Another branding point. Geoff, your name alone works great! From my own perception, I first heard your name from Bromley. The way the name rolls gives a sense of gravitas, I was surprised at how young you are! For podcast purposes, having a double barrelled surname gives you the awesome initials of GVS, so just run with that. I think because of the JRE podcast listeners are accustomed to hearing names like that. Plus, in the fitness industry we're well conditioned to acronyms so it wouldn't be an issue!
I’ve almost never had issue with my lower back and I give a lot of credit to back extensions. Great way to strengthen the lower back without causing too much systemic fatigue.
This was great! I'm so glad he talked about his imbalances and squatting....I had suspicions of my own but felt like I was listening to myself when he talked about them.
@@Damianpaulpod I love this long form content! Looks like Faz is leaning you out. I know it's hard to tell from a webcam, but you look leaner. I'd love to hear more about your training with Faz and what you're learning!
I almost got upset after first training related question haha...like "damn here we go again" First part was very refreshing, talking about what goes into youtube and how did it all started anyway...cool stuff
Easily one of the best podcasts on the channel. GVS seems like such a cool dude, and I appreciate his stance on Hypertrophy, interestingly I'm pretty sure after he described his QL injury I figured out that I myself had one earlier this year. It's still not 100 percent. RDL did it for me.
To the point about branding, and whether to put some distance between your own conveyed identity and the brand, it really depends on where you want to go with it. If, from the start, you know that you want to start UA-cam to act as the main traffic driver and nucleus for other industry related ventures then having a unique brand might be beneficial. However, this can make it hard to grow early on, as, for better or for worse, a significant factor why people sub to small channels is the fact that they can connect to the creators themselves more easily. Also, there's an inherent image associated with brand names that may not properly represent, or grow at pace, with the personality of the creator. Take Alex. His early videos were cringe as hell, he'd have the odd decent nugget of wisdom but most was trash (1100lb equipment ruining rack pulls, whacky forearm training that involved pans of water, a sledgehammer and a helmet, no joke). I don't think his actual personality ever matched the cringy energy that the brand gives off. I mean, "Alphadestiny"? The destiny of alphas? Unbelievably bad. For me, in the old days the fact that his actual personality never gelled with the brand persona always created this uncomfortable level of dissonance. Nowadays, and not just because of the recent rebrand, his channel has gotten so much better. Long ass rant about branding. It's something I find fascinating
If Geoff just did one super high production value video, but it was like a parody of Jeremy Ethier, Athlean X, and maybe some homages to Jeff Nippard, that could actually be really funny as just a one off
Guys, I’m thinking about turning do the dark side and doing a cycle of creatine. Does anyone have any tips before I take the plunge ? How will I explain to my family my gain of 50 pounds of rock hard muscle overnight ? Do I just tell them I’ve been going hard in the gym ? Please help
His analogy about lower back training money is what I've experienced in my training. I save it for my lower body movements like Squats and RDLs, hyperextensions. All my rows are chest-supported for the most part. With long legs a row from the floor is like second deadlift variation.
Geoffrey honest nature is why I've kept watching his stuff for almost 2 years. Interesting behind the scenes video 👍
Likewise. We need more honest voices in the fitness space. Thanks for watching!
GVS is the man! Great Interview.
Thanks Kevin, I hope you are doing well
@@Damianpaulpod He got that panty dripping beard going. I think he's doing fine lol.

Minimalist in the sheets
Maximalist in the Gym streets

Glad Breaking Beta is firing these off. One of my favorite podcasts to watch
Thanks Steve, I appreciate it!

Yeah i love doing full rom back extensions. I always feel a nice decompression at the bottom and low back back pump.

Glad to see Geoffrey getting recognition he deserves
Yeah he is definitely making his mark

This was great. New to your channel but not to GVS. Love his simplicity.
Thanks for checking it out. Please sub for future podcasts

I relate to this as well. BB rows feel like hamstrings and low back mostly
Did you loose lot of weight?
I recently finished a cut but I also just trimmed by beard
