Of course! I use a hotas (joystick and throttle) for controlling my plane. And for looking around, I use a head tracker called TrackIR. It is not the same as VR but it serves the same purpose by using your head to look around with. I hope that helped! Is there anything else I can help you with?
How do you put yourself with so much fov? i when i play i feel like im always eating the instruments and windows and that when i enter a dogfight it gets even worst
I have a TrackIR so I can only answer from that experience. But I have set it up so that my head movement forwards and backwards does make the camera zoom in and out, you can do that inside War Thunder in options. I think that option places the neutral head position in a way that make it possible for me to to zoom out a bit with my key bound to zoom out. Does that make sense? :) Again, this applies to TrackIR. Also, sorry for the late answer!
I see. War thunder supports the TrackIR software and I am guessing this overrides the function where you have to push a button. I don't know how it works exactly :)
I use a saitek x55 rhino hotas. I think it a logitech product now called logitech x56 something. With regards to keybinds I would say the most important is the pitch sensitivity and that is up to preference.
In War thunder simulator battles, you are rewarded for "useful actions" wich is counted every 15 minutes. Kills and objectives are all counted as useful actions.
@@involuntarycommander8804 DCS ww2 doesn't have the amount of aircraft , neither the amount of players online as IL2 . But I highly recommend you to give it a shot . the FM , DM and level of detail of DCS aircrafts , are unique.
If you ever give it a shot. Check out 4YA PO server has an average of 50-60 players during the evening european time. The server has 7 rotative historical missions . Also, wolfpack server for North american Time evening.
True it's not as detailed as il2 or dcs which are also good games. But I like the fact that war thunder brings non simers into the hobby by being very accessible. Wouldn't you agree
The thing about ace pilots is that they knew the pros and cons of their and their enemy's planes, this way they could use the pros of their plane and the cons of the other pilot's plane to their advantage. There's a reason pro players always say: "KNOW. YOUR. ENEMY." An Me 262 won't be able to outmaneuver a spitfire, and a spitfire won't be able to outrun an Me.
I have tried it out a bit. It is great fun. However, a lot more people play in squads there, so if you just wanna do a quick game alone it's hard to go in solo and expect to survive :)

And war thunder sure is grindy.
do you use i track and flight stick?
I use TrackIR and a HOTAS :)
Dude nice video, would be nice to do a two ship video! Im down for that! Great job!
What head tracking are you using?
I'm using TrackIR:)
Hello there! May I ask you, what tools are you using to play sim battles? I would like to try it in the future, but it seems it is quite useful to have some VR goggles and a joystick. Is that so?
Of course! I use a hotas (joystick and throttle) for controlling my plane. And for looking around, I use a head tracker called TrackIR. It is not the same as VR but it serves the same purpose by using your head to look around with.
I hope that helped! Is there anything else I can help you with?

how do you move the camera like that
Hey dude, I use a head tracker called TrackIR. I can't play without it!
Can you explain how you dont have to press to Look around?
A Button to Look around
I use a head tracker called TrackIR. This enables me to use head movement to look around. I have a video about TrackIR on the channel.
@@involuntarycommander8804 yea but i mean, if i want to Look around i have to press a Button i just wanted to know why you dont have to press one.
I see.
War thunder supports the TrackIR software and I am guessing this overrides the function where you have to push a button. I don't know how it works exactly :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 oh ok thx, thought it was a setting
Is this the Sailing Robyn?
Nope! :)
which bf109 is that
It's the F-2
Hey, I also just started flying sim, what joystick do you have and what keybinds do you use?
I use a saitek x55 rhino hotas. I think it a logitech product now called logitech x56 something.
With regards to keybinds I would say the most important is the pitch sensitivity and that is up to preference.
The video is great and the commentary is great, but please try and fix your mic
how do you control the steering rudder?
I use a stick with a twist axis to control my rudder.
What is your head tracking setup?
I use a TrackIR. I have a video of my specific setup :)
are you playing with Vr? or trackIr?
I use TrackIR :)
where are you from?
what’s the reward for sim kill in wt
In War thunder simulator battles, you are rewarded for "useful actions" wich is counted every 15 minutes. Kills and objectives are all counted as useful actions.
thx bro
do you play with mouse and keyboard
I use a joystick!
Hell yeah! 109 rules
Are you using a headtracker or playing vr?
Headtracker. I'm using TrackIR :)
You use joystick or mouse?
I'm using a Joystick. Saitek x55 rhino. :)
great video! . If you are into WW2 combat sims , check out DCS ww2 .
Thanks! I might check it sometime. Do you know if there are enough ww2 players in DCS and if there are any cool dynamic war servers like in IL-2?
@@involuntarycommander8804 DCS ww2 doesn't have the amount of aircraft , neither the amount of players online as IL2 . But I highly recommend you to give it a shot . the FM , DM and level of detail of DCS aircrafts , are unique.
@eagle1_160 ok, thanks for the tip :)
If you ever give it a shot. Check out 4YA PO server has an average of 50-60 players during the evening european time. The server has 7 rotative historical missions .
Also, wolfpack server for North american Time evening.
wonderfull
how do these sim players get that 3rd person view?
probably replay mode and edit
Can I have a friendly duel with you please?
I'm looking for sim friends as well
Do you use auto trim or
I use manual trim
nice !
how do u do that? I die all the time in sim
I've had some practise!
You'll get better soon enough :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 also, can you do a P51 mustang ace video?
I will definitely do a P51 video soon! :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 ok thx
Is it vr?
I use TrackIR :)
Epic
Sim but not sim
True it's not as detailed as il2 or dcs which are also good games. But I like the fact that war thunder brings non simers into the hobby by being very accessible. Wouldn't you agree
The thing about ace pilots is that they knew the pros and cons of their and their enemy's planes, this way they could use the pros of their plane and the cons of the other pilot's plane to their advantage. There's a reason pro players always say: "KNOW. YOUR. ENEMY."
An Me 262 won't be able to outmaneuver a spitfire, and a spitfire won't be able to outrun an Me.
There is something better out there, than WarThunder.
It is called "IL-2 Great Battles"
Give it a try
I have tried it out a bit. It is great fun. However, a lot more people play in squads there, so if you just wanna do a quick game alone it's hard to go in solo and expect to survive :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 Thats true. Maybe we can join up together, I suffer atm from the same problem, as my former squadron mates went old or family.
If you do ANY flying in 3rd person then this video is a sham.
Rest assured, I do not :)
I don't even think that's possible in simulator battles mode!
Fighter ace? Nope i see a guy playing arcade game. Let's try It in DCS and than you'll be a hardcore player but Fighter Ace? Nope.
Just let him play the game, plus it's not as easy as you would believe to play war thunder sim, it misses the more practical elements such as interactive cockpits but it makes up for it as it's a fun and stress relieving game mode to play when bored.
cant believe theres milsim movies about warthunder 💀
