thank yooouuuu I knew there had to be a way to do this but I couldn't find the variable to use to have it read something from chat and for some reason no one else mentions it in their videos (I even went through comments and found something to the effect of "it can read anything if you have the variable for it" as a response to someone asking the same question that I had, bro just tell me the variable) and the speaker bot wiki is... not organized well LOL

Hey Haunter, thanks for the tutorial! One question though, I was able to set it up with the standard voice, but not able to add additional speech engines. I tried to add uberduck and google, but both times it stated to "check credentials".
I quadruple checked that I followed the pdf instructions correctly, so can something else cause this? Do I have to be a YT Partner or something?
You shouldn't need to be a UA-cam partner. I think UberDuck shut down recently so that may be the problem there. As for the Google side you might want to open a support ticket on the Streamer.bot Discord so you can share screenshots and things. As long as you sign up with Google it should let you connect once you have the credentials.

It might be best to open a support post in the Streamer bit Discord server so you can show screenshots. I've never heard of that happening before
Thanks for the video! One question, does this program allow you to add a cooldown for this command to help cut down on spam messages?
If you want to make it a command instead of reading every message, then yes! The command has a cooldown section where you can set the seconds per user and globally for all users.

Hi Haunter, Great Video, I'm leaning thank to you. Can I use speaker/speak Bot on YouNow ? your viedo demonstration didn't show it in the selection pull down.
At this time Streamer.bot only has integration with Twitch and UA-cam so I don't know of a way that it could work on YouNow.
hi at 3:30 under group add command my doesnt have add command at all and when i type !tts this is a test ect, i can't hear a single thing. please help :)
Did you watch the full video? An update has come out since I posted the videos and I explained how it works later in the video with the updated version.

I think I'm seeing a log of people in the same boat as I am.
The new update changed methods of applying some settings.
Trying to get the automated chat read without having to type the command seems to be the tricky combo.
(Sounds like a new tutorial might be in-store for the future) heh

I did explain a little bit about how to use triggers later on in the video. For that one you would just want the trigger for UA-cam > Message

Okay. I think I see the issue.
I'm using the new version. You don't need to create a !tts command at all.
You have to create a Trigger in the new pathways.
***For the platform I'm building for it was:
Triggers Window- Twitch/Chat/Chat Message
This provides anything regarding chat to trigger the subaction.
Hopefully this helps people. :)
It's been a battle trying to see how they reorganized

Any way to use a custom voice with this? I've seen people doing that on twitch so there it is somewhat possible. Any help or info is appreciated.
Yes, if you add more voice engines they have a lot. I use the Google and Amazon ones and they have a lot of different languages. if you have enough subscribers you can even get TTSMonster.

does this work on ps5? Like, if i was streaming on my ps5, would the voice come through my console or just my laptop speakers? I really need to know.and if i can make my console the output source, how can I?
It doesn't work specifically with PS5, but if you are using a capture card you should be able to hear the game audio through the capture card and route both audio channels to your headphones
Is speakerbot send the audio directly to the UA-cam stream or I have do something in OBS with the audio Haunter?
In Speaker.Bot settings you can choose the audio device it plays through so you could route it somewhere else or you could have it play on your default device

@@360GameTV yes. So as long as you have your default sounds going to OBS, then it should be fine. The easiest way might be making sure the default audio device for Speaker.Bot is the same as Streamer.Bot

Downloaded and extracted speaker bot when I attempt to open application nothing happens please help!
I think it might have something to do with your antivirus software. If you still have issues then make sure to create a support ticket in the Discord
Is there a way to have it so the TTS can read chat at random ? So that not all messages will be read ?
You could add some sub-actions before the Speaker Bot sub-action that gets a random number. For example between 1-100. Then an if statement sub-action that checks if the random number is less than 10 or something and if it's less, then continue and speak, else do nothing and break. Hope that makes sense. Hi Haunter, is there a way to make streamerbot play a sound if someone writes something in the chat (but only i can hear it) ? so i never miss someone. a tut would be great if its possible. sure it helps small streamers
There is a way, but it would be a little tricky. If you have a separate audio output channel that you can add to OBS, you can have it output to the "monitor-only" which means it won't be heard in your stream. (Unless you route it to play that way.) I don't know if there is a better way, but if you ever stop by one of my streams where I am working on Streamer.bot stuff I can show you how mine is routed. 😄

When do you stream I would watch it if it’s to much to explain now. I have enough chanels free. Just need to know how chose a sound and import to bot & let it play when someone writes in chat. @@kintaro_405Gaming You should be able to choose the output device that the sound plays through when you set up the "Play Sound" sub-action. It should be a drop-down. Merry Christmas to you as well! 😁🎄🎁

@@kintaro_405Gaming Ah yes, for the action trigger you would use the UA-cam > Message trigger then it will trigger for every message that comes through
all was ok but when i test on yt chat its not speaking pls tell how to fix it and by the way good tutorials i am new to this and i want to on stream chat sound to speak so viewers get happy to hear there name
Sorry I missed your comment, you might want to join the Streamer.bot discord so we can share some screenshots of your settings back and forth.
The first thing I would check is if the command is being triggered. If it's not being triggered, then that's where the problem might be.
hello Haunter, thank you for the video. is there any way to add youtube channel points redeem to show's redeemer profile pic and message to livestream/obs? like when chat type "!redeemchat a-yo!", then OBS will display "a-yo!" from "user".

I have been thinking about doing a video on this. There is a way but it requires a little setup of saving their profile picture. There is a pinned message in the UA-cam channel of the Streamer.bot Discord that has instructions. Feel free to ping me in there, I might just not respond right away. Or I can always show you when I'm live again.

You can add a logic sub-actions that checks if the user is "NightBot" and if they are, then break the action, else continue. If you have any trouble setting it up please reach out in the Streamer bot Discord server so we can be able to share screenshots and more detailed instructions.
i wonder how people make the text to speech characters that are on their stream.
is there any way that my moderators have to approve all TTS Messages manually?
There isn't a way that I know of. You would have to figure out how mods could do it one at a time and also in a way that they don't cross over each other or that 2 mods approving 1 doesn't approve the next one accidentally.

idk how to avoid the bot reading the emotes, i set it in speaker bot to just the first emote but streamer bot reads all of them
It's kinda tricky. I think I had to use some C# code to have it avoid reading those. I left it for regular ones, but with some recent hoodlums I've been thinking of adding a sub-action to remove them.

Hey I have a question. What happens if someone types something down that’s inappropriate. Will the bot automatically filter it out?
Good question. I think it tries to filter some stuff out, but can't catch everything. I try to make sure that I have a good amount of blocked words in my community settings so that it doesn't even go in the chat

Hi. I keep getting an error that says Token for UA-cam has an incorrect number of scopes (3). Try again. Any ideas on how to get past this? Thanks for your informative video.
Make sure when you connect to UA-cam that you are checking all the boxes to authorize Streamer.bot. That should fix it. 😁

Yes! You just need to change the trigger to whatever donation trigger you have like Super Chats or SE or SL donations.

You can use lots of different triggers to activate an action that speaks something. It just depends on what you are trying to do. If you need more help I would recommend reaching out in the Streamer.bot discord server. 😄
Anyway for the TTS to read out without a command like !tts
Yes, I showed how to in the video using %message%. Just make sure to add the "message" trigger instead of the "command" trigger. 😊

You can try to use the trigger under UA-cam > Chat > Message
@@haunter56 I created the Api, did everything, downloaded the json, but it doesn't work in my script to collect live messages. Is there anything else I have to do?
You have to start the live broadcast for it to work. Also you should check if it is triggering in your action history. You may want to open a support ticket in the Streamer.bot Discord server if you still can't get it to work so that you can share screenshots and more details.
is it only available for english speaker?
It does have other language models in it so it should work with other languages.
Hey Haunter, followed your instructions but not working unfortunately. Using Streamer.bot 0.2.3 and Speaker.bot 0.1.3. I did notice my sub-action says "not connected" underneath, do I need to somehow connect streamerbot and speakerbot, or idk mod streamerbot on youtube or something? I'm grasping at straws here

You need to make sure you have started your live broadcast or the commands won't go through. If it's not that, then I would suggest opening a support ticket in the Streamer.bot Discord server so we can help figure out the problem.
