Cool review of the G.I. Joe Robo Joe. It was a very tough competition for Hasbro to try keeping G.I. Joe line at the top with so many competitors and new toy fans.
I loved this figure when I was a child. For real. It just goes to show: one man's trash... And I think Rock & Roll had a purple weapons' tree, HCC. BAAT got the yellow one. Hopefully the plastic is a little sturdier...
This style of figures was the nail in the coffin for me and the vintage line. My brother and I had Hawk and the B.A.A.T. in this style, and I was really disappointed with the lack of articulation. I don't think I got any more figures after that. I was also getting out of toys altogether at the time, so it seemed like a good place to stop. My brother and I did have the big Star Brigade robot. It was ok. I think you could fit one figure inside the head as the driver and that was it.
Thank you! It was designed by Sean Hutchinson. He did a few designs for me to put on the website. It's a trip to have my own T-shirt. I never thought I could say that!
The same thing with the Transformers Ultra Pretenders Roadblock where many said parts of the figure was made of gold plastic where it would also become brittle
Fun review of a figure I never even knew about! He is an odd halfway point between a Joe and C.O.P.S that I will now have to get thanks to this review. I think you are secretly manipulating the market of under-appreciated figures to help them become well sold and beloved everywhere!
The Helmat looks like one Liefeld tended to use when making a character that is an obvious knock off of Batman or when he obviously doesn't want to draw a character's head.
I enjoyed this more for the acting on you and your families part than I did for the figure. I just got him and the Roadblock figure cause my buddy threw them in with a couple of other figures I got and I was still on the fence about taking them lol. I literally hid them on the inside of my defiant booster shuttle!!!!
Thank you, Chris! I'm glad you enjoyed some part of it. Here's the deal: if I have to look at these crazy 90s figures, I'm going to have some extra fun with them. Otherwise, I don't know if I could get through it.
Is this the end of HCC 788? Will Mrs. HCC 788 pick up where he left off and review the EcoForce? Will Snake Eyes version 4's fluorescent weapons never be reviewed? So many unanswered questions ...
As a kid I had several of the armored Star brigade figures. They kind of sucked and broke a lot. My Rock n Roll had his arm snap and my B.A.A.T had it's head break off just from turning it.
Nice review HCC788!!! Wonder is there is a special ability for Transformer reviewers like me? By the way, on the card backer that showed the giant robot; did you notice the shadow picture of Hawk as the pilot of it? The picture is actually of the Action Master version of Shockwave!!! Have the Decepticons infiltrated G.I. Joe?
I don't know if regeneration works for Transformers reviewers. There's only one way to find out, but I don't recommend it! I did not know the Hawk silhouette of hawk is actually a transformer. I'll have to remember that when I review the Armor bot. Hopefully that will be a long time from now, because I am in no hurry to get that toy.
I can certainly agree to that about the Armor Bot. Instead of regeneration, our best hope is probably finding Unicron and being reformatted. I don't recommend it either.
Is it possible that the RoboJoe is a normally sized dude once he's outside his armor? Maybe he just has a little metal in his face and the rest of him looks normal!
the concept was good, but the execution was pretty bad. worst of all was the color scheme I think. that sprinkle paint was the final tombstone. r.i.p. for good taste. starting in 88, I began picking only a few pieces from the line, not all as I used to before. mostly cobras, as they transitioned better in the science fiction genre than the joes. I persist thinking that the joes should have had enhanced regular army weapons and color schemes to carry the realistic military feel most fans look for.
I would have been happier if the Joes had evolved along those lines. Unfortunately, I think Hasbro was more concerned about competing with Power Rangers.
You used force lighting. That's cheating!!! Since you enjoyed reviewing Robo-Joe so much you must now review the Cobra BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT.
I tried to get in touch with you earlier about modifying some GI Joe weapons broken ones of course no disrespect intended I may even be able to repair some I'm going to track down some weapons myself that are broken modify them and send them to you I have my own UA-cam channel where I build models the idea is to make it look realistic once again no disrespect intended
Now let me get this straight. HCC788 has Sith lightning powers and can regenerate like a Time Lord in DOCTOR WHO?!! WTF man! The review was OK but I'm still trying to understand the ending of it. See ya!
excellent review .....but ummm ... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA ...what the hell is that??....I'm sure glad I wasn't collecting in the 90's after seeing whatever this was ....hahahahahahahhaaaa
great review of a horrible figure!!! the employees at hasbro at this point in time, either weren't trying at all, or were only trying to cut corners, to squeeze a few more bucks from the line....
Yes, Robo-J.O.E. (Jet-Tech Operations Expert) wasn't one of the best Joes (even if he *was* on the Joe side). I *do* see the B.A.A.T.s as the same as the 1986 B.A.T.s (as well as the same as the late 1991 B.A.T.s), which means Robo-J.O.E.'s virtually the only *new* character in the Star Brigade Armour Tech subset.
Again I ask, if you hate them so much, and rightfully so, why buy them, and waste your hard earned money on these pieces of 💩? Humorous opening with the table, btw.
My error. Use the top cipher on page 2. Yes, I know that's wrong even for THAT page. I don't know how I screwed that up. I'll try to get it right in the future.
oh man!!! where to begin? so poignant, so moving, so, so, so, i'm speechless. I'm refering to the skit, the figure sucked. where do the m-80's attach to this abomination of a figure. i take back all the nasty stuff i said about lobotomaxx, ice cream soldier and heli-viper, those are decent figure compared to this, i don't even want to call it an action figure, maybe a boat anchor or cannon fodder. Dylan Thomas said it best "Do not go gentle into that good night".
Joe, this sounds like a really interesting idea. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back with you on your other comments. I would be interested in seeing what you come up with. I'll also check out your channel. Cheers!
A Doctor Who reference in a GI Joe review? EPIC.
When I saw the thumbnail for this I thought it was a spoof. They actually made that figure?
Awesome review as always.
This review was out of this world!!!!!!! I laughed myself into an asthma attack. Great review HCC!!!
If you die watching my video, I am not legally responsible!
The level to which GI Joe had sunk in the early 90s almost makes me wanna cry!
It was unrecognizable from what we had in the 80s.
@@HCC788 Agreed. So, why do you own them?
Cool review of the G.I. Joe Robo Joe. It was a very tough competition for Hasbro to try keeping G.I. Joe line at the top with so many competitors and new toy fans.
TMNT were killing GI Joe for the last few years by this point.
I can understand original fans not liking the 90's wild joe's but I absolutely love them! As a child of the 90's.
🤮
One of my favorite reviews. Love the humor.
OMG!!! I'm glad I stopped in 86 w
G. I. Joe........
Wish Blzebub could have come back for a final episode to end the series. These are always evergreen. Thanks HCC. I hope you are in a better place.
Is this the end of hcc 788? The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few!!! Live long and YO JOE!!!!!!!
I loved this figure when I was a child. For real. It just goes to show: one man's trash...
And I think Rock & Roll had a purple weapons' tree, HCC. BAAT got the yellow one. Hopefully the plastic is a little sturdier...
I do not love this figure, but you know what I do love? GI Joburg.
Roboturd had one redeeming quality in that he was really good at being the control group for "mostly" contolled explosions when I was a kid...
Lol that ending was actually well done.
Love the emperor lightning at the end lol sent him to action figure hell
Thanks! I'm sure the action figure will end up there!
Wow your videos keep improving! The force is strong with this one!
Thank you! I'm doing my best.
just don't stress

2. There was room for a copilot
I KNEW HCC788 was a Sith!
Awesome Review. I hope you'll come back to life as Destro or Helmeted Cobra Commander.
Cool T-shirt HCC788
Thank you! It was designed by Sean Hutchinson. He did a few designs for me to put on the website. It's a trip to have my own T-shirt. I never thought I could say that!
Hooded CC summoning his inner Dudley Boys by getting the table
The same thing with the Transformers Ultra Pretenders Roadblock where many said parts of the figure was made of gold plastic where it would also become brittle
Funny enough to really make me laugh out loud.
Thumbs up from me buddy.
Then I've done my job. Thank you! :)
Here I thought you were going to flip the table. What toy will bring you to that?
Fun review of a figure I never even knew about! He is an odd halfway point between a Joe and C.O.P.S that I will now have to get thanks to this review. I think you are secretly manipulating the market of under-appreciated figures to help them become well sold and beloved everywhere!
You're on to me!
I never thought you actually had Sith powers!! Hahaha.
Is the head removable? I would combine it with other parts, and B.A.T. arm!
Sith lighting???
The Helmat looks like one Liefeld tended to use when making a character that is an obvious knock off of Batman or when he obviously doesn't want to draw a character's head.
My guy Robo Joe!!
I enjoyed this more for the acting on you and your families part than I did for the figure. I totally understand can't wait till you review Headman, that video should be great!!!!
Epic!
LOL!! He regenerated!!! Cool!
That's right. And the New HCC is gonna run things a bit differently from now on.
Wow! Best episode ever! Couldn't stop laughing the whole time.
Thank you! I'm glad to know someone is laughing at my pain. I'm glad my demise was amusing to you. Monster!
Mwahahaha!
Ok?
I'm just kiddin'.
Oh hey, that wasn't to you. Someone else had insulted me, and now it looks like they have deleted their comment.
Hilarious video, but a little surprised you didn't know about Armor-Bot. Then again, I only saw it once in the stores & bought it.
Epic....just epic
had one of those when I was little...
So hcc788 after you review all of the retro original Joe's what's next?
21:39 hey, it's me lol.
no points for "trying something new"...hahahahahahaahaaaaaa...man I still love your vids
Hope you do more Star Brigade reviews, I was not too big on Joe's in the 90's so I didn't collect any of that lines figures.
Whoa.
I wanna buy a robo-joe now
what were flag points used for
They were redeemable for mail-away offers.
great vids btw but can u give me a few examples I tried searching the youtube for them and got no results was it figs or vehicles or just joe merch
Is this the end of HCC 788? Will Mrs. HCC 788 pick up where he left off and review the EcoForce? Will Snake Eyes version 4's fluorescent weapons never be reviewed? So many unanswered questions ...
Tune in next week!
As a kid I had several of the armored Star brigade figures. They kind of sucked and broke a lot. My Rock n Roll had his arm snap and my B.A.A.T had it's head break off just from turning it.
Poor man. Crazy props for putting yourself through the review of this beyond horrible figure.
Thank you for watching. I will go to any lengths to make reviews of bad toys watchable. I will even sacrifice my life!
I think we need GPSA t-shirts
The GPSA needs your help. Give 'til it hurts.
Nice review HCC788!!! Wonder is there is a special ability for Transformer reviewers like me?

Ironic the Star Brigade figures remind me of the Centurions especially Doc Terror & Hacker
Is it possible that the RoboJoe is a normally sized dude once he's outside his armor? Maybe he just has a little metal in his face and the rest of him looks normal!
At a glance, it looks just like Dr. Terror from Centurions.
Certainly got a better review than Cobra L.A. lol 😂🤣😅
Why didn't they take robo t. Joe???? Why?
the mail away catalog was better than the pegs in store. you could have gotten whale in 1993 for 5 flag points and 30 bucks.
Oh no they did this to Duke and rock n roll?!!!!! And lord do they have enough weapons?
Gijoe thanks to Rob Liefeld. Even his backstory is like a generic Image Comics character.
Your wife is so funny😁
Two and a half minutes in and I lost already. This guys shape looks like it belongs more in the Centrions toy line.
Should have watched the whole video first. Anyway, congrats on your new look.
the concept was good, but the execution was pretty bad.
worst of all was the color scheme I think.
that sprinkle paint was the final tombstone. r.i.p. for good taste.

the figure even looks sad...I mean look at him he knows he is bad
His backstory reminds me of Frax
i'm hearing some slight crackling
Hcc788 = old man Logan?
Well, I am old.
Well, after 10 years Hasbro was reeeeally having to stretch for new characters/vehicles, so I'm not surprised they got weird...
Alright.... When u doing centurions reviews? Power Extreme!!!!!!
NOOOO MY HAND IT MUST BE GOLD PLASTIC SYNDROME
You used force lighting. That's cheating!!! Since you enjoyed reviewing Robo-Joe so much you must now review the Cobra BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT.
Todo truly suxed, but this vid was hilarious!
Maybe he’s a night creeper deep down

The 90s was pretty scary. Robo-JOE may not even be the worst.
HoodedCobraCommander788 that one is definitely up there though
Wait til we get to the Mega Marines.
HoodedCobraCommander788 oh no it gets worse????
M.G.Villan the mega marines weren't awful... great sculpts, poor colors poor concept. but i give them a pass based on the great sculpt
Force lightening! Harsh dude! Lol. :)
It was the lack of articulation that really did it for me!!!
this is what happens when you let you son design your toys for you. Shark Girl and lava boy anyone?
Wow you just gave your self bran damage
Hay, at least ROBO-JOE makes slightly better sense than that Lobotomaxx weirdo; he's a cyborg, not a lame-ass alien...
Oh cool a cyborg! Aaand nevermind they ruined it.
Wha. Da. Hell?
Crap figure. Great review. Most entertaining, loved the fight music too.
Thank you! I hope some entertainment makes up for any damage to your eyes caused by the figure.
Upon 1993, it was 99% crap!
great review of a horrible figure!!! the employees at hasbro at this point in time, either weren't trying at all, or were only trying to cut corners, to squeeze a few more bucks from the line....
Not only does Robo J.o.e not stand for anything GI Joe but by attacking you, a good guy. He is also a disgrace to the Joe team
Looks like a knock off of a space marine
My biggest hot take: I fucking love the way this looks with the helmet on. It looks like a damn Kamen Rider.
Helmet off, I'm not as big a fan.
That thing is horrible,it reminds of Twiki the little robot in "Buck Rogers" .
Just weird.
Stop ripping off the Doctor.
Again I ask, if you hate them so much, and rightfully so, why buy them, and waste your hard earned money on these pieces of 💩? Humorous opening with the table, btw.
I really don't like this guy yet I like most joes, he looks like some kind of terminator ripoff and he's got a dicky name.
My codebook must be broken. this message makes no sense.
My error. Use the top cipher on page 2. Yes, I know that's wrong even for THAT page. I don't know how I screwed that up. I'll try to get it right in the future.
Ah! In that case:
3 330 240 330 240
oh man!!! where to begin? so poignant, so moving, so, so, so, i'm speechless.
Believe it or not, someone at Hasbro, sometime in 1992, wrote this idea down on paper, and someone stamped "Approved!" on it.
does not look like Batman it looks like crap man! LOL
Skits suck really bad. It makes an otherwise good review video difficult to get through
I had no idea GI Joe went this low I mean I grew out of the figures around 1988 but this I never knew excisted abd is horrible
not funny
I tried to get in touch with you earlier about modifying some GI Joe weapons broken ones of course no disrespect intended I may even be able to repair some I'm going to track down some weapons myself that are broken modify them and send them to you I have my own UA-cam channel where I build models the idea is to make it look realistic once again no disrespect intended
