I love this song. Idk why people complain about the lyrics. If you listen to them, it talks about the paradoxes. Plus this song does give a nice change to what we are used to hearing. It almost reminds of the TWEWY soundtrack.
Someone actually mentioned the song is just foreshadowing the entire plot, and I can't unhear it. I used to just hear Phantasy Star Online synths in this song.
Worlds collide and people fade Seeking gates through timelines, we've all prayed Let's fix the past, trade it now To see smiling faces This hope, Heart of Chaos cannot take Paradoxes must break This is the path I must take My destiny may change your fate The pain my heart feels is my strength Worlds collide and people fade Seeking gates through timelines, we've all prayed Let's fix the past, trade it now To see smiling faces This hope, Heart of Chaos cannot take Paradoxes must break This is the path I must take My destiny may change your fate The pain my heart feels is my strength Worlds collide and people fade Seeking gates through timelines, we've all prayed Let's fix the past, trade it now To see smiling faces This hope, Heart of Chaos cannot take Paradoxes must break This is the path I must take My destiny may change your fate The future to come is what we make
im not talking about storytelling. im referring to how this song feels like it fits the theme of the battle itself. having a variety of music fitting in certain themes of the story is what states the type of themes and setting of the story itself.
I mind when I first heard this in the demo i was Immediately hating it because it seemed out of place in a FF but by the end of the fight I loved it! Such a great track and the soundtrack overall is so varied and fun. Love it!
Yeah during the middle of playing this boss fight I had to pause it and just listen to the song. I was hooked during the middle, and I had to stop and let it play. It's a banger to me 🔥
The lyrics is odd because it's for the FF13 game and Japanese people composed it. We knew that their English is that good. Also, it's not the typical western song with lyrics only pertaining to sex and flirting. :DDD
Plus at some point I might upload my two other spare looped and extended ones: Knight of the Goddess and Giant Impact if you want. Respond to me if you want them both. :)
@TEHbeardguy the demo (final) version of the worlds collide version is much different to this. first of all the vocals have been "radioizsed" (where the the main vocals singing the song sounds like he's speaking through a radio) and the main electric sound that plays as the beat throughout the first verse is louder.
Oh yeah, i do think that version is better, the singing comes off more like an angry abstract distorted sound and I think this backs up whats on screen better.
i understand where you come from. however, if you hear my in-game version of this song, you can't really hear the vocals that much as you're so focus in listening the instrumentals and they added a radioized effect to it.
ablondelvidal132 you're saying the song is bad? Seriously this is good, the way it has a change of pace from the usual orchestrated music. U cant just have orchestral music all the time.
Do they play this more than twice in the game? I was a bit of a loser the first time I played it and didnt do any of the side stuff.. so, I really hope they used it more... lol
i really love that song i dunno why people a k a "real fans" cames all the way trough the video and start they UEMATSU RIOT and clash other players dat like the game itself and it soundtrack
ok, let me put it another way, the words are the problem, not the instruments itself. if it was just this as an instrumental piece it would be quite perfect. The music is meant to suggest the theme strongly in an abstract manner, otherwise DIALOGUE in cutscenes does that clearer. Like am I supposedto be listening to the specific words in the music when I am battling. As I amn't as I am too busy in the drama and theme of the game itself, the words comes off more as a distraction in many respects.
Yes, this is true, but it is bad storytelling to have music that has a very literal aspect, i.e music is meant to be underlieing, the abstract of the emotions of the story, not the literal vocalisation of the story in a rap.

Worlds collide and people fade
Seeking gates through timelines, we've all prayed
Let's fix the past, trade it now
To see smiling faces
This hope, Heart of Chaos cannot take
Paradoxes must break
This is the path I must take
My destiny may change your fate
The pain my heart feels is my strength
Worlds collide and people fade
Seeking gates through timelines, we've all prayed
Let's fix the past, trade it now
To see smiling faces
This hope, Heart of Chaos cannot take
Paradoxes must break
This is the path I must take
My destiny may change your fate

this has got to be one of the best final fantasy songs ever
@770megaman i couldn't agree more, this track is just epic and it makes a great change to the normal battle music
this is very cool !
I mind when I first heard this in the demo i was Immediately hating it because it seemed out of place in a FF but by the end of the fight I loved it! Such a great track and the soundtrack overall is so varied and fun. Love it!

Honestly I like hearing music like this during boss battles in games. Although it is tough to hear during the course of that particular battle.
finnaly a looped music! thank you ;D
Thank you for the extended version and the link :D This way I won't have to keep on clicking "repeat" anymore ^^
Thank you for uploading this. :D
it's over 9000!
this song is bad ass
Great song

And I do think XIII-2 has one of the best final fantasy scores ever.
You can argue how good XIII trilogy is but XIII biggest highlights is great OST, even in FFVII remake songs made in this style are getting paised
Plus at some point I might upload my two other spare looped and extended ones: Knight of the Goddess and Giant Impact if you want. Respond to me if you want them both. :)
Definetly it can be used in more battles during the game ;)...very good

@Manciuin86 it fight in well with atlas because it talks about time and paradoxs and stuff

Feel free to like, favourite and download the 15min long version of this.
it plays in a number of boss fights
wooord hahah i agree 100%
When I first heard this, I thought Devil May Cry 3. Anyone else get that reaction? lol
No, but if you want to hear it more, get the gate seal for that area and replay it :P
XD very true indeed
@TEHbeardguy im just saying what it sounds like compared to the in-game version. try listening it yourself.

Is there a version of this song without the lyrics?
Orchestral beats all.
How do people not like this song?Jesus some people will moan about ANYTHING
PS3 FTW :D

that was long ago. -_-
The only thing i don't like about this theme is the fact that it is only used 2
can we reach 1000 views?
first 35 seconds sounds like it was ripped straight out of Tekken.
lol this is my favorite comment ever XD
great ost, but i don't like in a battle maybe...
Awesome until 00:45 comes -.-
This game seems to have a lot of songs with good beats, but really odd lyrics.
Yes, this is true, but it is bad storytelling to have music that has a very literal aspect, i.e music is meant to be underlieing, the abstract of the emotions of the story, not the literal vocalisation of the story in a rap.
This hybrid of Drum and bass and Rap music sounds like turd. i love the orchestrated battle theme of the original FFXIII.
So... J-Rap is a thing?
Yup. I guess not a lot of people in the west have heard of jrap but this isn't jrap
+Alexander Ando one thing is for sure their Rap is a hell of a lot better than ours.
Yes but I'm pretty sure the guy rapping is American.
In a way, I wish they had less music with vocals in them.. really not my kind of thing. It gets old pretty fast because of the lyrics I think.
I actually really freaking adore XIII-2's OST.
Tastes, I guess :P
sweetangel0467 this song was played in my first boss battle #finalfantadyxiii2 #stagger
Sweetangel0467 I love this song in lightning returns
sweetangel0467 wroooong
Too bad Facebook Timeline is 1 big paradox...
And plague the entire game of this crap.
agree with john, the vocals suck
“This is the patch I MUST TAKE.” 🫵
