Thank you so much! I remember owning two 'castle like' playsets. One was Castle Greyskull and the other for the life of me I had no idea where it was from. I must've gotten it as a present when I was a kid. To this day I didn't know what it was until this video and it was the Robo Force playset. Never heard of Robo Force but yeah, owned a playset back in the day apparently. Thanks for solving this decades old personal mystery.
I had no idea any of these existed... I wish I had gotten more into the Bionic 6. That cartoon was awesome. Thanks for another cool episode, see you in the next one, and stay dorky. 😁
I'm pretty sure kid me would've used The Ice Castle from Blackstar as a base for my MOTU Figures. I think it would've made a great fortress for Skeletor after King Hiss kicked him out of Snake Mountain.
The Blackstar Ice Castle was gorgeous. But it was made of that same blow molded plastic that they made the Star Trek TMP bridge set out of. As it ages it becomes incredibly brittle and prone to shatter. Second only to the infamous Popy/Bandai metallic blue plastic.
Great video!! I didn't have any and only remember the cryatal castle because my cousin had it. It's great seeing these old play sets especially if you don't remember them or knew about them.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, i have so much fun researching and hunting about topics like this. I learn so much about what i missed out on as a kid, lol. Thanks for watching!!!!
Heya Rob! Dude, I totally missed Robo Force. I mean, I probably saw the toys in the Sears catalogs but other then that it really didn't register for kid me...with an exception! That freaking HUGE Maxx Steele robot!! That was the holy grail of robot toys. I drooled over that 3000 dollar "toy" for YEARS man. I vaguely remember Blackstar, wasn't really into it, but dude that play set! The castle looks AWESOME! And glow in the dark?! If it said glow in the dark, that was like the cherry on top of the sunday back then. Yeah that She-ra castle man, thats cool. Girls got these awesome detailed plastic pieces to their play sets, we got cardboard with some art on it, if we were lucky. lol Love these vids man, keep radding it up!
Dude?!? A huge Maxx Steele?!? I gotta see this!!! Glow In The Dark stuff still gets me excited, lol. Kids today have no idea since everything is electronic and lights up, lol. Thanks for watching!!!
With the first playset on this video you've solved a mystery from over 20 years ago for me, I got this base on it's own from a car boot sale assuming it was for 3/4 figures - sold it years ago but again preesh you answering where it came from toy line wise.
The Overlord's henchman Vizir was made for Blackstar, the last series. That's probably why he appears on the art he wasn't made when they made the castle. I've heard the Ice Castle is fragile, maybe it got brittle with age.
Looking like it my man, definitely had to shift some things, but my toy collection is getting an overhaul, can't wait to get to the point of sharing, I'm stepping up my game brother!
My mother went out to find me the castle grayskul when I was a kid! I got the Ice castle! The woman at the store told her it was the same thing! I still have it some where! And yes He man fits lol! RIP mom I miss ya!
First, RIP to your mom. She was great for even attempting to find you Castle Greyskull. Sounds like a pretty awesome lady. Second, that was such a common thing growing up... the dreaded toy switch from some punk store clerk, lol. The one story I'll always remember was when a video store clerk told my friends mom to get Trolls because it was just like ET, lol. Either way, epic playset! Thanks for watching!
Wow, talk about saving the best for last. I was kind of "heh" about this whole topic as most playsets were overrated and way overpriced. I would have had more fun as a kid if my parents had spent the money for Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain on figures. That Bionic 6 thing looks awesome though. I've never seen it before but if you got a hold of a couple of those you could probably make some cool sets to play with. Modular is always better. There was a hack you could do to force a couple Ewok Villages together around a tree stump if you could get a hold of multiple pieces which is semi doable with Ebay and Chap Mei has some cool pieces you could throw in to dress it up. Then mix in some Construx and that Bionic 6 playset and you got the ultimate playset. Low key though I think Playmobil has some pretty cool stuff that I'd go drop big bucks on if I could afford it. Great job of coming up with forgotten playsets because I never knew She-Ra got a castle too.
Playmobil is still the king of playsets and accessories! I never had any, and still don't but I would love to get my hands on some of them, lol. Thanks for watching!!!!
@@MySideoftheLaundryRoom drop by my channel sometimes. i am about to premiere a meh video about a mech lego i just built. it's not one of my better videos, on purpose, but my better videos are getting better. i'm learning software to do them but still can't make transitions on this
Actually its an entirely new sculpt. Its one floor short, more narrower. the wall is on the other side. And its longer than the Ghostbusters firehouse.
The police academy toy line went with and copied the look of the short lived Saturday morning cartoon, weren't really based on movie... like how Beetlejuice toy line was set up
70"s & 80"s toys were so cool! I've never seen any of these before, that crystal castle looks awesome!
Yeah, they don't make 'em like that anymore.
Thanks for watching, my friend!!!
That Police Academy set looks like it would pair well with the Ghostbusters firehouse.
Heck yeah!!
@@MySideoftheLaundryRoom i think its the same model
True vintage classics!
Heck yeah!!!

Me either. Part of the fun of doing these episodes is uncovering hidden gems like that.

LOL, great idea! I love the idea of cross-play with other toylines.

People tend to forget that Police Academy had a cartoon tie-in series as well.

Very true
Let's talk about sets
Sounds good to me. Have plenty more episodes to come in this series.
