Laurie, I count YOU as one of the blessings in my life now! My husband & I just returned from a cross country trip (SC to Oregon) on our first plane flights since the 1970’s. It was incredible thanks to all your videos, clips & Instas. I had already bought almost everything you talked about today & adore each item. We had to move between several hotels & thanks to all your organization tips & tools it was seamless. Everyone in my family is getting compression cubes for Christmas this year! I especially appreciate your kind response to my question about preparing for a 6am departure. We were very fortunate to have all our flights depart on time & arrive early! We had a perfect, breathtakingly beautiful vacation (except this SC girl use to 95 degrees struggled a bit with the 30 mph 52 degree wind chill). We couldn’t have done it without you! We’re already planning a winter trip. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 😘
Funny story. I purchased the strip backpack last year after I saw it on your channel. I loved it so much I decided to use it for work as well. I work in a hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. Once I started using it everyone loved it and purchased one. I'm responsible for at least 30 of them being sold in the last 6 months!!!!
I love the Scrubba Wash Bag as it has many uses. It’s a laundry washing bag that can also be used as a dirty clothes bag. I’ve been in European hotels and B&B’s with very small bathroom sinks where you can’t wash clothes in the sink and there is no bathtub, just a shower stall. I’ve used it as a beach tote and bag for groceries, etc. It can also double as a dry bag if you have booked a canoe or kayak trip. You can put ice in the bag to keep food cold and roll it down tight to squeeze out all the air for a picnic lunch. I also use it as a packing cube for dirty shoes and hiking clothes.
I bought the hard shell case you suggested. I took it on my last trip. It was awesome. The large pocket on the outside is so easy to access. The wheels were wonderful. So easy to use. Thank you.
I am sorry you lost your watch and were flustered. I've been there. My tip: I wrote "Plan a "stuff it here" place" on my packing/travel reference list. I also write "where's my stuff it here place?" on my last-minute list. It helps, domestic and international!
Hi from Ecuador! I just discovered your channel today and fell deep down the rabbit hole for hours - and my Amazon cart got filled up with many of your suggested items. I’m a former flight attendant and current retiree living in Ecuador. My husband and I travel frequently and all of your tips are great. Many I’ve been doing for years but I definitely learned some new tricks today!
Hi Laurie, I've been viewing all you videos. So much information and great tips, hacks and advice. I love all the great ideas and product reviews. Thank you much. I'm so excited after 2 years of not flying, I'm finally taking a much needed vacation. Hopefully for sunny weather starting Saturday in Y Tampa Fl. 😁
You had mentioned you have hearing aids and were looking at AirPods for music. I have been using hearing aids with Bluetooth capability for a couple of years. This allows me to sync my hearing aids to my iPhone through Bluetooth and listen to all audio sources (iPhone & music) directly through my hearing aids. That has been a lifesaver for me! I still use over the ear noise cancelling headphones while wearing my hearing aids in a noisy airplane environment. Your videos have been very helpful to me. I am planning on a 10 day trip to Israel in October, with a goal of traveling with only the personal item bag and carryon hardshell case.

Another awesome video. You are so down to earth as well as informative. I have purchased some of the items you have recommended and am happy with them. May God bless you for helping people like me to feel more comfortable traveling.
I have found that a lunchbox backpack comes very much in handy when traveling. The lunchbox partition is collapsable to make it a full-sized backpack, or is popped open to hold enough food for 2. I really like it when I'm in France because I can buy just enough at farmers markets or street venders to make a picnic and it keeps it all nice and cool/hot. Much cheaper than eating out for every meal, and some are really cute for a day bag! Mine is just big enough to hold a 13" laptop, my regular purse contents, and all other travel essentials WITH a snack compartment! I bet it would be amazing as a diaper bag, too!
Little tip, the Cabeau works well if you have a long neck. For petites, there are other ones that are softer and have a thinner height on the neck 🤷♀️.

love your videos, thanks for such great content! mascara...i've used no7 stay perfect long lasting mascara for years, and it never rubs off or flakes, you don't need primer, you can swim or shower with it on. when you brush it on, it forms a silicone tube over and around each lash, and won't come off until you use warm water on a cotton round. i think there are now other brands with the same type of formula. it's called tubing mascara.

For use on an aircraft seatback, I use a tactical pouch (more guy style there, but you can find similar & more elegant for women) with a "Hero Clip" to hang it from the literature holder or seat pocket. Just enough for my wired earbuds, phones, powerbank and a snack bar.

I’ve been traveling a lot, already busted 3 of my hair essentials, pls let me know what’s the best adapter / converter for international travel . Thank u and pls continue sharing your knowledge on travel.

So glad I found your channel. Really want to do just carry on to Europe in September and so watching many of your videos. I am also passing them a long to others going on trips in September! Thank you!
I ordered the 3 in 1 charger and the phone charger, couldn't wait for Prime Day lol!! I paused your video, ordered them and went back to watching your video!!! Great tips and products :)
Just used that same neck pillow on an overnight flight. Also had an eye mask. I actually did get some sleep. For a long fight, it was a great neck pillow. I bought that pillow in October of 2020 when you first featured it. Wow! has the price increased. Love the Travelon items you featured. Their stuff is always reliable. Thanks, Laurie!
Hi Laurie! I was considering getting a luggage rack so thanks for suggesting the one you like! 💕 I also like that new phone charger ….. happy travels! You’re the best! 🤗
Those pens are super cute, but for travel I go for as compact as possible. True Utility has a telescoping keychain pen that is about half the size of those candy cigarettes we used to eat as kids. I keep one on every keychain, along with a tiny keychain flashlight and (usually) a mini Swiss army knife, which I always have to remember to take off if I am flying.
Thanks for all the great info! I will be flying to Barcelona in Oct. for a cruise. This will be my first international flight and your videos and tips are wonderful.
The TSA clear bags you showed with the toiletry bag...I found those are the BEST liquids bag! They aren't narrow like most or come to a point at the top. Since you're only allowed to have 1 liquid bag, that one fits more then enough and then some! I got all my makeup, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, dry shampoo, medication, etc and all my other bathroom stuff! So it's convenient to keep everything together!! They come in packs of 2, and for a great price.. way cheaper then buying new when you get somewhere, or checking your luggage just for luggage!!
Hi Laurie. My hubby and I are on the way to the airport for the first leg of our Viking River Cruise in Amsterdam. I told my husband that 98% of what I have learned about carry on packing (we have always checked bags before), I learned from Travel Tips by Laurie. Thank you❤
Thanks! We are in the Houston airport now-what a beautiful airport with shops for everything. Stay safe and enjoy Houston. I have a new appreciation for airline pilots since our fight from Sea-Tac to Houston. Keep doing what you are doing, Laurie, we need you🌸
Thanks for all the great tips! I found and binge watched your channel for my trip last week to CO. One our your best tips was to arrive at the airport 2 hours before BOARDING. The Denver airport is huge, and TSA lines were as long as Disney! Your TSA tips were priceless. It was so good to feel prepared and a little less anxious about the process, even when they pulled me over to inspect my baked sweet potatoes and 6 oz bottle of over the counter cough medicine. They let me keep everything, and I had plenty of time at the gate. I might have to pick up a couple of the things on this video... 😉 Hope you had fun on your WI trip! Lots of things to see and do!
Oh wow, that is hilarious they wanted to see the potatoes. Yum! And that made me think-I think with liquid meds they are also supposed to be in the bin-allowed-but in the bin. I will have to look that up. Welcome home!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Thanks to you, I did have my food bagged and in a bin, as well has the liquid med. The agent acted like a newbie. Asked his supervisor to come look at the potatoes and med lol.

I had gotten the compression cubes per your recommendation. Will be using them for the 1st time on my trip to Alaska. Thanks for the tip for using the long, narrow one for dirty shoes. I will do that, because I will be bringing with me my old pair of sneakers that I will be wearing in Alaska when I go on a couple fishing trips. When done with the fishing excursion, I will toss out the sneakers.
Regarding the Lancome eyelash primer… What sorcery is this?! 🤯I bought it on your recommendation and tried it today for the first time. I had a massage and the first 30 minutes is on my stomach, with my head down on a face cradle. If I wore mascara without this primer, I would get up from the face cradle with a big smudge under each eye from the mascara. With the primer… No smudge! And no flakes came off onto my face either. The stuff is great! Thanks for the recommendation.
OK. I lost your question so I will (finally) answer it here. BTW I purchased several of your New travel must-haves . I love all the Tripped stuff. The little charger is great when I get to the dog park and realize my phone battery is low. You asked…somewhere….. did I like the brown TUMI backpack with the gold hardware. Yes. Not crazy about the gold, but that is what they had when I purchased it. It works for me as I don’t stuff the bag with clothing. I put my iPad, noise canceling headphones, reading material, Kleenex + and my travel crossbody. It is nice, light and has the band in the back to put over the roll on handles. If I bring a computer, I may use the stronger TUMI leather backpack. If I want to have a nicer tote when I arrive then I use another TUMI that is dressier. I make sure it zips in case it lands in the overhead in a bulkhead seat. Hope that is what you are looking for. And for a “tip”: seasonally with some allergies I don’t want my eustachian tubes to cause pain on descent and landing I will use Olbas natural Inhaler to clear nasal passages about 45” before landing. Seems to work for me. Simple and easy. Amazon and lots of stores.
Laurie I’m so addicted to your videos thank you so much for your truthful & valuable info- I’m so confused on what luggage to get have had the same luggage for at least 30 years- I’m 73 and want something very light weight - a friend as IT and that is really light - now u are happy with hard shell rather than Travel Pro? Am hoping Prime Days with have luggage marked down- thank you again - also thanks for responding to my questions but I have finally figured out how to see your links -
Oh good! My mom is 75 and she loves checking a bag now...but I'M now the one who has to lift it into the car lol. If I had to pack more, I would pack in my 22" Travelpro. For domestic I would most likely pack in the 20". You really have to figure out what you like and don't like. Go to Macy's and try them, lift them. Walk around a corner while carrying it. Think of getting on the down escalator with it. Hope that helps. I love the spinning wheels.
I made the same mistake with my first hard shell suitcase. I bought it earlier this year. Spent a small fortune and hate it. That missing pocket in the front ended up being a deal breaker :-( Live and learn!!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I’m using mine again. Minus the closet that goes inside. And I bought the Tripped compression set you suggested. I had about 5 other packing cubes and the Tripped brand is so much better. I would like another one that is larger than their largest. I’m checking the carry on because it weights a lot but I love how well made it is. I need that front pocket. I think I may go back to the soft ones. :-)
They changed the triple zipper crossbody bag! The 2022 version has a black interior, thicker straps and a little tassel in one of the Small zippers. I think the outside is nicer and overall it’s better than the cognac version you and I have, but I miss the striped lining!!! I do like that the new version has black hardware. I was not a fan of the gold.

Hi Laurie. Love your videos. I’m going to Las Vegas in august. First time on a plane. Learn a lot from your videos. I have one question. How does the Wi-Fi and in flight movies work and what earphones to use. I will be flying southwest. Thank you. Can’t wait for the next video.
Hi and yay!!!!!!! You download their app. Then when you are on board or maybe once you take off you turn it on airplane mode then connect to the wifi? I never remember. You can also download movies from netflix and watch those any time! You'll figure it out.
Video suggestion: can you do a packing video comparing packing with compression cubes vs regular packing cubes? maybe you’ve already made one but looking through your videos I didn’t see any. I’ve been using packing cubes for years and love them. This past year I’ve been on the fence on compression cubes. I’m super interested but Am not convinced you gain that much more space.
Like I said in my video, it took me YEARS to try them but now I love them. But if cubes are working, keep using them. Here is my video: bit.ly/CompressionCubesReview
Hi Laurie. Yet another great video, thanks! I'd love some feedback on a 'bag' challenge. Let's say a family is thinking about a European vacation that includes taking the Eurostar for the day from London to visit Paris. Family includes mom, hubby and two teenage sons (one with a broken arm). Mom needs a bag that will fit water bottles, hat, jacket or shawl, snacks, in addition to the essentials.....passport, small wallet and phone. Mom can wear a money belt for the passport (or maybe the runners band you suggest) and she likes wearing a crossbody purse but doesn't want a lot of bulk. Do you (or your lovely readers) have any suggestions? Thanks
I would pack in a backpack. Did you see the RFID crossbody bags I showed? Hubby and guys can wear the ugly under the waist band rfid belt. Don't know if hubby would wear it but there's a sling backpack you wear on the front. But you can also wear the backpack on the front. Watch out for the straps-some are SOOO padded making it so hot. Not sure if this is what you want: bit.ly/3v2Hwo7
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Thanks. I looked at RFID crossbody bags. I visited a well-stocked luggage store today and tried on ALL of the Travelon Bags. They are heavy and stiff, especially the larger ones, such as the blue RFID in your link. That bag can hold a lot, but I wouldn't be inspired to wear it all day sightseeing, nor give up valuable space in my carryon to pack it. I purchased a black Travelon that sits tightly at an angle and has the space for a bottle of water. I also picked up a ring that hooks to the bag for a jacket. I'm going to test it out at home while I search for other options.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Just returned from 15-day trip that included Ireland and London. I used a very small Pacsafe cross body bag for cards, change, keys and my phone. It's rectangular, similar to the shape of a phone with two compartments. One for the phone and one for cards and passport. When we were out and about and I needed to carry waters and a wrap or jacket, I added a plain Addidas string bag. It wasn't the most stylish, but it was easy to pack and worked for the casual theme of our trip. Having the small crossbody for my phone, credit cards and transit card worked perfectly. We skipped the one-day trip to Paris in lieu of making a separate visit on another trip.
I used my Travelon seat back holder on last trip and it was wonderful. I fit my iPad, a book, and ear plugs in it for use on plane. One week til we fly to Europe for cruise. Nervous about the flying part of it with all that’s going on with airports. Another great, helpful video. TFS.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie We are actually flying direct to Heathrow from Seattle, doing some sightseeing around London area, then taking train under channel to Amsterdam where we will spend several days until boarding the ship there. However, we have already had our flight from Zurich to London cancelled which we had to rebook. But, I’m not as concerned about how long it takes to get home. We learned long ago never to fly on same day going to board ship.
Hey Laurie! Love your info...I have bought the National Park Compression cubes and they are wonderful. Also got the soft sided carryon per your recommendation. Why did you change to the hard side? Just the pocket outside? Guess if I saw that one I would buy it too! Thanks and Happy Travels!
I'm actually leaving in a few minutes to the UK. I am using a belt that you recommended a few months ago. I'm so glad I got it as it makes access to my passport and boarding pass so easy. Edit: you show it in the video :)

Thank you so much for your videos! They’re life saver! I’m going to europe now in august and really freaking out cause the european airlines are more strict than ours here in the US. Iberia allows a personal item of 16x12x6 and I’m having a hard time finding a backpack that’s so thin :( Do you know if the striped one you use (which is 7.5 inches deep) can be squished to 6? I’m traveling with just a carry on and am wondering if such small backpack will be enough. Thx

Yep most of my stuff will not be on a special deal. And I don’t know how to track deals or keep y’all updated
The Tript compression bags are terrific. Just used them fir a medical mission to Ukraine and the Guatemala. Thanks for the recommendation Laurie
Thanks for helping!! Yes, we love them.
Oh really?! Yikes. But glad you liked it.
Another great video. I have a playlist of all your videos. Thank you Laurie 🙏🏼
Wonderful!
I have to share with you that I bought the backpack and I’m using it for work I love it. I might need to get another one for traveling.
I totally love mine. Yay!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I have decided that I have to get another for traveling. Thank you so much for the suggestion. 😘
Yes!! I have seen “Elvis” six times now! I have never in my life been affected by a movie like I was this one! I’ll have to get the glasses, too! 😁
Hi Laurie! I was considering getting a luggage rack so thanks for suggesting the one you like! 💕 I also like that new phone charger ….. happy travels! You’re the best! 🤗
I love it! It's so much better than our old heavy/bulky one.
If you can’t find the “personal item” backpack, try looking at diaper bag backpacks. They have many pockets and good organization.
Yes, some do not look like diaper bags.
I need the compression cubes and double sided carry on. That's the goal during Prime.
You should be able to find those. Have fun!
That is a great tip! Cute is fun but not if you are trying to minimize.
I purchased the seat back organizer from Travelon and have used it on four flights now - I love it
Great to hear!
Thanks for all the great info! I will be flying to Barcelona in Oct. for a cruise. This will be my first international flight and your videos and tips are wonderful.
We’re going on a cruise from Barcelona in October too. Are you going on Virgin?
Glad it was helpful!
It helps when you've traveled with it, doesn't it? Thanks for sharing your tips!!
I love the TSA liquids bag also but in London they would not accept it. Still will use domestically.
Hi Laurie. My hubby and I are on the way to the airport for the first leg of our Viking River Cruise in Amsterdam. I told my husband that 98% of what I have learned about carry on packing (we have always checked bags before), I learned from Travel Tips by Laurie. Thank you❤
Have fun!
Thanks! We are in the Houston airport now-what a beautiful airport with shops for everything. Stay safe and enjoy Houston. I have a new appreciation for airline pilots since our fight from Sea-Tac to Houston. Keep doing what you are doing, Laurie, we need you🌸
@@katiemartell6520 Thank you! The best Mexican is Pappasitos in the airport lol. Have a great time!
Hope you had fun on your WI trip!

Ahhh Alaska! You can always use a produce bag, trash bag and the shoe bag that comes in their set
I got the NP cubes for Christmas and I love them!
I really love the quality for packing alot of clothes!
I love you even more for this list 💛 Thank you for sharing 💖
Just got back from Europe and used the StashBandz Unisex Travel Money Belt you recommended. Great suggestion. Thank you!!
Yay I use it almost daily!

I cannot wait to get them! And did you just see my watch things? I just added them to my page.
Ooh, I cannot wear mascara at all for a massage lol. I guess my eyes water too much. I look like a soaking wet cat! Glad you still like it.
Thanks for your thoughts and tips! Yes, I love the gold hardware. It's just so expensive for now.
Another great video. Thanks so very much for all of your advice!
I hope it helps you pack the essentials you do need.
I need that mascara primer! Another great, problem solving idea.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie thank you Laurie
We purchased and love the Nomad Lane carry on. Will the toiletry kit fit in the pocket for toiletries pocket on that?
Hi Laurie, can you tell me where you got the pearly tropical leaf earrings? I've been on the lookout for a while now and can't seem to find them..
I made the same mistake with my first hard shell suitcase. I bought it earlier this year. Spent a small fortune and hate it. That missing pocket in the front ended up being a deal breaker :-( Live and learn!!
Yes! And had I researched the bag more, I would’ve figured it out. I followed an influencer instead of thinking about my own travel experience.
@@CCreedUT I totally understand. Tripped also makes cubes for checked luggage, but they just deeper. Here they are: bit.ly/3D8Dvko
Love your videos. Do you have a recommendation for a foldable/packable tote?
Hi, any tote would do fine. I have several on this link like the pink striped one: www.amazon.com/shop/traveltipsbylaurie
I have a sweatshirt that converts into a backpack. I think it is going to be very helpful on my next trip.
Perfect!
Laurie. Did you create a packing list? If you have time, could you provide a link? Thank you.
Excellent...you never let us down
Woohoo!
Hmmm my link still has striped fabric: amzn.to/3IvK8A6

Video suggestion:
can you do a packing video comparing packing with compression cubes vs regular packing cubes? maybe you’ve already made one but looking through your videos I didn’t see any.
@@maxine2261 Yes that’s why I returned the taupe and blue one and kept the gold purse like Travelon. Good luck but good idea to test them out
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Just returned from 15-day trip that included Ireland and London.
TFS.
Hi, are you connecting in a European airport? And are you arriving the day before the cruise starts?
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie We are actually flying direct to Heathrow from Seattle, doing some sightseeing around London area, then taking train under channel to Amsterdam where we will spend several days until boarding the ship there. However, we have already had our flight from Zurich to London cancelled which we had to rebook. But, I’m not as concerned about how long it takes to get home. Hey Laurie! Love your info...I have bought the National Park Compression cubes and they are wonderful. Also got the soft sided carryon per your recommendation. Why did you change to the hard side? Just the pocket outside? Guess if I saw that one I would buy it too! Thanks and Happy Travels!
What's your opinion on luggage covers to make baggage claim a little easier?
We have never seen the need for it.
I'm actually leaving in a few minutes to the UK. I am using a belt that you recommended a few months ago. I'm so glad I got it as it makes access to my passport and boarding pass so easy. Edit: you show it in the video :)

Hi, I still do not see it either. I'll ask if it's the same item or called something else.
Thx
They are so strict when they do not need to be. My striped one has a bar along the zipper but a school backpack sure would be able to squish.
I love your videos! Is your backpack the large 17” or the smaller one? Will be buying lots of these items. I’m a seasoned traveler, but your tips are spot on and lots are new to me.
Hi, mine is 15.6 and it's like a regular school backpack size.
