
Love the grand nationals and the bland national since the first video of it! Hope to see this more in the future! Watching you work on stuff sure gives me the courage to tackle more complex jobs on my own rides
I bought an ‘87 GN way back in 19 an 89…. The cool thing about it was that no one really knew what it was. I could smoke pretty much anything with it and it was also great for grabbing groceries. Definitely the ultimate machines back then. It’s amazing to me how they all look the same… dirty, rusty, clean, shiny- they seem to have the same attitude, they command respect and admiration. Great work Sir
Absolutely awesome, glad to see things came together for brakes, I do agree that seat removal was the absolute best I have seen hands down! I have wanted to get ahold of a Grand National myself but haven't managed too yet. I would love to see more on this car and a good pressure washing with most likely shine juice seems like a good next step. Keep doing what you do and stay safe!

Thank you for spending so much of your time and energy and time away from your family to bring us such awesome content. It is very informative for us car guys!!!!
EASILY my favourite car ever to feature on the channel. Please, please keep it as original as possible. It's a beaut! Being an Aussie 🇦🇺 I didn't even know these things existed. In love with it now! Thanks Derek for introducing me to a potential new money pit 😢🤣
Another great episode! Grand Nationals are awesome cars and to this day they are right up there with top 5 classics! What ever you do to the Bland National all your subscribers will watch. Doesn’t Matter if it’s a full resto or you turn it into a demo car… we will watch you! You have brought so many memories to all of us. From riding next to grandpa in his square body to middle school watching hot rods drive by to high school with the Grand Nationals and 3rd gen Camaros.. (just watched the white 3rd gen video for the 37th time Thursday night) We love what you have done for us subscribers and I’m pretty sure we would watch you rebuild a little kids power wheels Jeep from the 80’s for 3 hours. I can’t thank you enough Derek and your family!! Your the best!!!
I would love, LOVE!, to someday own one of these iconic cars. Great video Derek. I really enjoyed seeing it "come back around" in the road test part of the video. Looking forward to seeing more of this rig in future episodes.
Thanks Derek. Awesome video, This has been my favorite episode by far in a while. You seemed less hurried and more relaxed. Whatever it is keep truckin' bro.
hi 100% agree not to sound old but I am back in the day somewhere in derricks video. You would laugh 😂😂he’s back. !!! what are use the cinder block as sandpaper. It was on a pick up truck that he gave his brother. So Funny. !!!
Hey Derek, not sure if it would have applied in this situation, but when I used to work on flood cars with extremely lock a cated motors, we would just use any random motor drive with a drill under the seat and move each side little by little.
If the vacuum leak wasn't fixed, you're venting metered air into the atmosphere while under boost, which is part of why it's running rich - the more boost you try to make, the more you're going to blow out! It's also hard on the turbo since it has to spin faster to build the requested pressure. Very cool project, would make a great resto-mod series!
It’s always good to see a Feller get something he’s hoped for and prayed for ! It’s very gratifying driving something like that especially after wrenching on it yourself! They are fun cars , the Buick turbo 6 cylinder grand nationals were a very fast car for a V-6!!! I almost bought one back when they were hot off the presses the GNX is the really hot one , but they are all fun to drive! I knew that seat was going to turn into a fiasco ! They were crap when they were new! You know that plastic housing that exploded! My 1967 Pontiac Firebirds cam timing chain gear teeth were coated with that crap all in the name of being quiet! Till one day I went to start it to go to work and the car literally “ shit itself” in the garage the broken disintegrated plastic filled all the oil galleries, caused so much pressure in the oil filter it blew off the mount, oh a Feller was using Fram oil filters back then! 🤫I totally rebuilt that motor .30 over new hydraulic Sig Erson cam , lifters, new 650 Carter AFB . New exhaust with Turbo mufflers really nice tones! Hauled ass too! Makes a Feller proud! Keep up the good work Derek them little fellers you’ve got around there sure grow up fast! Our three girls did the same thing , we have 11 grand kids now! A blessing one and all! Our best you you all! Regards Mad Mike S. ………
Super cool episode as always, seeing the struggles along the way makes me feel connected because my old Volkswagens always seem to fight me too but it's all the more satisfying when I get things fixed or upgraded!
The look on your face and the sound of your voice when you put the onions to that Buick "Bland National" was priceless !! 😀 I can not wait for the rest of the videos. Congratulations to Megan for winning the Mountain Dew car !!
Well, well. I'm a contractor and wannabe hack weekend mechanic. I've got several Powerstroke trucks and knew 2 things about hydroboost. 1. My trucks have it. 2. If you blow a line you have no steering or breaks and almost wipe out a row of parked cars 😂 Now I understand the principles and how it works. Awesome video.
This is what racing is about, having fun and not needing to spend huge money! It’s so great to watch congratulations to all involved it’s awesome thank you
Excellent episode Derek! Glad to see that Grand National didn't fight ya to hard. :) Quick question, what ever happened to your nascar burnout truck? I feel like you finished it for a contest in Florida and then it disappeared. Really hoping to see it some more. Regardless, you have the best channel on the internet.
Had a rough day today, so I’m glad I saved this episode until after the day’s “festivities”. I’m really trying to carve out some time for my project cars, but that’s hard nowadays. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you, Derek!
Yes! I love this project and I’ve been itching for the pt. 2! I’ll watch whatever you decide to do with this ol girl! I’d love to see the Bland National stick around for a long time. (Seat removal will be an all time VGG highlight in my book)
2 Things in this video 1 the way that drivers seat was removed pure class👍 2 did I see Derek's cap on the bench which means it's removable thought it was a permanent attachment. Seriously though a Great video on the grand national thankyou 🇺🇸👍
This is by far the best Display of how to remove a seat ive ever seen. Rolling on my floor currently. Derek is the funniest guy ive ever seen. never stop being you.
Pulled an '86 regal 5.0 out of a field up in Oklahoma. Had a rod knock that a new crank fixed up. Roller cam/rockers(!), old non-smog Rottonchester 4bbl, headers off a '76 olds, lots of fun to drive! Still looks like it just came out of the field. An absolute hoot, inspired by you! KEEP IT COOKIN'!
The thing I like most about VGG is that he seems humble and isn’t flashy with buying expensive new stuff every week like some other UA-camrs. Hope he stays this way and doesn’t let the UA-cam revenue change him.
That was the BEST driver's seat removal I have ever seen 😂
Laughed so much with DB's antics trying the different odd items... I'm laughing now just thinking about it while I type this comment.
I belly laughed at that part. I think we've all been there with some part on our cars.
Absolutely!!!

Derek did a fine job showing us a by-the-book representation of the Buick Shop Manual driver's seat removal procedure.
Lol almost thought that broom had a chance for about 0.5 seconds
Absolute best seat removal procedure ever caught on film. You can't just learn skills like that you gotta be born with it.
Sadly the Chilton shop manual neglected to include that procedure.
It says something in the index about "liability issues" blah blah, Oh whatever Chilton! ;-)

Hilarious 🤣
Yep. I've been visited by clergy asking, "What the hell?" a time or two. I must have set off an alert. O_o
I love the seat removal methods!! 🤣 Derek, your video editing skills are right up there with your ability to get engines running that have been sitting under water in the woods for 47.3 years. Thanks for all your hard work. It does not go unappreciated.
It's the ones which have been sitting for 47.4 years that you have to watch out for
I missed viewing this first thing on Friday night due to a hospital visit / surgery. Home now recovering the best medicine possible; with this latest episode to lift my spirits! Thank, VGG!
Glad youre recovering!
Thank you. If you fine folks ever renew your wedding vows, it should include ….for better, for worse, for bleedin’ the brakes… 😂
I'd love to see a full resto series on this one. What a great rig. I think it deserves it
Who wouldn't, but Derek never does a full resto. The most you'll ever get is some black paint to cover rust that you can see.
Same here. I got to drive one of these, and it was really something!
@@reviewaccount469 There is a first time for everything, and this make car is a good candidate because they are so rare....
He's had more than a few shiny rigs
@@adamdesimone7268 Agreed, that Blue Chevelle is pretty sweet and so is the Firebird he just did a transmission swap on.
You are very much correct. This is a great candidate for a full restoration. I'd love to see this down the road as well. 😁👍💪💪
Feel the necessity to concur and add another affirmation to this here idear. I'd love to suggestalize something funky for it, but a guy just can't rationalize muckin with the Darth Vader vibe and going with anything other than gettin the ol' girl Back in Black!
That is a great post! Derek we want to see the BN restored!
I’d love to see a rattle can paint job. A full on restauration can allways be done ‘off camera’. But paints have improved so much that you can do so much with rattlecans these days.
Shiny scares me
You've wanted this car for forever, we all wanna see your best work.. my vote on this one is fully bring it back around from bland to grand national!
Dear Derek, I'm 17 and in just a few weeks I'll be working on my first project, a 1975 Chevrolet Nova (nothing special, it's just a factory base model) that used to belong to a family member, and can I just say you give me the encouragement and the motivation to work on it thanks to the amount of knowledge and helpful tips you always give (plus your optimism is priceless) so thank you so much, and God bless you
(Greetings from the Philippines by the way)
Don't put too much money and time into a base model. Invest the same time and mobey into something that will make you more mobey
@@OneOut1 we've only bought so far the essentials and what's needed for it to run, and it's an I6 car so it's already expected to start without much work (and I didn't say this but the car sat since 2012 which is the last registration on the windshield)
Congratulations
@@OneOut1 You should never build or restore a car in the hopes you'll make a profit. Complete opposite reason to indulge in this hobby.
It is insane to me how your channel exploded in the last 3 years it is cool to see.👍
Hard work and blessed
And a totally loving wife🤓
@@charlesroybal4573I had a wife one time that loved only other men
Out of all the videos I've watched on here, the Bland national is probably one of my favourites, seeing your reaction to the boost was just something. May not be alot of boost but you could just tell it was pure Joy for you. So so jealous of all the cool cars you guys have the chance to own and work on in the US, we have literally nothing like this in the UK.
The other advantage? If it's a pre-1974 car, running with no emissions control is legal.
The first video of him trying to revive the car was what introduced me to this awesome guy! So glad to see this car getting a full revive
We love VGG because he does what A LOT of us would be doing while getting flustered LOL. Great job Derek
As a shady tree mechanic hobbyist, I concur. Nearly snorted whiskey through my nose when he ate the old candy and immediately spit it out. Heard my deceased Grandpa screaming, "DON'T DO THAT BOY!"
Give up and drink beer?
You bring us car content, no one else can! Thank you Derek
Our. Poor, long-suffering wives! 🤣😅🤣😅
Love the drive at the end of this one and the pure joy on your face... keep up the great work, and more Bland National!!!
Another AWESOME Friday Night entertainment scheduled! Thank you so much for all you do, Derek!
Derek I'd watch you talk about cereal for 3 hours and not be bored, your work is great and I'm glad to see the National back!
Thanks
That canister that's mounted on the side of the Hydra actuator is spring loaded and pressurized, just in case you throw a belt or the engine stalls. You will have two or three additional power assisted stops from the booster. A very nice safety feature! Good work Derek!
That’s good information. I have a hydro boost on my truck and was wondering about that very scenario. Thx for sharing this 👍🏻✌🏻
Valuable lesson learned: do the front bolts first!!!! lol I legitimately learn something in every single video. Thanks Derek!
I have immense sympathy, I am 5'
18" and have many years with my knees in my kisser.
No this car deserves to be driven and enjoyed not babied
I sure would love to see you make this one shiny and bring it back to its former glory. If you decide to just throw some shine juice on it and keep the patina, maybe consider making the interior super nice. 🤷♂️
i agree was my fav car as a kid
I like the way he had a hat change for a little bit I guess he was just in the mood for one. Another great video as always.
Always love Derek's Non fictional story telling time 8:40 so much entertainment packed into these Videos @Vice Grip Garage
This is the best Friday I have had in a hot minute. VGG, Cleetus, and Grind Hard Plumbing all posted in one day when I actually have time to watch. God bless America 🎉
Don’t forget Tony on stay tuned… sycclone is boss.
That brought a lot of smiles to my face! Seeing you drive it for the first time was amazing and we look forward to more videos on this rig!
Hello there👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!❤❤
Beautiful car Derek, love the way you fawn over this one.
And I just found this channel yesterday and I'm hooked I've been watching every episode of can
Hello there👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!❤❤
The candy taste test in the beginning had me rolling. 😂 never a dull moment with our friday evening VGG video. as always great video. Thanks for the awesome content. I'd love to have that Grand National. my dad had one as I was a kid. I remember bits and pieces of the car. it was his baby. I think he loved it more than us kids.😂
Same here. 😂 I bout fell over laughing, had to watch it twice!! 😝
I doubt it but I'm sure it was close to his heart as well. 😁👍❤️
A feller sure would like to see this one get restored. Despite it’s condition it’s still worth the long term investment.
Best VGG episode, 😂 had my hubby and I in stitches b/c when you work on a vehicle on your own THESE are the things that happen!
it’s rare to see our guy in anything boosted, but this Buick is right for VGG & our community. very nice pickup, Derek…your buddy that showed up in his premium GN has one of the finest examples of one anywhere.
Hello there👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!❤❤
I absolutely enjoyed this live video bud.
I used to do it like that until I got a mighty vac pump. One of the best tool investment choices I've made.
Then, what's Jessica gonna do?
You can't mess with a Grand National. Everyone secretly loves this car, even if they don't admit it.
Just gotta say, the quality of your productions are outstanding. Love your content! 😊
Glad you like them!
Love the grand nationals and the bland national since the first video of it! Hope to see this more in the future! Watching you work on stuff sure gives me the courage to tackle more complex jobs on my own rides
Me too!!👍
Good car to bring her back to life 🎉
Thanks for keeping this car alive Derek. You and this Buick are both legends!
Man it sure was fun watching a guy enjoy his dream car. That’s gotta be a great feeling.
I think it deserves a resto job them cars were awesome in the day. Also hope you come back to Iola Wisconsin next year it was a blast.Great show !!!!!
That GN has loads of potential....I'd rather have one in that condition than a restored one so I could do the work myself! She's a beaut!
I can’t wait to see more with this rig! Nice work. Keep the Buicks on the road!!
Hello there👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!❤❤
I bought an ‘87 GN way back in 19 an 89….
Action packed episode. The seat alone had me sweating. 😂
Hello there👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!❤❤
Love watching your videos with my husband. This was very entertaining. Thank you!
Awesome job!
The removal of the seat has to be the funniest part of the video 😂
Always love Fridays when VGG uploads
Thank you for all of your videos and your entertainment!!!! You obviously have a wonderful wife to put up with all of your ventures. She obviously loves cars as much as you do.
So Funny. !!!
What a amazing piece of history you have presented us with this time :) cheers lad keep up the good work loving ur content more and more every day
full restore series 😁. Jessica would love that car since the Buick was given away.
2. If you blow a line you have no steering or breaks and almost wipe out a row of parked cars 😂
Now I understand the principles and how it works.
Awesome video.
I haven't belly laughed like this in a long time!! Absolutely love your approach to making a (teaching) video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ive been waiting to see more on this ride!
Best channel on UA-cam!
Another thing which I love about this channel is Derek's music selection for the episodes.
Had a rough day today, so I’m glad I saved this episode until after the day’s “festivities”. I’m really trying to carve out some time for my project cars, but that’s hard nowadays. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you, Derek!
That is the truth! Finding time to wrench on the toys is difficult! Life gets in the way sometimes.
The seat removal options had me crying laughing, I love your episodes so much
Bring the thunder!!!
