I have been thinking of you since I watched this video, I am sorry about your divorce. Marriage is not easy and we almost got divorced but we did work it out going to counseling. Thats not for everyone. If you just are not in love anymore it really won't work out. Tears are good and you need to let them out. You had me teary just watching you but you are a strong woman I can see that. You will be much happier being yourself and your girls will always be there for you. So will WE!!

I got divorced after 27 yrs of marriage ( age 55) with 1 1/2 yrs of separation. It was ultimately a relief. I found it so hard to feel so unloved and unwanted when, like you said, they are the person who's supposed to have your back. It's better to be lonely living alone, than to be lonely living with someone else. I couldn't even listen to the radio anymore because one of those "lying love songs" would always come on. That was 17 yrs ago and things couldn't be more different! Ever since I looked into the eyes of my mutual "love at first sight" partner. We have been married for 15 years and it couldn't be better. He even likes to help me pick out clothes, makeup and helps me color my hair. So keep your head up girls! It really can happen, and when you least expect it.

Angie - I didn’t want my divorce after 20 years together but now I can see I am better off. Our oldest son had just passed away from cancer and it was all awful. I had to go get a job and make a life for my younger child. I found your videos and in the midst of horrible grief and pain you were a little escape every Tuesday and Friday . It was an adjustment at the beginning but a couple of years later she wonders why she didn't do it sooner. She has blossomed on every level. She has found her "tribe" and has also thrived professionally. She's working on herself and optimistic about what life has in store. You will be great and your daughters will also be fine. Angie, I’m just watching this today (7/21/21). I was crying while listening to this first part about your divorce. My heart is completely with you. I can say that I totally understand all of your feelings. I went through same. I found myself “officially” divorced on 12/19/18 .. on the exact day of my 21st wedding anniversary. I was 58 yrs old with two kids in college. I had also lived alone for an entire 13 months before my “official” divorce .. so I knew the feeling. Still, it was definitely a punch. What I miss the most is knowing that I ALWAYS have someone in my own corner no matter what .. someone whom I always put first and who always put me first (supposedly, in theory). After 23 yrs of being with someone and 21 yrs of marriage to him, it was hard to realize that now it’s just ME. Even though I do have two kids who love & care about me, I’m not their responsibility and they’re not responsible in any way shape or form for my happiness or well being. And especially now and going forward. So anyway, I’m now alone and solely responsible for me. Unfortunately the stress of being in a narcissistic/emotionally abusive marriage has taken a HUGE toll on my health.. including my physical health. So unlike you, I cannot do what I’d love to do physically. I wish I could😩. I’m not giving up hope though & I’d love to get to a place down the road where my physical health is actually improving. Anyway, I’m rambling. Really just wanted to let you know how much I understand .. and how much I’m wishing you all the best in all the days to come❤️

There’s a misconception that when you’re married you will always have someone in your corner. That would be ideal but we only have ourselves at the end of the day. We come into this world alone and we leave it alone. You are so strong for facing a totally new beginning and starting over. So many people never find that strength. I hope you find your happiness 💕

@@buggy627 thank you so much for your kind words ….but I’m honestly not that strong. I mean, really, do I/we really have a choice here? What’s the alternative to living and moving on after this - committing suicide? I always have to chuckle when I hear people say what you said (and I mean absolutely NO harm or spite to you, as I know your intentions are very kind) because honestly, do I have a choice? The only other option to not forging ahead with the pain is to completely take myself out of it …..but I have two kids to think about and I’d never ever do that to my kids, especially after what they’ve already been through. So it’s not really about being strong at all. It’s about having no other option but to endure…😔

      @buggy627 2 роки тому +2

@@kimberlybellefontaine1215 wow you do not give yourself enough credit at all. The other option would have been to STAY! Because that is the easier one, but you chose YOU. That is the definition of strength. I hope one day you can see that too

@@buggy627 well …..HE was the one who actually filed, not me. Even though he was the abuser in the marriage, once he figured out I was onto him and wasn’t quietly accepting his treatment any longer, he gave up on the marriage himself, and since he was the one who made the money (I’d given up job/career to have & raise our family, as his job entitled extensive travel & we needed someone always at home..), he was in control of exactly when he wanted to file ….and he intentionally waited until my son was graduating from high school and heading to college (he filed literally the week of my son’s high school graduation) so that he’d only have to pay child support for one child still in high school. He was very calculated in his moves, and it became quite apparent that he’d been carefully planning this for awhile. He always had to be the one fully in control of literally everything …and this was no exception. So HE filed, not me. If I’d pleaded with him, would he have re-considered? Possibly. But I was long past that. And even though the marriage was over and I knew I could never go back to it, the thought of legally (and emotionally, etc) ending it was still a very scary thought. I’d just been married for more than two decades, I hadn’t held a job in almost as long, and I was completely naive about the whole divorce process. I had no idea what kind of financial position I’d be left in. HE had been divorced before. This was his 2nd marriage/2nd divorce. It was my first, and it was rough. He moved 2000 miles away the day it was finalized (and moved in with a girlfriend) as if he were a free single man with absolutely no ties or responsibilities to anyone at all other than himself …..obviously forgetting about his two kids who lived here with me. That right there spoke volumes to me - not only the serious girlfriend who just suddenly appeared in the picture but also how he just so easily left his own kids behind in his dust. There is no way in this world I’d have been able to do that, to just abandon my kids and move 2000 miles away from them. Absolutely no f***ing way. After that, I couldn’t even respect him as a parenting partner. He “moved on,” he fractured the family, and he shattered my kids’ hearts. I can forgive him for what he did to me, for all the pain and heartache and wasted years he caused me, but breaking my kids’ hearts and taking away their dad? I just can’t seem to forgive him for that ..and if I’m being completely honest, I doubt I ever will.

I am married too and so unhappy. It's so stressful being with him. He's always critisizing me, complaining about everything, very selfish. He takes no responsibility for himself and aways puts everything back on me as if I am the only reason we have problems. I feel he attempts to gaslight me, but I don't fall for it which is why we fight all the time. I have told him I don't love him and he just says "yes, you do." Like he's going to trick me into believing I love him when I don't. I love that you say you feel happier and lighter. I want to feel that too. When he leaves the house to go out, I feel a sense of peace and wellbeing. When he returns, feels like a dark cloud over my head. I haven't been strong enough to take leap and move out though. I really hope to get there soon. Can you explain why it was so hard being with your husband and why now you feel "happier, lighter, etc.?" Anything to help me through my journey would be awesome.

I have lived most of this year away from my husband (my choice), but have been back living with him while tending to some repairs and updates to a condo I plan to move into soon by myself. We have not even begun the divorce process, but I think it's in both our interests. Hi Angie great video! I like that you talked about diet and exercise. During the week I try to eat as healthy as possible. I stay low carbs and absolutely no added sugars during the week. I am slowly cutting out sodas as that is my goal. During the weekend is my cheat time. I will have one soda on Saturday and one on Sunday. This is down from sodas twice a day, one for lunch and one for dinner. I am drinking more water which has helped me feel better. I do work out 7 days a week, and there are two days where my workouts are light. On Wednesdays I will just have one yoga work out usually and then a walk during my lunch at work. I do not work out hard but I do try to work out at least one hour a day incorporating everything from stretching, yoga, abs, and cardio. As I get older I feel like this is much better for me. Hi, I watch you from France and here women wouldn't dare asking you private questions. You don't have to justify yourself. You are a wonderful person and you private life is none of the viewers ' business. Thank you so much for all your work for us, for the positive feelings that you share with us !

God Bless you Angie -the same thing happened to me after a 25 year marriage. The hardest part was protecting my children -it’s just as hard on older children too ! Your perspective is healthy and soon you will gain the knowledge that things in life happen for the betterment of us .
I’ve watched you for years -thank you for sharing yourself with us .

You are such an inspiration, Angie! I would like to see a video on how do you motivate yourself to do things, work, exercise, etc. What do you do to stay calm and maintain a positive attitude? Do you practice meditation? What do you do for mental health? How do you do when you see negative comments?

Had to get 2-3 cavities filled every year (9 after skipping the dentist during recession). Had terrible teeth and so did my mom. Stopped added sugar (but not the fruits) to loose weight. 7 years later still ZERO cavities ever since!!!

    Hi Angie,
❤elanie here, while I have enjoyed, learned, and had so much fun watching you the last 6 years, it was today's video that just drove all things Angie home for me. Thank you so much 4sharing ur personal life with us especially when sharing that you did in fact go through a divorce. I have two very important things to say and share. First, I love and appreciate how elegantly and classy and with such real heartfelt sentiment you spoke about ur relationship, without bashing anyone.
Second, im 66 a retired Esthetician Beauty College School Principal from Hawaii. I was a single mom of three sons for 15 years without a significant other. Yes, I did it my way with a bit of help, just enough,
The point is my children and career took center stage, after all was said and done cane the elderly care of my two parents for 4 years, I moved away from Hawaii, my children and 7 grandchildren to care for my folks until they passed, I stayed with them both for 4 years in Florida, dad first, mom 2 yrs later.
In that time, I re- met an old family friend I met when I was 12 and he was 15..We both had lives, wives, husband's. Kids and grands that took the youthful part of our lives...that was 4 years ago..we married Angie, much to my surprise, I believed I was done with romance, and marriage, I was perfectly content and happy as I was, I wasn't looking and either was he..but God seem to have other plans for us both. My kids and grands are still in Hawaii, and at 62 I began a new chapter of my life, and for a first a ficus on my skin, my health, my life and a partner who gets and gives me that freedom. 2020
Granted has been the most difficult but im happy I have the man I was more better, more prepared, and very much more deserving of going through such a tough time in History. Be free, love Angie, as we all do and just let life show u what it has in store. Take care and God Bless u always Angie. I have a feeling u will never see this, ur a busy Girl, and Its ok, I needed to write it for me as much as you..ur fan, and follower
    ❤elanie

Eight years ago, I went through a divorce I didn't expect or want after twenty years of marriage. I'm 53 now and have remained single. Anyone who's been through a divorce knows why it's second after death of a spouse on the stress scale. Sending you virtual hugs as you navigate through the process and adjust to your new normal. You are so gracious in sharing your personal life and anyone can understand why you keep your family out of the limelight. Also, I do consider you a virtual friend, a very smart friend with helpful information! Thank you for all you do! 💐💕

Angie I always look forward to your videos! A few years ago when I turned 50 I was trying to find make up tutorials and information on Botox and fillers, etc. -and of course all I could find pretty much was the young makeup gurus, and I felt so old. Then I found one of your videos and I posted a comment about hitting the 1/2 century mark. You were kind enough to comment to me that being on the other side of 50 was not that bad! 😃 I want to thank you for all the time and great info you put into your videos. They are fun, informative and honest. But I would also like to add that while I was curious about your wedding ring, I knew it really was none of my business. But I think that after watching your videos some of us think of you as somewhat of a friend, and someone who can not only relate to us about our struggles with aging, but with life in general. It’s human to be curious, but important to respect privacy. And on a lighter note I would like to add that I was just watching your video on my 70” tv, and mentioned your age to my hubby. He thinks you are beautiful (so do I) and said he thought you were in your early 40’s! Again, thanks for your great videos!

I too got divorced at 57, now at 61 I look better, am happier than ever and dating with more self awareness than before. Sending love and well wishes for you in every aspect of your life! 😊

Angie thank you for sharing with us, especially your private life part. I myself have been divorced and I know it is a difficult process but after dealing with pain, sadness and uncertainty my life became better and I accepted that time of my life as a party of my journey. I have been watching your videos for few years now and always enjoyed your content. I was in my early 40’s when I discovered your channel and follow a lot of your routines and recommendations. For me personally you are my role model, you carry yourself with poise, grace, and always so respectful. I love your humor and many moments in your videos made me laugh! For me your videos are perfect and they way you approach viewers just makes me appreciate everything you do for us! Stay strong, healthy and beautiful! 😀❤️

My first thought when you started sharing about your personal life was bless your heart! I was diagnosed with a major health issue at the start of the pandemic, so I know how tough it is to not have all of your support group by your side when you are going through a major life change. I started on my skincare journey about a year ago and you were one of the first I followed. I’m 10 years behind you so seeing your perspective and the info you’ve shared has really helped me navigate it all! Although I follow a few skincare UA-camrs now I still enjoy your videos the most. I’ve even gotten a few wardrobe pieces you’ve shown (and felt like your twin haha).
