Agree with you again boys. Also get that minty note. If i also had hazelburn 15 available, then i would reach for that everyday before SB15. Otherwise KK16 if mood is for green fruits etc.
This is a lovely expression. I don’t get Dimetapp but that’s good! I’m not a Dimetapp flavour fan. Love the heavy minty flavour and delicious peat! I was/am thrilled with this beauty. My husband loves it as well. It is a simpler Springbank. I could have more peat. I dislike samples and freebie bottles! I think it impacts opinion sometimes! Saw a reviewer who got a $1,500 bottle of whisky Pig the other day and he gushed. You guys rock!! Grape versus Dimetapp - yes!!! I’d like a longer finish. 48% would be better. For me the Kilkerran 16 is more viscous! Cheers guys!!
So I've got the February 23 release and it's that Dimetapp purple, borderline Jello taste. You mentioned the black box 15s as being weird. I found and bought a couple a few years ago and now you've got me second guessing opening them lol.
As a Springbank fanboy, I'm out at this price on this bottle. My last one was purchased at about half what they're going for now. If I want an arguably better sherried scotch experience, burlap-bagged Highland Parks can still be had for about this price at the same age and cask strength.
Springbank 15 is my least fav springbank by far. I bought a bottle over a year ago. I’m a bit less than half way through it. I’ve probably gone through 20 bottles of lagavulin since then.
OK, so not having any idea about that brand I would’ve thought you guys would’ve at least told us upfront that it was a single malt whiskey. During the first 10 minutes of the show, I thought it was a blended whiskey but I am not a single malt fan.
Thanks for the feedback. I honestly don't even think about these legal terms with how convoluted I find them. But even with a nerd brand like this, we sometimes forget someone might just check out our videos! Heck, I've noticed we don't even say who's who to start the videos. We always make sure to use eachother's names but an intro isn't a bad idea. Cheers Dustin
I love you guys but i sometimes have the feeling you want to hate Kilkerran 😅 I would love to see you start doing semi blind tastings, you'd be surprised with the results without the influence of the labels !
@@RomainRiviere lol, i do blinds all the time. I makes it harder to pickup finishing vs malt. Otherwise, I've never noticed a big difference. Nearly everyone always calls otu what was in the glass anyway.
Sadly that's the new MSRP in the states. Sometimes you'll get stores that even up charge on that already crazy price. Wish we had UK prices where these are half of this!
@@troublesome89 even at total wine? I know you guys get all kinds of shops marking stuff up, but I'd hope the major chains aren't doing that. But yeah, I'd generally ignore any price in Cali and/or NY/NJ as those are their own economies.
@topshelfdustin3060 I'm talking about smaller shops. The big guys rarely have Springbank, and if they do, it's typically the standard 10. However, I was recently lucky enough to pick up Local Barley 13 years for $210.
@@troublesome89 nice. Here I see the 15 as much if not more than the 10. 15 doesn't move as fast despite getting less of it. Still waiting for the LB to drop here. I expect it'll be more like 220-250 when I see it. I'd add only two stores in 100 miles of me get springbank at all. Neither's small.
2022 was the best 15 I've ever had. Great review guys, agreed on the viscosity drop down.

Have only had the July 2019 15 year. Beautiful BIG sherry. Very good so glad I picked up 4 at $90.
Great price
Got a fall 2023 one of these that had heavy sulphur unfortunately. Never had that in any of my 15s before.

I'm sure they had batch differences too, might as well crack one and find out!
Did ya guys tried lasted 15 batch ? Feb 15 2024 bottling? Its awesome!
Eagerly waiting for you guys to review…😊
Good to hear! We will always try to get every release.

I’m game!
Blinds are fun with bourbon and maybe some really similar malts. springbank however...not gonna confuse their malt in a blind.
@@topshelfdustin3060 oooh...sounds like someone's afraid to play THE game. :)

@@topshelfdustin3060 I know you used to like WhiskyMystery. I wish you and Mike could be the new Phil and Deepa.
What's a reasonable price range for this bottle?
They already told you in the video...
Keep it under 200
It’s $145CAD in Alberta, if you can find it
Where on earth are you finding Springbank 15 for $150??

@@topshelfdustin3060 I was gonna say that the cheapest price I was able to find here in California is $190.
