Good morning, Angie. Just wanted to take this time to thank you for all the work you put into your channel. I am also 60, and I think I have been watching you for about eight years. I’ve learned so much and I’m so grateful. I will miss you on Tuesdays, but so happy you’ll still be doing your Friday videos (or whatever day works for you!😊). You seemed sad on Tuesday and I hope all is well with you. I know I speak for many when I say that you are a bright spot in our weeks! Thank you, again. Barb. 🌷

Good morning skincare lovers!! I've been looking for sunscreen companies that use coated zinc oxide & titanium dioxide in their mineral sunscreens so you can layer them with your US chemical sunscreens with confidence! So far I've read that SuperGoop & Paula's Choice use only coated minerals in their sunscreens! I'll keep looking and add more here as I find them. Have a great weekend! 💜
*Update: Just read that another term for uncoated zinc is non-nano zinc so if your mineral sunscreen is non-nano then I wouldn't mix it with a US chemical sunscreen.

I'm 62. I've been using Retin A since my mid 20s. I reduced from 1.0 to .5 many years ago. My skin still loves it after all these years. I mix with a little moisturizer on my neck.

I’m 59 and I’ve never moved beyond .025 and still see results. I’ve been using for several years and the lower dose helped me to use it without much irritation. Started every other day and with moisture on top. Continued that for a year and then moved to every day. My derm says higher dose not necessarily better unless you are younger with oily skin. I did start using on my eyes after a year but always mixed with skin oil and moisturizer.

Retin A is the gold standard but it really is true that some people can’t use it, no matter how slow they go. I kept trying for years because I had fomo! But my derm finally convinced me that I’m one of those people, doing more harm than good, even at 1x/week. I give Agency credit for telling me the same thing when I tried the Future formula, thinking it might be more tolerable at the lowest level. Inflamation is terrible for skin and can make other issues worse so,for some, we are better off w/retinaldehyde. It’s important for people to listen to their drs and not beat themselves up for being tret intolerant! Thanks for always providing science backed info. ☺️

When I started tretinoin, I used short contact therapy very successfully for my sensitive skin. Apply, wait 5-30 minutes (add time slowly depending on your skin's response), wash your face, and apply your skincare. In the clinical studies comparing short contact with traditional overnight application, results after a year were the same but irritation & side effects were dramatically less. It's another great way to work up to daily overnight application.

@@9NightRaven I started with 2x/week for 5 min and monitored the response. After 3 weeks, I started adding a few minutes each week and adding a day every few weeks. Once I got to 30 min 5x/week, I moved to all night once per week over nighttime skincare & moisturizer. Then, all night once per week plus short contact once per week, and very gradually increasing from there.
I currently do all night twice per week over skincare+moisturizer, plus 2 nights of prescription treatment for melasma, with 3 nights of skincare+moisturizer only.

Hi Angie, lots of great Q&As today on the use of Retin-A. I want to toss in my two cents worth and tell people not to use this product too close to their brows if they have had microblading and want it to last. I learned this the hard way when I had to have my brows touched up after only a year because they were sloughing skin and lightening. My technician said no no! Keep it at least an inch or two away.

Hi Angie, I have been using Retin-A for about 15-20 years and have put it on my eyelids as well as under my eyes, When I have stopped using it for a period of time, I notice that I have a lot of peeling and some red spots once I start again
so I would recommend that it be used regularly. I am 73 yrs of age and have noticed that continued use has noticeably kept my skin looking young even though I was a sun-lover for most of my life.

Great video as always. I follow your skincare exactly and I’m 50, blonde, live in Texas and was a sun lover. I get compliments on my skin regularly. I tried the Maysama green tea and had a serious reaction. Bright red and burning. I’m certain it was that product because it was the only one I put on before using my LED mask. I contacted the company and they immediately refunded my $$ and sent me another product to try. They said it could be the niacinimide or aloe. So if you are sensitive beware! I just use a green tea toner by Isntree and no problems. Just sharing my experience so others are aware.

In case it helps anyone, it took me a full year to ease into 0.14% with Agency. I never had any peeling/irritation with this method. I'm turning 50 and have been complimented frequently on how great my skin is looking, by people who count (e.g. esthetician and PCP), not people who are just trying to flatter me. I was not seeing results with crows feet so I started applying eye cream before applying Tretinoin and in one month, I'm seeing a positive difference.

My Dr once told me not to mix sunscreens but if I am using a skin tint then sometimes layering does happen. My goal is always a 50 spf sunscreen. I also don’t like the feeling of the gel after using my NuFace so I also wipe it off and I also used the Sephora discount sale to replenish my serum. I did not like the steep price but found some coupon codes and shop their sales - it has become one of my favorite sunscreens of everything I have tried (Elta - many of them, Undefined, Paula's Choice, etc). Thanks for your input on skincare, it has been so helpful. The only things that scare me are the Nira and the OmniLux Face, Neck and Chest Mask because I seem to have hyperpigmentation and melasma issues. My skin is about a 3.5 on the Fitzpatrick scale and most lasers and light therapies could be problematic for me, especially if they produce heat. I really don't want to set off those melanocytes. It has worked so well on you, however, your skin is light and that means your melanocytes are much smaller and are not as easily irritated. I do wonder if anyone with skin of color (Fitzpatrick scale of 3 or higher) have used these devices with great results. I'm curious and on the fence about it.

Angie, thank you for helping me to improve my skin over the years with your excellent, well researched advice! Angie, does Agency list the actual weight of product on their bottle? I tried Curology once and noticed no weight on the bottle. Not only that, the “free” bottle came with a small size of cleanser and moisturizer - which I hated both products. I had no idea that I had to opt out of them sending me full size tubes of those 2 items with my next order and got a surprise bill with the extra cost. And of course, they are way overpriced for the size. I felt extremely duped. I stopped my subscription and made an appt for a cosmetic consult with a dermatologist. The first consult was $150, I get a 45g tube of tretinoin for just under $55 and a 28g tube of hydroquinone for under $30 - much much cheaper than the approximate cost of $720/year for mail order subscriptions.
