Ruslan your going light for Jesus what if his followers in the bible talked just like that "lets just leave each other alone" " Its ok I wont pressure it on you and keep telling you what your doing is wrong" NO WAY imagine if the bible and Jesus was that way everyone would take God as a Joke this is serious we are talking about peoples eternal suffering. It doesnt become reality until your there and have the Oh Sh... moment... we cant be nice and all colors and rainbows the bible is a hard pill to swallow and so is this world.
I love your take at the end @Ruslan, as a believer I don’t think we are called to impose the moralities of God on those who reject Him. We should simply preach the gospel and to live righteously, I see no point in trying to get someone to hold onto the commandments of the Lord when they don’t even believe/accept him

I wasn’t expecting this to be so civil … gives me hope. Maybe that sounds dumb to say, but man everyone just loves getting at each others throats now, it’s really refreshing to see people just talking and disagreeing without being weird and angry and passive aggressive.
I use those buzzwords but I have for years. I don't think and haven't thought that how they treated Palestinians was godly. How we treated blacks during the Jim Crow era was also not godly. BUT what Hamas has done is just as ungodly and I tell them that, too.
I think there's something in the Talmud referring to it, then we have God that wasn't happy they mixed their own laws with His and how they're supposed to respect the stranger... But I haven't quite looked into it so I don't know enough to draw a conclusion
God will sort them out. We as Christians are here to preach the gospel and disciple our own communities.
“Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
We all have our particular demon and temptation we struggle with. But the standard is the standard. And God is faithful to help each of us overcome sin.

@@ddrse Many don't. It's a major struggle sometimes. Before Christ, I didn't keep some of those things. It's easy to justify things one way or another, but that doesn't make sin ok.
That guy saying "if God doesn't like it, I don't want any part of God" is like saying if gravity doesn't let me fly like a bird, I want no part of gravity. Dude, that's not how it works.

20:14 THIS!! All of the LGB friends I've had admitted to being SA'd before engaging in same-sex activity. So glad Ruslan is calling that out!! I'm tired of people making the argument that they're "born that way". Their SA was not a choice, but their engagement in sin is. They should choose therapy.
Ruslan can speak to that way better than me, though. It would be cool to see him have someone on from that community and show them there's a better way: Jesus.
This is not talked about enough. If we could stop SA, I bet we'd see a reduction in LGBT lifestyles.
You are very correct. I was sexually assaulted when I was a kid. Since then I have been struggling with same sex attraction.

I had to grill a family member because she regularly came around my children and was beginning to physically manifest hormonal therapy and trying to transform into a dude. It confused my children, she was pushing her way around them, so she got confronted.

Humans are flawed. No one except Jesus Christ himself would be able to speak exactly with the word of God. I tend to accept that humans no matter what they preach they will have screw ups and not be able to answer everything 100%.
We shouldn’t go based on how we feel or what we think but what’s in the Word of God. If someone asks us what we think about issues like homosexuality we shouldn’t talk about what we believe or think but point to the Bible. That should always be our response.

What I find very interesting in regards to the Sin conversation: "which sin is worse," I was suprised that no one pointed out that it doesn't matter what the sin is, because simply put, any and ALL sin separates us from God. Just like Jesus died for all sin, whether someone believes in him or not. Types of sin didn't matter on the cross. It's ALL paid for.

Anecdotally, I work in a therapeutic forum with LGBTQ+ community (not solely, but close to 50/50 amongst straight people), amd the percentage has to be near 80% of those in the community having a history of SA.
Just because someone has desires doesn’t mean they’re natural. But just because they’re unnatural doesn’t mean you’re in the wrong for having them. You’re only in the wrong if you give into such unnatural desires.

I have also grown up in church, accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, have been baptized, read my Bible, pray for people, and am currently part of my church's main praise and worship team. Society would call THAT being a Christian. So... Yeah that's basically it

There's a long list of sins, all ugly in the eyes of God. As a man on earth I think some are worse than others but I can't speak to how God views that. We all sin and do things we shouldn't do. But through Jesus Christ we are forgiven and redeemed. But taking PRIDE in your sin is something different. Having a parade celebrating your sin, or telling me I should approve and kneel before it is a line crosser. Would you have a parade for rapers and thieves? And the people marching yelling how proud of what they did? We all sin, it's nothing to celebrate or shove in people's faces I think is the point I'm trying to make.

I can do my best to help with this. I am not sure if I necessarily agreed with the word choice, so I will put it like this: As followers of Christ, we will be tempted whether that be by our flesh, the world or the devil, but temptation itself is not sin, its when you act upon that temptation (or desire) where it becomes sin. Sin can be from thoughts, words, or deeds. I think that may be what the person meant. Nevertheless as Romans 12:2 says may the Lord help us to not conform to this world, but to be transformed by the renewal of our minds to be more like Christ and bear good fruit. Hope this somewhat helps :)
I would say it might be more simple than we think. Is it a sin to think someone of the opposite sex is attractive? I would say no, but it’s what follows that matters. Does it turn into lust? Strong desire to pursue an illicit relationship? Or do you submit those thoughts to the mind of Christ and crucify your flesh! It a great thing as a believer to process these things and come to a better understanding! God Bless You!

I mean, some people call themselves Christian but aren’t really into the religion itself, either because of tradition’s sake or something else. I’d once heard from Russia that a guy called himself an Eastern Orthodox and an Atheist… Not really Christian, in my opinion. Of course, God knows everyone’s heart, He knows everything.
It seems to me, like people have created a new law of what “loving Jesus“ looks like. How about we stop wondering, and arguing over who they love, and start focusing on how they love those people. It’s amazing how Christians can’t realize that a man can love another man in a God like way. But no, we want to create laws around the concept and leave half the world feeling alienated from God. It’s funny because the church shouldn’t make sinners feel like the Pharisees made Jesus feel, but that’s all I’ve seen 30 years of being a Christian. Someone needs to chill a bit on idolizing Paul’s structuring of the ancient church and focus on the two laws Jesus said to focus on. Love
@@Jfromgothjock while I do agree it isn't every single Christians job to go out and be a bible thumper, it is the text we live our lives on in it's purest form; nothing added to it. it doesn't just change because a generation decided they didn't like it, that would make it an impure book. Christ doesn't change people because they're gay, he changes them because they're tired of feeling worthless every night before they go to bed. praying to God to 'make you straight' doesn't work, cause you're often missing the bigger picture. it's the root of all ones' suffering he wants to fix. the lonely nights, the rage, the depression, the unhealed trauma. THAT's where Christ's love comes into play. everything else just follows once one allows him to change their heart (for those who want it)

How am I questioning believing the bible I said or typed the only way we as Christians can prove righteousness is better than sin is by BELIEVING the bible and TRUE belief is ACTED upon ie when we are examples of GOD'S provision we see & show that sin is not only destructive but a waste of resources. I believe that God cares for his creation and doesn't want to lose them, because I believed in Jesus and had the humility to honor his name many times throughout my life.
I attained mercy through the New Covenant, agreement, or Testament. Only parts of the old still apply. The old prepared place for the New.
I believe Love is many things, and is doing many things read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (KJV) and study the langauge of the time (Middle English) and do for yourself an order of operations properly like you would use in Algebra. A few things I believe Love does it when you matter greatly it is a kindness(: an act to preserve and help you), that never lies to you.

A concept of the word is the idea that is behind it or what should pop into your head by what the author is meaning. If you do not have the idea of the word correct you have a misconception and it changes the whole story.

Following after temptation, even sexual, is sin and has no part in the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6: 9-11) since indulging in vices erodes personal integrity and ultimately leads to victimizing innocent people.
There's a reason Christ instructed the woman caught in adultery to "go and sin no more" (John 7:53-8:11). Through reading Scripture and applying hermeneutics, we can conclude that the only sexual relationship approved by God is that between a man and a woman married to each other.
