  • my 2007 cadillac escalade air conditioning stopped blowing cold air one day, I added A C refrigerant to it and it started blowing cold so I determined the ac compressor worked fine it must be a leak somewhere.
I parked the truck in my driveway and after awhile I came out and heard a hissing sound and saw some type of fluid on the ground and upon closer inspection of the fluid i saw it was freon leaking. it was at the back of the truck for the rear ac to work. the long hoses that stretch from under the hood to the back tire.. black hoses partially made with aluminum.
the mechanic shop quoted me $2,200 to fix and said most of it was labor I laughed.. i identified it was the ticker hose or the smaller one (high or low side) and i then went online and found the ac hose on amazon for $400 and on ebay for $200 www.ebay.com/itm/Rear-Low-Pre...
    still too expensive...
I then found an "a.c block off kit" www.amazon.com/dp/B07XHFTPCP?...
spent the money and after 1 day of waiting I figured I could make my own block off kit and I did.
i waited for the rest of the freon to leak out again.. l used my dremel and cut just behind the bolts under the hood on the high and low pressure lines. I then removed them from the truck and took a hammer and smashed the cut ends to flatten them to prevent anything for leaking out.
I added a generous amount of gorilla glue to the open end (undamaged end with bolt holes) and let the pieces sit right side up so the glue could dry inside overnight (standing the smashed end on the bottom and leaned it against the wall )
I then took these two pieces I cut off and reconnected them to the main ac lines where I unboltedand left the long hoses i cut off and pushed to the side.
I tightened my pieces on and filled it with freon I bought the pressure gauge and bottle of freon at autozone for $40.
turned the ac to max while having the truck running and started blowing ice cold. its held now for about 3 weeks. never did use the block off kit.

I cut the high side and low side ac lines (thick and thin silver looking aluminum pipes) I did not cut anything else because.. well nothing else is there to cut. I wanted to take a better video but didnt get the time. Ac continued to work really well and saved me a ton of money

@@donetsk95 that was some old amp wiring left over from a previous owner that had dried out and cracked from the heat

So why didn't you install the block off kit instead of hacking up your ac lines....all you needed was a 13 millimeter wrench

@@mcdizzle7740 the low side was busted anyway so cutting a hose already broke didn't bother me I also wanted air conditioning immediately. The block off kit took several days to get
