Angie, I appreciate your candid thoughts and research backed responses. In my book, you “influence” through education, rather than through a desire to influence people to “buy! buy! buy!”. Thank you! I’m so happy that you’re back twice a week, doing what you do best!🌺

Hi Angie! Happy New Year! I love watching your videos and I follow a lot of your advice. You put a lot of good information on the products you like and I love the research also that you put into the products. I was revisiting your topics and saw this one hoping you may have touched on the subject of Milia. I’m having some issues with it and eliminating some products that the companies themselves have changed or something I may have changed using in my cleansing routine or make-up. Do you happen to have talked about this subject before and if so, can you please tell me where I can find this on your channel? I would very much appreciate it. Thank you!!

I am 76 years old and have been following your skin care for 5 years. This routine has really helped my skin , I don’t have the gray look that a lot of older women have. When I went to dentist last week she made a remark about retirement and how did I like it. Told her I loved it ,but have been retired for a number of years, she ask how old I was ,told her 76 she said I looked much younger then that, more her age. I loved it! Your skincare works.

I am so glad you addressed the “clean” labeling. I have terrible allergies and sensitive skin. Products containing these so called “clean” ingredients can be a terrible choice for me and cause uncomfortable reactions. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️ They may work in an excellent manner for another person. I always read the label and steer clear of to many plant based, natural additives because they inevitably cause problems. Thank you for addressing this issue Angie. As always, you keep us informed and educated. Another great video. I always enjoying spending time on your channel. 😊💗

**CORRECTIONs** I'm so sorry, I missed the prostaglandin analog ingredient in GrandeLash. It IS in there so it's similar to RevitaLash.
Also Curology doesn't offer both the dark spot formula and the custom (tretinoin) formula simultaneously. Only Agency does that. And you don't need a separate email address to switch from Curology to Agency any more. Just let your Curology provider know and they'll switch you over!

Hi I am an MD with a life long interest in some of these topics. First I prefer to use the word "compound" instead of "chemical" - same reasons as yours;; Second how ingredients are sourced and processed can be as important as the recipe. As we all know in cooking two cooks can have the same set of ingredients and one cook say overheats the recipe (done faster) while the other cooks as directed.
Even with the best of intentions, "cooks" can fail to notice how the "overheating" causes other compounds to appear - one of which is / might be a nasty bad actor. Time is money. A company exists to make a profit. The pressure even on the most decent ethical people can be enormous. How do we as consumers find out about this new compound if it's an unanticipated result of the "overheating"? First there is no requirement to add it to the list since it was not actually introduced by the company. So we have to wait until enough people are harmed or worse to qualify for some kind of "class action" either in the courts or before regulatory bodies - actions the company HAS TO fight because of course they understandably fear loss of business......
This is why your common sense systematic approach to your testing is so appreciated by people like me (a consumer too) and the rest of us - along with your careful attention to the science and above all, your honesty about the absence of good data. From the way you set up your experiments / trials to the way you discuss your findings - its clear you know that we can be more certain about some results than others - first and second that too offen there is no scientific data only anecdotal data. Don't get me wrong, first thing I want to know about is how this skincare etc worked for other people. The stories are the START of research but what with social media etc you would swear that the stories of the "influencers" are the last word in science! Ethical people like you always disclose sponsorship etc. Listening to "influencers" with their youthful enthusiasm, charm and good looks its easy to forget they might be more biased than even they realize.
There is a good thing we could do in the US. We could do what the Europeans do: require the companies to prove the safety of each new compound they wish to bring to market in their product(s) - including those compounds that result from their special techniques etc - BEFORE they go to market. The EU puts consumer safety first. Here in the US just think of the suffering - the thousands and thousands often millions of people of have to be injured or worse to justify the mere removal of a compound and its offending product from market. Sure looks to me like we put the right to make a profit (absolutely legit) TOO FAR ahead of consumer safety. This of course is a personal opinion and individual cases taken separately and in context show us different sides of these issues. Looking at toxicology data we see another picture: the chemicals in makeup allowed in the US v the EU can be a frightening experience.
I love your combination of the careful, rational and scientific on the one hand, and the fun we can have exploring ways to look and feel better as we age - safely.......Thanks for the hard work.....AHegarty MD

I bought the omnilux after your video last week, and I have melasma. Normally, if I go outside on a sunny day, with a very high spf on and no other protection, my Melasma will be almost glowing by the time I come back inside. No amount of sunscreen or type of sunscreen completely works. I'm also allergic to some chemical sunscreens. I tried the omnilux 2 days ago and had no glowing. It doesn't seem to worsen it, from what i saw. But i will continue to track it. What I typically do is wear an spf rated, large, floppy, brim hat in addition to my sunscreen. I keep that hat with me all of the time. I have extras in my car and other places just in case. If I don't have sunscreen or can't reapply it, the hat is great protection. Make sure to get a hat that has a brim that, when pulled down, reaches your jaw line or goes past it. I can't tell you how many times I've been out at dusk an the sun is at the horizon and is not overhead. So you need something that will block the sides of your face, too.

I have had pretty bad melasma for almost my entire adult life. I have struggled over the years to get it under control. I’ve honestly found that hydroquinone and chemical exfoliation work the best for me. BUT what I wanted to share is that I also have the omnilux contour red led light mask and can say 100% that it does not cause my melasma to flare up. Just wanted to let other ladies to know my experience. 😄

Angie, I'm so glad you addressed "clean" beauty because some of the comments made by people on UA-cam and their followes about skincare products are so absurd. Especially for prevention of aging. Love that your pup wants to be with mama & is video-bombing. My dogs always want to be next to me. I developed issues from Latisse (& am unable to tolerate eye creams or serums) after turning 50. (❤ thr “Say it with me Sistah-s, Menopause!!”😂)I used Latisse for years in my 40s without issue and then went in to menopause at 50 so the timing fits. My mom developed same issues around that age. Maybe runs in family or just due to menopause but Latisse burns my eyes now. I finally stopped worrying about my eyelash length as I have far bigger issues with chronic pain so dealing with burning, itchy dry eyes is not worth long eyelashes and until I get an upper bleph, I don’t wear mascara anymore as it just gets all over my upper eyelids. 😮
Every Ophthalmologist and derm I’ve spoken to (including my prescriber) all warn me to be careful not to put Tretinoin above my orbital bone; I believe the drug manufacturer does too so given this, I don’t know why any anyone would risk putting it under their eyes or above the orbital bone. (Well, I do know…hope for less eye wrinkles over the irritation risk it poses to thin under eye skin, even aside from meiboian gland risks which I do believe in as I know people it’s happened to.) Putting it on under eye reminds me of my mom wearing baby oil in 70’s before suntanning or me insisting on going in tanning beds in the 80s despite the dermatologists’ warnings. I found every bit of medical info I could to try to dispute my derm’s warnings. I was 17; I wasn’t thinking about aging & wasn’t concerned with skin cancer; I was a kid who wanted a year round tan before self tanner was available. I’m lucky I didn’t end up with terrible wrinkles but I did have to have a cancerous mole removed after 30 min in a tanning bed 4x/Wk for a few years. Live and learn, right? Id never do that now! I definitely try to follow manufacturers & my doctor’s instruction’s but I’m getting pretty tired of my under eye wrinkles so I may take a risk, cave to the “devil on my shoulder”, apply to under eyes see what happens!🤞 I still have to nag my 80 yr old mom about wearing SPF; she really never has (and it shows) and thinks I’m nuts wearing SPF indoors. 🤦‍♀️🙄 She has super thin skin as a result of all that sun damage; her arm, hand & leg skin cuts on anything. She hates it but I’m the nut for wearing SPF indoors while on Tretinoin? 😂Older isn’t always wiser…

    Angie 🧡
Clean Beauty , Korean Beauty and Medical Grade skin care are all Marketing terms created by the Beauty industry. People need to be mindful of this.
When your skin peels many times it is simply that your skin is not ready for the Vitamin A or the actives. We do all of our damage by the age of 20 to 22, this is actually written in Journal Of Medicine. When you start to use an active before allowing your skin to be prepared for it you will have issues. Because of the damage we do to our skin, before our early 20s we get a callous layer or a thickness, just like the heels of our feet. This is the skin protecting itself from all of the damage we have done, bad products, bad sunscreen, to much sun or foundation and concealer. When we help the skin to get rid of that callous layer, this is key to allowing actives to work properly. For almost 4 decades I have taught my clients to exfoliate gently first, to remove old tissue and callous prior to washing and feeding the skin.
I am 56 and have never touched my face with a needle or procedure and I practice what I preach. What I teach as a Holistic Master Esthetician of almost 4 decades, works time and time again. The skin is a highly suggestive organ and it’s very easy to have beautiful skin at any age!! Come and look at my Before & Afters!
Thank you for always allowing me to comment Angie. Blessings 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa

Your channel is the absolute best, the platinum star of the bunch for women from 30-100. It is so wonderful to see the channel devoted to skin care and beauty that goes beyond make up . I have so much makeup that another show telling me about the next greatest eyeshadow palette turns me off. After all just how many of the same eyeshadows can I have. I realize there are younger people just starting out that might not have what I have but those are better suited to a younger You tubers .I’m 74 and have been a beauty and make up junkie since I was 5 or 6 and watched my mother sit at her dressing table putting her makeup on and applying her little fake Marilyn Monroe beauty mark. With that being, said I appreciate your channel because it goes beyond make up and it helps us find a way to make our skin or hair etc. perform better. After all you can’t put makeup on less that good ski. and expect it to look great.Your comprehensive scientific approach given in a way that even someone nonscientific like myself can understand the benefits and or detriment to some product that we might be considering. Hi Angie
My question to you is if you are not able to afford a village?? I would say that most of us are not able to afford the Agency, Vitamin C, Coenzyme Q10, and lactic acid. You may be able to afford these, but I have had a couple of procedures such as the erbium yag laser and the most recently the halo sciton laser combined with broadband light treatment. Hands down, the procedures were more effective. I feel like using neutrogena gentle skin cleanser and Maelove Vitamin C serum with Cerave pm moisturizer both in the morning and at night.

Your point on dry eyes is spot on. I am a lifelong contact lens wearer, and was almost stopped due to irritation in my early 50s, until I started HRT. Obviously, the HRT was to treat other issues, but I noticed very quickly that my dry eye issues also just magically resolved. I talked to both my gyn and my ophthalmologist later, and they both independently confirmed that dry eyes can be directly related to normal hormonal changes in menopause. I just turned 60 and have had no further issues with dry eye since HRT. I really appreciate your very practical approach to all these issues!

Hi Angie. I guess I was lucky. I started Retin-A in my 20s when my skin was an oil slick. I just turned 63, with super dry skin, but luckily, no flaking. Thanks to you, I incorporated the Lactic acid 10% from The Ordinary, and that seems to keep my skin in check.
Thank you for getting me on the Timeless 3 years ago. Vitamin C is key. Love the Coq-10.

Love this! I’m 52 and I have dry eye and I’ve had it for about 10 years, long before I started using tretinoin. I also went through menopause in my 40’s. And many many things with my health changed because of menopause I’m assuming eye dryness is one of them. I have also used different brands of lash growth serums in the last 10 years and that’s when I did notice eye irritation but it’s different than dry eye. I’m currently using the new obagi lash growth serum, however because of irritation I use every other night but I also include eye moisturizing drops every night. Oh the things we do for beauty 😉

Angie the Wondercloth Girl! I love this thing!! 💜I had to step back from my tretinoin to good old adapalene due to chronic flaking that has not resolved, even with just a 1x/wk application. The cloth takes care of removing flakes gently but thoroughly with just a little water. It's kind of a little miracle, or wonder, if you will, ha. For over a year I've been following your routine for the Timeless serums, Ordinary LA (about twice/wk) and Cereve PM moisturizer and my skin has never looked better. I do believe I may be missing the L-ascorbic acid though as I don't see it as an ingredient on any of my 4 bottles. I'll go back and check your product list. Today's vid is cram-packed w/ lots of info so I'll go in for Round #2 with pen and paper. Thanks for all your valuable input. It's making a difference.

Two Tretinoin tips: 1) Try applying moisturizer before Tretinoin. 2) Don't "slug" over Tretinoin. It may accelerate the Tretinoin because the "slug" serves to lock in everything beneath it including moisture & treatment ingredients.

Yes! This is the only way I can use Tretinoin on my more sensitive skin. Recently I started putting on a hyaluronic acid serum immediately after cleansing and then the moisturizer over top. After 10-15 minutes, I apply the Tretinoin. I think the HA serum helps to make my skin look a little more plump in the morning, so I'll keep using it. P.S. Big hug to you for being a compassionate nurse. ♥

I tried Agency for six months and it temporarily ruined up my skin. I have combination skin and Agency completely dried out my skin and caused major flaking around my nose and upper lip area. In January I got Covid which caused me to have to blow my nose a lot. Because of the dryness that Agency caused me to have around my nose and upper lip area, the skin around my nose became very raw and formed lesions. When the lesions developed, I immediately quit using Agency. It is now the third week of April and although mostly healed, I am still dealing with healing in the nose area. I began using your (Angie) recommendations of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost face wash and Cera Ve moisturizer which helped and now I'm using multiple hydrating products from Beauty Pie. So far these products are working for me. Beware of Agency.

I started an experiment Jan. 1. Only use Careprost (like Latisse) on one eye and a natural lash serum sold by Dr Rajani on my right eye. I want to see if the lid redness and staining from years of Rx lash serums go away. So far the lashes on the 'natural' eye are a bit sparser but not that noticeable when I wear mascara. Not much difference in lid redness so far. If the difference turns out to be negligible, I may stop all lash serums and save some money.

I've got sensitive skin and have several issues with "natural" ingredients like lavender and rosemary. Known to be common irritants, it's amazing that these are promoted so heavily in "clean" skincare and makeup. As aways, I appreciate your candor in your evaluations of all things beauty.

Just an FYI, I was a Curology customer (thanks to you Angie), just tried to transfer to Agency last week, and did run into problems. Thankfully I actually read the popup box that said I was a Curology customer, and to contact my dermatologist about effecting a transfer. Then I saw your video about it, and thought, hunh, synergy. Anyway I emailed my dermatologist, she asked some questions, I got an email saying I could transfer to Agency. When I tried to sign in to Agency using my Curology email and password, it didn't recognize it as an account. So I tried to set up a new account and it said my email was already in use. So I clicked on "Forgot password", Agency sent me a link and I reset the password. Didn't need to use a new email, so hope this helps any current users of Curology who want to switch over.
