The full sus is so much more comfy, but lots of people forget that a hardtail can ride 90% of everything a FS can. I’ve been riding a $500 hardtail in the Rockies for 2 years now and yeah, even though it’s taken some beatings, I’ve still ridden everything I’ve come across. It does rattle your bones though.

You guys confused the slides for uphill and downhill. My bank account has informed me that Hardtail is the choice for me. I like the speed, lightness, and descending stability. It all depends though, on very rough terrain the enduro is better. Obviously in a perfect world you have one for each need but in the real world we make the most of what we have.

I bought last year after 20 years on HT first full. Ill never go back. IT so much better in every way. Even clibming is better, because I dont have to worry about unloading rear wheel in technical climb.
Mid-travel trail, Banshee Prime, with 135 is my next bike. Lobe my steel SS hard tail but it is beating the heck out of me on the rooty downhills where I live.
I'm so glad to see you riding my local trails! I ride that trail on a hardcore hardtail, a Kona Honzo ESD. The modern long, low and slack geometry is really helpful on those sections, and knowing that the full trail is only 30 kilometers long, riding it on a hardtail isn't such a crazy idea. Hardtail works for me for now, theres some trails that are too steep/fast/rough that I've done that I probably wont do again because of how unstable it becomes unless I drag the brakes the whole way down. But, It allows me to afford my BMX, DirtJumper, lots of guitars, Car insurance and a Car all on a Grocery Store Clerk's wage. Remember to return your Shopping Buggies/Trollies back in the corral's as it allows us to keep stock the shelves better instead of wandering the parkinglot recording buggies from parking stalls, curbs, ditches, blocking the exit door of the store, etc. It really does take away from the actual job when people just leave them anywhere, and the one I work at doesnt have the coin operated locks so customers tend to create an obstacle course just outside the exit and interdock the large and small buggies which dont actually fit together. Soooo much oversharing, LOL Cheers from BC, Canada.
All my local grocery stores have a "buggy employee" someone who gets paid to just retrieve buggies 😁 But we still "suppose" to return in buggy return sections.
@@mikeburgh3956 I've only heard of that being at much larger stores and even then they usually have the coin operated lock which allows buggies to be linked together for much easier transport as well. As it is, I can only steer around 6 at a time, arms are only so long. It wouldnt be a problem if that was the dedicated job, but really its cheaper for the store to just install the coin locks, as buggies are pretty expensive and we have a huge homeless population in the city I'm in BC, Canada, we lose alot of buggies but our store still hasnt gone the locking route, most of the surrounding stores have though. I love my hardtail, a Giant Fathom 1 with 27.5" front and back. Can take it to the dirt jump park, pump track and flow trails. My full sus ebike only feels good on rough trails and sketchy downhills.
I've ridden loads of hardtails. My current one is a 2021 Orbea Laufey. The only thing I haven't changed or upgraded is the frame. My last major upgrade was going from 140mm RochShox Recon. To 150mm RockShox Domain forks. I also have a 2022 Ordea Rallon. With a few changes.
I got a cheap full sus, my hardtail is deffo a better spec but I love them both , I send the full sus harder but use the hardtail more as it’s cheaper and less hassle to maintain
Great and informative video. I have a Trek Marlin 7 hard tail and I love it. I don’t ride heavy terrain or do jumps or drops over a few feet, so the hard tail fits me perfectly.

I don’t do highly technical stuff. I just ride on rough off road conditions. I use a hard tail with 3x7 gears, a suspension fork, and nothing special. I don’t need the complicated full suspension of enduro. In fact someday I might get rid of the air fork to increase simplicity.
As someone who's more of an XC and gravel rider and who doesn't like steep and rocky terrain, hardtail or short travel FS for me. You'll never find me on an Enduro rig
Horses for courses. The average Joe will do the same things on both, FS is a luxury, more expensive more comfy more status I have both and I am the average Joe so I know :)

You’ll never stop me riding a hardtail… they’re beautiful looking machines that do everything you need to do, you can’t beat them. Stick some bigger tyres on it and some decent front forks and you can tackle anything. Gotta love a hardtail…

Lucky to have both, but might sell them for a 2nd hand emtb full sus having ridden my first one recently. Specialized levo something or other, it ticked all the boxes for me, apart from the price!
i love my hardtail to death, and definitely ride things i shouldn’t on it. sadly i am probably gonna sell for a FS trail bike just to keep from beating my bike and body up as much, especially since i’ll be using my bike for work this year. i like steep chunky tech too much 😢 but a hardtail homie can’t lose 💯

People got oversold on enduro type bikes, that's why everyone and his mom are selling them on marketplace, I even suspect some newcomers abandoned their good intentions of 2020-22 not helped by an intimidating 38 lbs bike with tires who need 1000w just to keep rolling 😂
For me it would be a compromise. 120mm front and rear xc bike with lockout and dropper posts. Best of both worlds. Good enough for anything for an amateur like me.
1 Horse for many courses clearly has to be the most balanced bike, which has to be either an all mountain or trail bike.. Lighter and more comfortable to climb with than an enduro... To me at least an enduro is really a downhill bike with the after thought of throwing in some climbing ability to make it sit somwhere in the middle between trail and downhill.. But if were genuinely talking a 50/50 split between climbing and decending then its all mountain/trial bike imo..

I would always go for the hardtail, but not a 12kg one - no way 😧I would pick the Exceed CF SLX with under 10kg 😁 - and it is even cheaper than the enduro bike. Btw. from a price perspective, your bike comparisons get pretty weird.
An rear suspension must always be checked,pression etc, some psi more or less makes it an horrible ride....... So my suggestion: You can ride everything on a hardtail if speed is not the only thing. Hardtails for ever!!!!!❤
I mean, you have to perform these same procedures on the hardtail as well, so if you're going to be checking or setting up the fork anyway, it only takes a couple of extra seconds to check the rear shock. Additionally, when there is only front suspension, a change in pressure is much more noticeable and detrimental.

My bank account told me to buy used so I shopped for a while and found Fuse 27.5 for $750 and previous gen Colossus N9 for $850.

Trek hardtail 26" 6000 series, only the frame and shifters are original and my new Commencal Clash 27.5 and I love each for what they do!

For me its the hardtail sure its not as fast downhill as the enduro but for the type of riding I do (alpine/trail) it suits me to the ground

I like a trail bike myself. They're lighter than but can do pretty much anything an enduro bike can do. Cheaper too for the most part.
Not to forget , the reliability of a hardtail!!

My Clash rolls just fine and easy. Both wheels being 27.5, less mass, nimbler, more playful and won't stink at climbing like a mullet.

EMTBs are for lazy people (unless you have a physical issue), that's why you won't see an E hardtail.
