I think the slow shifting is due to the cassette not being hyperglide, so it doesn't have the specific ramps of the genuine shimano hyperglide cassettes. Probably bc cost cutting. Nice ride though. Polygons are great but they are always out of stock where I live.
Did a little looking and some maths and rounding and it looks like you can have 5 people in a group and if the ride is averaging 2000 Canadian then it's about 300 US per person. Just in case anyone wanted to know. That's good money for a good memory.
I'm a Trek guy and my wife recently started riding MTB with me. She likes XC and flow trails so I was gonna get her a Trek Top Fuel but she refused to let me spend that much so after a bunch of research I got her a Polygon Siskiu D7 for $1199. That bike does everything she needs it to do with the only changes being touch points and a shorter dropper. i would recommend a Polygon to anyone looking for a really functional entry level bike.
Bought the D7 for my son 4 years ago when he was 13, he's been riding and racing moto since he was 4. He has beaten the tar out of that thing ever since and have only changed to Magura 4 piston brakes and replaced worn out drive train components. It has held up to Mt Bachelor, the Lair in Bend, Or., and countless jump line runs around southern Oregon. Last fall I bought the Polygon N8E for myself and earlier this year i got the N7 as well. Needless to say we are sold on Polygon.
@@josephcombs3324I just commented that it’s not a budget bike. It’s a bike with budget components. I have beat the fuck out of a D7. Cracked the frame. Got a remedy 8 for 1k to get me by. Got a new frame for the D7. And I’ve been riding it again with upgraded components. Obviously the d7 pedals better uphill but both feel the same going down hill. Marketing is such bullshit
I just rediscovered Jordan's videos after years. I grew up watching him and the second I heard his voice a wave of nostalgia hit me lol. He prolly won't see this, but thanks for the memories man
Bikeonline are great service! I'm on my 3rd year with a Polygon for my trail bike and just upgraded all the important stuff that counts and it turned out to be a great bike.
As a "rip the tag off and ride" kind of guy, I like this video. I will ride whatever and enjoy myself. Happened to rent a Levo one day and it ruined me on pedaling, but, I still havent changed anything on the bike, never downloaded the app, and it works well for me since I like to ride in colorado about 4 days out of the week.
I found that (HBO) Hydraulic Bottom Out on the Super Deluxe to be an upgrade of its own. Nice to see it preinstalled from stock. I had installed on an ultimate and It made a huge difference.
Not gonna lie Jordan, but that hyperview chest POV is amazing. I think it really improves the qaulity of your footage. Really awesome video btw, I absolutely loved it!
Yeah Jordan pretty good bike for the price see dentists you don’t need to spend 11 K to have fun 😂😂 so stoked you got to ride with Alex such a shredder You have to be a shredder to ride with Rémy Métailler much love from the UK and hope you’re recovering well
Me on my $800 mtb with coil forks 💀 In reality, it's a really good bike from decathlon with lower end components, making it easier for a student like myself to get into mountain biking. Yeah, it's an SR Suntour front coil fork, and some unnamed rear coil. It's all round pretty good, tektro hydro brakes and a microshift 9 speed make this bike really good. For now, I've put some continental tires on it and my next upgrade will hopefully be a dropper. After that, I'll hang onto the bike and put some air suspension on it :)
Man that’s cool I bought my Devinci Marshall right as covid started for 2200 and slowly upgraded it. But out of the box it was an absolute ripper! Just very heavy 😊
I grew up on the north shore trails with my Specialized xc full-sus. I'd upgrade everything but the frame until my 20s when biking took a back seat - until recently in my mid-30s. I bought that frame for $600 used.
Great looking bike. My prediction based on experience is that you will love the bike and other than a few personalised changes you'll keep it as is. The lower end suspension in my opinion is fine as when you get the higher end stuff it takes longer to get set up because of all the twerking options. Once set up though does anyone really make changes? That's why I think it's fine. A zeb is a zeb.
Amazing riding as always, but I really dislike the max lens mod. Especially near the top of the trail, where you’re high enough that you can always see the horizon, the warping is incredibly noticeable.
I always wonder about super remote trails like that. Who builds and maintains them and how do they get out there? I'd assume they ride out on dirt bikes or something with shovels and chainsaws in a backpack but I can only guess. That was crazy though!
hyperveiw on the chesty is dope, it would definitely be better if you didn't have another go pro in the top of frame, seeing the visor come in and out is cool because it ads....depth maybe, more context? Not sure the right word.
Ive got these tektro orion 4p+2 brakes on my '08 Big Hit and they ride pretty well. Since I'm light and I usually do short downhill trails, they don't overheat and stop the bike before the wheel locks
I have a top spec and a mid range suspension setup between both my bikes. Tbh there’s not a crazy difference if your a set up suspension and forget it type of rider.
Put Shimano resin or metallic brake pads in them and that'll fix most of the braking performance. Tektro run a very firm compound that lasts forever but feels like a block of wood 😂
😞I feel left out whenever someone who prefers 26ers and 27.5ers considers riding a 29er. I need some validation, haha. I mean I own a 29er but I'm still not sure I like it for most conditions. It's fast and it corners like it's on a rails, but it's a handful on tech and tight sections. Maybe there's merit to riding all three wheel sizes and picking and choosing depending on the trail?
TL:DR its not the bike its the rider. if you think your not having a good time bc you have a budget bike then you are just a shitty rider that needs to learn skills as opposed to buying a more expensive bike
I did too, bought a 600 dollar bike and rode it for years. Then I went to a DH park and tried my luck there. Hands went numb before one lap was over, rented a real bike and it felt like I suddenly learned magic. After moving to the mountains and looking back at the abuse I've put on a $6000 bike and it just never breaks and always saves my ass, I know it's worth it.
i miss some first imprssions of the fork and setup whilest u r riding...and now u can start changing every single component to get the total satisfaction and endurance ;) greetings

"You don't always need the most expensive thing to have fun on the trails." I would say you never need the most expensive thing to have fun on the trails. If you feel you do need the most expensive thing to have fun then your brain is broken.
It was so much fun to take this new bike on a Heli ride!

Helicopters are definitely best at the start of the ride rather than the end eh? 🙂 Looks like an epic trail and even better weather too, good stuff!
definitely man!

Thanks for making this, Jordan! We hope you're enjoying your new toy!!
That fork is really an awesome choice because you can spend just a few hundred bucks on the high end damper and make it basically an ultimate.
I blew my damper in my lyric and it got sent back as a 2025 ultimate 😮

Polygons are underrated
if they had UDH they'd be sick. other than the hanger itself but for axles etc
@@MrSupermugen True, maybe they don't get much of a recognition to use UDH...
They are pretty underrated but getting a used bike is just a better deal in my opinion.
The slow shifting is a function of the Sunrace cassette. A Deore will speed that up!
I grew up on the north shore trails with my Specialized xc full-sus. I'd upgrade everything but the frame until my 20s when biking took a back seat - until recently in my mid-30s.

The french accent of the french on the yellow bike 😆
Shit's nice for a budget bike.
Maybe remove the useless warning stickers, replacing them with Boostmaster or Ride or Die stickers.
Its actually a pretty good bike for the price all stock vs other brands in my opinion
Holy linkage bearings Batman!
Now those are my kind of trails
I love that you showed the clip of you sending the 30(?)ft then admit "29ers i'm not quite used to this". Thanks for the laugh

Jordan when are you coming to kamloops
Wow what ann beatiful place in the world...stunning ride!! bike is also good 4 the job...cheap= is not always bad..u pay also for the brands
Amazing place to ride. I wish I could do it
Polygon fam, nice! You're seeing more of them on trails
Its rear suspension platform is called LMIS - lets make it simple.
I am looking for a bike that i can do stuff like this this like jumps and stuff like this any recommendations
Idk how you can ride such small bikes it’s crazy to me haha. You’re very good though so obviously it works.
can you try a santa cruz? nomad c is a really nice frame! i recomend it. love ur vidoes!
$2k for a brand new bike is wild! That's basically what a 2nd hand 2020 model Enduro bike sells for locally... 🤯
Good way to save the money on the bike to spend it on the heli ride lol.
Put Shimano resin or metallic brake pads in them and that'll fix most of the braking performance. Tektro run a very firm compound that lasts forever but feels like a block of wood 😂
That gopro max view looks a bit strange. It's difficult to put my finger on it, but I feel like there's too much blur on youtube.
another video about how its the rider that makes the bike good not the other way around
you should do hyperview chesty more
I actually hate hyperview mode
Fyi the keyring is also a bottle opener 👌
Hey I live in van and I have the exact same bike!
I was thinking about that bike but I don’t need that much suspension yet I’m thinking the t8
Wow this looks amazing. How long did the downhill take in raw riding time?
I think it was about 40 min of riding time
nice ride, you forgot to remove the dork disc?
Install a proper shimano cassette and the shifting speed will be fixed.
Could it be that the cable tension on the shifter is not up to par causing the slow shifting?
What did you think of the front brake, the 4 piston one? Im looking to buy a budget 4 piston brake set soon.
Now I kinda wanna know if the N7 feels better than the Transition Patrol or vice versa. Hope I would see that video in the future :D
Polygon is definitely underrated, but it's on a heavy side. Not everyone wants to have a heavy frame. But hey, their customer service is really good!

zeb on a 2000$ BIKE?!?!??! so crazy, unfortunately i live in europe :(
They sell in Europe. You just need to find a different dealer other than bikes online, for example In the UK its go outdoors

How did you get them to ship to you up here in Canada?
Likely that SunRace cassette and KMC chain making it shift poorly. 11 speed 11-51 Deore would have been a better spec.

no it's a different trail
You might have a dyslexic understanding of 29" traction and contact to ground. Might want to rethink that one.
29" wheels have more contact patch on the ground, so therefore have more traction
