I have had a slide hammer for this for years...sometimes results are fantastic...other times so so...the secret is taking your time...some dents actually pull better if they are dome shaped with no sharp creases...
The best tool is called. PATIENTS but I've thought about giving ole harbor a try tho if I don't find any cheaper kits and if neither works I'll just take the front fender off buy a new one take it to a body shop to match the paint then I'll reinstall it back on the truck because $1200 wit no insurance is waaaay to expensive on a monthly fixed income I get.. keep up the good work brother
It is certainly far from perfect. However I have had some success as a beginner pulling out some dents. The problem I have with it is that it’s not really heavy duty enough. The plastic thumb screw strips after about several hours worth of work. I coped with this by using a big wing nut. That worked for a while. The next issue I had was the glue and the plastic stuck to the car so well that the bolt part of the tab broke off leaving the plastic and the glue stuck to the car. Even though it was frustrating it was not a bad first experience. I have since graduated to a higher quality glues and tabs and pulling tools. The bottom line for me is that for $15 it’s not a bad introduction to paintless dent removal. The spray they sent with the kit worked well but I also found that Goo Gone or Goof Off works just as well or better. I read somewhere that denatured alcohol works also so I think I’m going to try that next.
The white plastic is used to tap down an overpulled area. It can be used on its own or lightly tapped with a hammer. Play safe from Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada.
I think it broke because you have to do it little by little. Pull remove then glue it again and pull ...don’t expect to remove the dent in one pull. Good video though
Good job, very helpful video, the tool works. I just got a very small hood dent from a stone striking it. I'll have to pick up one of these cross bar tools. Thanks, Going to try it. I was able to pick up this tool today, Gave it a try & too my surprise it worked exactly like it should on this small, pesky, hood dent. It took me several tries, rotating the puller around in different spots. I'm pleased with the results of the tool, IT WORKS ! Thanks
I usually knock out, fill and respray dents on my cars. I thought I would give one of these a go on a project car I have and these do really work. You need to have patience and keep on going untill you get the results you want. I would use this with other techniques to get really good results. Although for ease this one is excellent
Its for tapping out dents using a hammer. The white thing that looks like a peace of chalk. I guess its for very gentle tapping out tents from.the inside I seen a video of someone using one .
The plastic thing is to knock down the dent if you pull it out too far. When you pulled the dent out of the side of the car you could tell by the reflection of your siding from your home that you pulled it out just a little too far now you can use that tool and tap it down and make it perfect just watch a couple videos
I plan to try without release agent. you have to use more generous amount of glue, and up to 5 minutes, and not 10 secs. with release agent seems to release, and it did nothing.
I would think that putting the glue on the plunger first would be safer for the paint itself. Putting it directly on the paint may cause the paint to bubble. Also a good idea to scuff the plunger first before you start using it so the glue sticks to the plunger better and doesn't fall off it easily .
Used it important thing if you have waxed car with ceramics you have to use abrasive to allow to grip. Try aluminum rim polish wipe off then use device
Hi Pete. Thanks for posting this video. Proof again this is not the best item to use for pulling dents or dings just in case someone is tempting to buy it. The slide hammer seems the best overall option.
I Do dent removal professionally...the bridge puller has its place its just another tool to be utilized... but I would definitely keep one in my toolbox
Brian Powell I haven't watched this entire video yet but im my personal experience the two brace pieces on the end are likely to leave dents unless they're I thick solid metal. So for every dent you remove there's a good chance you create two new ones. Plus the plastic pull tabs tend to break after 4 or 5 uses. Honestly you have better luck just pulling the plastic glue tab/wing nut with your bare hand with one quick pull then you do using the cross bar thing. A slide hammer is a much better option with the glue tabs imo
Yea the desing doesn't make sense. KnowI usually take the heavy duty suction cup from harbor freight and use the glue gun. Pull hard with hands and it does good job. About $4
I had that after about 20 goes. I would take it easy on the pressure. Some shaped panels are very strong. Although this still works well. Keep your reciept and if it cracks get it exhanged. I would even get that bar braced with some steel. I woud say this is cast metal and a bit of mecanno would strenghten it up
@@vikingman4614 yup and most hate. Lmao. People get very angry behind a keyboard on reviews. My goal is to always do them as a dummy review. Meaning showing what it's like if you have never used the item.
The white pointed object is to take a small hammer and use it to take out protruding dents. lightly hammer that to bend back metal
I have had a slide hammer for this for years...sometimes results are fantastic...other times so so...the secret is taking your time...some dents actually pull better if they are dome shaped with no sharp creases...
That glue hardens, it doesn't dry... It's actually reusable... You can remelted a few times.. Great video!
Wow thanks for that information
I use a heat gun and reuse the glue 4 or 5 times

The white stick is for rectal insertion to make it a fun time
No idea what that white object is for, but my wife has one in her bedside drawer... I guess she's secretly into body repair.
hahahhahah
🤣🙌💀
Circle the dents....chalk
Broooooo this made me spit out my coffee...fun as fuck!!!!!
Its used to tap down high spots with a light hammer.
The white object is to fix high spots, sometimes when pulling a dent it'll bring the outer edge up higher than the surface
Thanks. Have a great day and appreciate you watching and filling in.
The white tool is used for tapping high spots..it is easy if you have a PDR light board and watch the lines
Thanks. Always love the education on these items and it allows people reading comments to learn. Have a great day

i think yours worked the quickest because of the duration of time you left the glue on. thx

Don't let the glue harden so long. It's a big glue stick, so you want some play, it will also be easier to remove

Dude the white point is for tapping down raised metal and the alcohol should be applied to the glue on the car so it will come off easily.
Thanks for this video, always wondered about these. Absolutely stunning W140, really look forward to your videos!

What do you mean exactly by placing tape around the dent so you can find it latter?
Why , is the dent going to move or something ?

Also a good idea to scuff the plunger first before you start using it so the glue sticks to the plunger better and doesn't fall off it easily .
No, the glue won’t damage the paint 🙄
I just tried it a few times, didn't work at all!
Thats a tapit..stress relief for the metal..if u dont know what that is and dont have a refelctor board u wont get the results your looking for
can you tell us what those things are then? 💕
White piece is for taking care of crowns. You lightly tap it on the ridges.
Works I pulled a hella dent out my car
lamar chapman howd you do it and how much hot glue did you use?
The plastic punch is for tapping down high spots
Used it important thing if you have waxed car with ceramics you have to use abrasive to allow to grip. Try aluminum rim polish wipe off then use device
It worked for me. I just wish it had more pull tabs.
Thank you very helpful

You are absolutely correct. Planning to invest this year in a nice slide hammer set

Nice job Peter but please don't ever take a black car through a car wash ever again.
Could this device be used to pull dents on roof rails?
it is to tap down the high spots
Thanks and makes sensr
I want to update everyone that this item ended up causing more dents in my door and also broke....just in case you dont watch whole video.
How did it cause more dents?

Brian Powell I agree. My next shot at this will be with a slide hammer. Goal of video was to see if cheap harbor freight one would work
In my own personal opinion I also think a high temp glue gun with actual hot melt glue sticks work better with the slide hammer.
Thanks. I’ll skip this and just go straight to the slide hammer.
Can it bring the dent out too much? And make it look out the opposite way?
Yes
That’s what the white stick is for
I wonder if this would work on a chrome bumper!?!
If you put the glue around the top of the pull tab it will stick better it worked on my truck i couldn’t get it perfect buy 90% better
All this comments - none realized we see working on the almighty W140 👑
Yes sir and still have her. Just got done doing a massive dent repair after being hit by someone without insurance.
Not me accidentally denting my dads truck buying a kit and taking the dent out😬
That hood looks great ima go buy this tomorow i hope they have it
Good vid 🙌
The glue does not 'DRY" it cools and hardens
Small detail but thanks for fill in
Super 👍😉😀
Thanks.. nice video
like vise grips don't come with instructions they are thinking people that buy this have knowledge so not good instructions are included
I ended up with 2 new dents
Yea the desing doesn't make sense. KnowI usually take the heavy duty suction cup from harbor freight and use the glue gun. Pull hard with hands and it does good job. About $4
Hahaha 😂
The big white thing is to scrap the glue ofg
Thanks. I was thinking about Purchasing this unit, but I see your's Broke. Saved me time, money & frustration. I will look elsewhere.
I want to buy
the damn glue wont stick in the metal. please help
Raymond Stevenson thanks bro
@@albertoramirez8676
Did it work?
Lexus LS400 COACH edition I have not tried it lol
@@albertoramirez8676
Well damn bro. It's been 2 months, go try it. Give us the info
The first time I used the dent puller kit the cross bar cracked in half. I'm on my way to Harbor Freight to return this cheaply made tool.
Sheldon Fishbein lol same here and I took back as well. My plan is to purchase a high quality long bar style one
They hae a good return policy. No better quality puller was available so I exchanged it and will try again
Planning on buying the tool from Eastwood. It looks much better made
Sheldon Fishbein sounds like a good idea. I’m going to get one too and do another video. May not be Eastwood but a similar style.

I would even get that bar braced with some steel. I woud say this is cast metal and a bit of mecanno would strenghten it up
I would not recomend doing this in Arizona heat the glue will not stick
I bought this same kit returned it because it didn't work well.
Yes I returned mine too and purchased a slide hammer version that works great
@@petescarport it looks like your Harbor freight trial and error tool videos gets the most views.

@@petescarport if I seen this video a month ago it would of saved me two trips at harbor freight.
Awesome. Thank you so much. I enjoy doing videos and don't mind the negative comments. Only helps anyone to make decision on purchase.
the white stuff is a tampon 🤣
No snapped first try
Dude that BENZ! W124??
Nope it's a w140 s500. Similar style to the w124
Of course it broke, it's from Harbor Freight.
Lol
I just got one it is garbage
He didn't cover the holes......
Doesnt work on most dents cheap crap.
Don't waste your money on products like this. Hire a professional 🙂
Scott Shiel Why? It works great if you take your time an know what you’re doing. Are you a “pro” ?
Professional can fuck off it can cost up to $1200+ just for a few dings you can attempt on your own first.
