I watched this film the day it came out in cinema, best thing my Grandad ever made me do, it’s in my top 5 favourite films. This edit is brilliant, it really captures their friendship

the director confirmed that’s what he intended! he said one of the writers (who happens to be gay) read geoffrey’s poetry and concluded he was definitely gay, but because they didn’t have any evidence and it’s a historical movie, they couldn’t make it explicit so they just hinted at it, so it’s kind of open (just like it is in real life, because we can’t really know)
Evil cannot create, only corrupt. It is common for a homosexual to see homosexualities everywhere. Luckily Tolkien did not live to see that misrepresentation.

@@nairalleo4100 My approach suggested that Tolkien would not have liked to see how cultural degeneration stained his friend's name only to adjust it to current propaganda standards. The production was more concerned with trying to spread a rumor of homosexual crush than in representing the strong Christian influence in Tolkien's life so as not to bother the new audiences.

I can't skip this video despite the small minutes of the video, but I love it so much and how this movie sheds light on the beauty of friendship and our concept of it, the song by the way makes me cry or I want to cry a lot, Tolkien and his ilk are great 😞♥️♥️👌
