  • I hadn't actually practised this enough but it's - O. K.
Settings on the module for this song:
Snare voice number 58, vol 18, pit 001, Rev 006.
    Tom 1 number 146, vol 011, Rev 006
    Tom 2 147, vol 011, Rev 006.
    Tom 3 148, vol 014, Rev 006.
    Kick 001.vol 029,rev 006.
    Hihat number 277, vol 030, rev 006.
Crash number 268, vol 012, pitch - 5, rev 004. Crash 260 is also good but less sustain.
    Ride 251, vol 030, pitch 002, rev 004.
The pan I basically left as is on most - if you need more volume from say the Hihat or the ride, you can pan them center.
Then on the kit settings I used EQH 005. It might be a bit too crisp for you, if so take it down to 003, depending on your headphones. Kit vol 028, yo can set this to what you like.

Tks very much man! If you get it, I'll send you some of the settings I've used for user kits. There are quite a few very usable sounds on this module, I don't like going the drum software route as it's just more stuff to cart around, but the Std sounds on this give my Roland TD11KV a run for its money - I hardly play it anymore. Also if yo want to expand the kit, the cheapest way is to do what I did, just wait till you find a wreck of an Alesis Nitro kit or similar (original rubber pads version) for next to nothing and there's your two extra cymbals. I sold the module and the crummy pads and made more money selling those than I did buying it. I've still got the rack though.

I am determined to buy one these. Because of the enourmous tax and the economic crisis in my country this kit is worth 2 months of national minimum wage salary, so I want to do my research properly before I invest. I live in an apartmant building so the kit being quiet is very important to me. Do you think that this kit is quiter than most or got any tips so I can reduce the noise a bit ? Thank you. Great cover by the way, keep it up bro!

      Thanks very much!
The bass drum tower is deff softer than my Roland TD11KV's one. The pads are about the same. The cymbals are always the biggest culprits when it comes to noise, coz they're much harder than the mesh pads. You can buy rubber tips that fit over the end of your sticks to further reduce the noise.
I also live in an apartment and I've had no problems, but I had a complaint when I was using a kit with rubber pads. Hope that helps!

Awesome drumming. Thinking of getting this kit aswell. Were this the build in sounds or did u use some software?

    • @IansDrumsandBass

Tks, these are the built in sounds. It's a user kit I built up. I can also give you the settings for a few of the user kits I've made. The factory kits on neay all modules are never very good, mostly , but this kit has enough decent sounds to build quite a few nice kits. This kit sounds better than my Roland TD11KV. (which I'm hardly playing at all these days) and the pads are nice and sensitive. I'm very impressed with this kit. The only thing that bothers some people is that it's not as sturdy as a big heavy kit, but if you set it up properly it's fine. Mine doesn't wobbly at all while I'm playing, because I set it up using a spirit level to make sure all the crossbars are level. Also, I found the rubber feet on the vertical posts weren't pushed onto the posts properly.

Sounds great! I also heard that the snare rack/pipe comes loose pretty quick but someone fixed that with just putting a snare stand under it. But yeah id love some settings for it. I just ordered it and cant wait to test it out :) @@IansDrumsandBass

@@NK01011 I don't know why theirs came loose, mine is fine, hadn't moved an inch. I just made sure the crosspiece was in correctly and tightened it up. After a few days I re - tightened all the screws as the T brackets are plastic and have some "give" in them. After 2 weeks I checked them again. My snare is 100%.
One guy said he folded up some paper around the snare crosspiece and after that no probs. But I suspect these guys didn't put the snare crosspiece in all the way, hence it coming out.

Thoughts on the kits' stability and size? Any tips for keeping still whilst playing?

    • @IansDrumsandBass
      @IansDrumsandBass  5 місяців тому +1

When I set my kits up, I always use a spirit level on the horizontal cross pieces, your eye can never get it right 100%, and 100% is what you need to go for. The vertical posts rubber boots weren't pushed on properly so check that. (push down on them before assembling.) Tighten everything, but not too tight, then in a few days check them again, and every few weeks again, the plastic gives, but it just takes a little bit of tightening ea time.
The kit shouldn't wobble @ all while playing, if it does then some things not right.
That's why some guys are complaining about this - they haven't done a thorough job. Alesis needs to highlight this in the manual.
The rack is very lightweight that's why it's susceptible to wobbling. I bought mine because it sounds good and very easy to take to gigs and practices - my Roland is a tank and very heavy. The Alesis rack is like a toy in comparison, but it's nice and light. There's no reason why this kit shouldn't last for years/ decades, if treated right

@IansDrumsandBass thanks mate, I appreciate your time. I just ordered the kit in Australia. Just starting to learn the drums, luckily I'm short so the kit should suit me. I'll definitely make be reading this again when I set it up!
