I love the fact that Greg has no clue regarding any of the sports they cover but he sure knows how to use those feminine products.
At least Greg Stink knows about their sponsors' product, because in real life, we have NFL commentators who keeps calling their sponsor's product, the Microsoft Surface, an "iPad."
That's my favorite part of these recurring bits. It's a completely consistent thing about his character that you can easily miss the first time around.

Yep. Will Forte remains one of my all-time favourite SNL cast members. This ere of SNL was just immensely watchable and consistently hilarious!

It is amazing how without him the skit would just float away.
As someone who listened to a lot of baseball on radio as a kid, hearing an announcer clean up their partner's mistakes by fumbling into an awkward sponsor read is dead on.
Jason Sudeikis is such an underrated comedic talent, dude’s a master. But of course back then all of them were.

Really hadn't watched SNL since the 70s and 80s much. I have been finding all this hilarious stuff on UA-cam. Didn't know what I was missing. ESPN classics, the Californians, all kinds of great stuff I was missing.

Look the bottom line is that it is the most underrated cast that show ever had. They were seriously great and nobody realized it until they were gone
Agreed completely! This cast was incredibly talented!! I can't remember whether or not Bill Hader was part of this era but I'm fairly sure he was. Also I think this era also included Amy Poehler and Tina Fey ...although they could've been there a year or two before this cast - I can't remember. Will Forte was one of the greatest cast members ever in my estimation.
In fact, a lot of people complained about the cast, like they do with every generation of SNL casts

Apparently Will F and Jason S are super close and frequently go to Karaoke together. Imagine being in a room with those two singing their hearts out and have cocktails. How fun would that be? I am betting...very fun.
The chemistry between these two in these sketches are fantastic

You have to appreciate that they followed the
Exact same script every time. One person named after a location, one with a nickname, Greg not understanding the sport or what Ted Lasso is asking and then Greg talking about the product instead of the sport.
I love the formula. Kristen Wiig as the champion, with a city for a last name. Whatever female guest host they have, the contender with a crazy nickname. A feminine product as the sponsor. This formula does not get old.
The whole collection of these classics are great!

I've been binge watching these. Jason and Will have the best on screen chemistry I've ever seen in commentators. Now if I could just remember the damn vagina jokes.
