Hi Rick, Thanks for the great review. I was on the fence on buying a used 2022. I played it yesterday and went serching on UA-cam for reviews. Your review was very honest. I just brought it home! The neck is a dream and the pickups soind perfect! Im a subscriber now for sure. Looking forward to your content.
Sounds great. There is something different about these; Reverse bridge pickup, reverse headstock and the pickups are backwards… All these things contribute to it sounding different than a normal strat.
The one i just got is dark like this too. On Sweetwater you can pick the guitar you get. The other guitar available had a much lighter maple neck. I wonder if its the natural color of the maple.
looks really nice Rick, not washed out by the new light either, you sure made it sing!..... oh I nearly fell off my chair when Sweep appeared!.......made me laugh out loud!!!!
Hello Nic. I like the new light, but I also feel like it may be too bright. Sweep's on the lam. I suspect this photo originated from a farm in Nebraska where a clown lives. Thanks for watching, sir.
John Ryad Sahib I just got mine not too long ago, and I absolutely love it. Probably the best guitar I’ve ever owned. I even prefer it over the American Strats.
I think that stuffed rabbit stole my favorite pick last week. That reverse upside down inside out head-stock is a bit weird for my taste. Smooth playing as always Rick!
*Olympic White, it's important! The Alpine White isn't creamy which is why I love the Olympic White, it's creaminess. I think the reason for the darker looking neck is your lighting though for sure. Great playing man.
I bought that exact model, same color, however mine is a bit darker…..plays great , sounds great (65’s kill too……( I did replace the 5way w/ a 3 way switch, and moved to tone from middle to bridge pu…………..)also have a custom shop on order to deliver early next year …..great review and playing…..(me thinks me hears some Dickey Betts , nice )
Worked at Paul Allen's house that is close by, he owned the Woodstock Hendrix strat, hendrix is buried near here, Paul was a encyclopedia of rock and was friends with many famous musicians, he had guitars many guitars and he loved Strats and he could really play!
I bought a 2015 one in black 2 weeks ago and Cannot put it down .. The Huge range of tones and the neck on it is so gorgeous .My neck is brighter in colour than yours but I like em both . I've played Twangy tele stuff to Death core shredding with this guitar and it fits in somehow .. Fit and finish and playability are second to none and easily Easily on par with the Murican models ... The Pickups are The best part of the guitar IMO ..🎸🎸🎸
Buy it. !! I'm 57 and have been playing since 78 on n off. This Hendrix strat is my favorite guitar 🎸 and I have many good guitars. This strat is light and plays great.. I like it because it's different. It's very clear sounding and accurate sounding.
Get the Hendrix in Olympic White if you haven’t already made your decision. Trust me lol. It’s amazing man I prefer it over my bandmate’s 2022 American Professional II Stratocaster.
ElectricGypsy Blues I can’t speak for anybody else, but mine came set up perfectly. Pick ups are perfectly adjusted for great tone. But then again, I love everything about that guitar. I even like the reverse headstock on it. The tone that comes out of that instrument is some of the best I’ve ever heard.
ElectricGypsy Blues I found pictures of Hendrix playing the white strat and approximated heights, weird but improves the sound, very much Jimi sounding, makes you drive tubes harder ! 🎸
Oh. I'm not sure. I bought a few of his collections from soundcloud, I just pick them from on my hard drive. It's not so easy to find them on UA-cam at that point. Sorry but thanks for watching.
How much does it cost? Made in USA? What type of capacitors? So you are saying if the neck radius real flat one, the bends will get cut off and die out? NO case? Why not?
Well, good question. I recorded 2 versions of this video. I played like crap on the first. In the first one, I mentioned this but forgot on this one. I read about it and it makes sense but I honestly couldn't tell that much of a difference. I'm sure the slant makes a tiny bit of difference, but not really audible. Thanks for watching. It does sound better than many other strats. My guess is that's the pickups.
DEVO COMPRARMENE UNA E BIANCA E NON VOGLIO PENTIRMENE AMARAMENTE ANCHE PERCHè 900 e rotti EURO NON è CHE SIANO BRUSCOLINI E SE DEVO PENTIRMENE POI PREFERISCO AGGIUNGERCI QUALCHE ALTRO CENTONE E COMPRARMENE UNA CHE NE VALGA DAVVERO LA PENA. CONSIGLIAMI ANCHE IN PRIVATO SE ...CAPISCI A ME ;) Grazie
Non c'è niente di sbagliato nell'elettronica. In effetti, i pickup sono Pure Vintage 65s. Suonano vintage corretto.
Fender got the string setup right - bottom E as the longest string and top E as the shortest. Fine. But it just about stops there. Playing a right-handed guitar as a lefty means that the whammy bar and the control knobs are closest to you. Okay, the jack gets in the way but you can hammer that whammy bar very easily and roll the controls with the heel of your hand. Even at the same time. Fender have positioned all of these conventionally with everything at the bottom, so no real authenticity there. And no possibility of doing what Hendrix did. They also positioned the Fender logo on the headstock upside down. Or rather the original would have been upside down but this “reissue” has it the right way round so that we, in the audience, can see that it’s a Fender (if we manage to get that close). Finally, there’s the tacky Hendrix signature on the neckplate and back of the headstock. Like most of us, Jimi rarely signed his name the same way twice. The Hendrix signature used on this guitar is the same signature used by the company Experience Hendrix L.L.C. This is run by Janie Hendrix who is Jimi’s half-sister. Apparently, he met her once when she was about three years old. She has been exploiting his memory for many years by repackaging out-takes. Try accessing an original Jimi recording on UA-cam. Good luck with that. So it’s clear to me, at least, that Fender reached an agreement with Experience Hendrix L.L.C. to use the logo, possibly in return for Experience Hendrix L.L.C. getting a share of the profits. Stone free? Nope. Just a money-making scam.
It's blasphemy to call that a Hendrix Strat, 'cuz the horns/cutouts ain't right... that's a right hand body, a left hand neck, and a left hand pickguard with all the stuff installed from the other side so it works in a right hand body... if they wanted to make a true "Hendrix" Strat for rightys, they should take a lefty, flip it over and convert it for right hand playing... Oh, and I'm sending Sweep to get that blue cat tuner too...

Damn, you've got a great touch! Really making this strat sing, mate! Really cool video style as well. :)
Thanks Gunroar. I just got a comment telling me that my video style is annoying so this is nice to hear. Peace.
