if the bill does pass, we Australians will delete our social media accounts en protest to say we don't want our data in one place. WE don't want to be controlled, WE don't want to be censored. That under 16 bill is not only a DIGITAL ID Bill in disguise, it's also a censorship bill too.
the young ones are so savvy they will get VPN's and other ways to get around it, the older ones will have to log in to use social media, its still the MAD bill in another form
Unfortunately you are missing the point. Do some more research on how far a Digital ID can take them. Read 1984, etc. It is not the same as the MAD Bill. That was a red herring, bait and switch to keep us off the boil. Digital ID has far reaching effects for all of us over 16!
It seems my replies are being banned but I'll have another go. This comment misses the big point. The MAD bill is already defeated and the U16 Ban is far more dangerous to us. Do more research about how it can affect you and send the emails please. It is your way to have your say. otherwise be trodden on.
Thank you for your work in getting this process organised for us. It was very easy to send off the email as you and FSU have taken all the hard work out for us. This is most appreciated and makes me feel like I am contributing to have my say on this terrible issue.
Some more points from my letter that you might like to consider. This bill also undermines young people opportunity to express their views publicly and have a voice in decisions that affect them. See below the relevant UN rights of a child articles that are contradictory by the bill. Article 12 Children have the right to say what they think should happen when adults are making decisions that affect them and to have their opinions taken into account. Children should not suffer discrimination (Article 2). Children have the right to have their views taken into account in matters that affect them (Article 12). Article 2 - State parties must ensure all rights apply to children regardless of their age race, religion, gender, wealth or bibirth place. Article 4 - Governments must make these rights available to all children. Article 5 - Governments and parents must ensure children are equipped with the knowledge to understand their rights. Article 6 - All children have the right to a life of fullness. Article 12 - Children have the right to their opinion and can say what they think should happen. Article 13 - Children have the right to freedom of expression and can seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds. Article 14 - Governments should respect the right of children to have freedom of thought, conscience and religion. Article 16 - Children have the right to their privacy. Article 17 - Governments should ensure children have access to information and material from a diversity of national and international sources, especially those aimed at the promotion of his or her social, spiritual and moral well-being and health. Article 18 - Parents (not government) have a responsibility for bringing up their child and should always consider what is best. Article 31 - All children have the right to rest and leisure, and to engage in play and recreational activities. They can participate fully in cultural life and the arts. The educational value of social media is being thrown out with the colloquial bath water. UA-cam, rumble, Facebook et.al. deserve fair credit (along with this condemnation) for the positive effects that they have had on educating young people over almost 2 decades. Even if this bill is passed, it will be ineffective in achieveing the governments goals. Inappropriate content on the internet will remain and children will access it. It is up to us to work toward a more media literate and critical generation of experienced social media users. This ban will not achieve that, in fact, i believe it will impede the media literacy and critical thinking skills of the next generation of Australia's young people, our future leaders.
Well done JasonStockley, This is a very well compiled intelligent submission. I certainly hope you are in the profession of law, or Australia is missing out on your thoughtful and articulate contribution! However remember Friend, the United Nations Laws, including that absorbed under our domestic laws still operate as mere "privileges" and are totalitarian laws based on civil law jurisdictions, so the government when they are working under these UN laws can ignore them and displace their operation for any reason at any time in their absolute discretion. You may be interested in an argument based on our Australian Constitution above. Well done Jason.
There is a video of Green's Senator David Shobridge asking serious questions about age verification, and he makes the point that age verification will be for EVERYONE to access the internet ... I was surprised the Greens appear to be against that Bill ...
Greens ae Grass roots although they Murdoch press has done a great job on them convincing Australia they are not fighting for the People, in my books they are the genuine party fighting hard for the people, what Labor has put up for affordabel housing is a bonus for the Investors those houses wont be affordable, read the actual bill line by line you'll the people are being stooged. The Federal government cannot run out of money because the Federal government creates the money it spends, another reason why would they invest AU$10billion into a futures fund, when it creates the AU$ through Legislation, they are the LAWMAKERS.
Grab a tasty beverage, and sit down at your computer, it takes less than an hr/2 beers to find and email your local rep, your future you and children will thank you for what your about to do.
It was the blue teams baby and just a couple of weeks ago on various media channels TWO Senior LNP Senators gave conflicting messages, Bridget McKenzie said they would oppose it, and Paterson said they would 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 to the proposed legislation that instead labels people who spread misinformation as 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬.”, basically accusing Australians of being “treasonous” for telling the truth, they are all snakes and ALL the majors want it.

My original reply is being banned from what I can see but anyway here is a another try with less information and facts (how ironic) - The statement above is incorrect. It has been withdrawn as per the minister.
@TheSoundofSilence343 it's been withdrawn for now. They will try to reintroduce, hence why I said it's on hold. Both sides of politics want it to happen.
@@adunbar Of course there is always a chance it will resurface later on down the track especially when the instructions are coming from the overlords (W E F). That is why voting in the next election requires some intelligent thought and careful planning of how preferences will add up.
@@TheSoundofSilence343 In regards to voting, I know it requires thought. The biggest problem is people need to vote for minor parties like, one nation, UAP peoples first etc. The issue is they don't have enough to hold power, they need to create a third "coalition". I have actually put that to one nation and UAP but no reply. Before you feel the need to try to correct me again, I said third "coalition" because Labor and greens work together. They put on a public show sometimes thag they're fighting but they work together.

The most important section of the current Digital ID Bill is in Section 74 - Creating and using a Digital ID is voluntary. Creating and using a digital ID is voluntary (1) A participating relying party must not, as a condition of providing a service or access to a service, require a an individual to create or use a Digital ID. They would also need to change this legislation too if they want to bring in Age Verification Laws, I wonder what changes/amendments will be tabled this week alongside the Age Verification Bill.
They have already drafted the amendments for the later stage of the implementation to make it a condition of service for any access to social media for all Australians. It is being done through the back door. They only need to get one of these Acts up and then they plan to distract everyone wait a while and pass the supplementary parts in amendments to the primary Act. This is how they work. Been seeing it for over 35 years. Just like the vaccines, right - "voluntary" until they sack you from your job, you lose your house and end up living in a tent.
I remember years ago learning that every single computer & laptop has an IP address. I'm not sure but does this include any device that sends a message through the internet including text messages. If that is the case, do messages just stay on the software or can it go on the hardware (eg motherboard) ? If a bully sends a message through email or social media to another person & then deletes it after the receiver opens it - is it still on the receivers devices including the ip address of the sender (most likely in the programming)? I know this is alot of ifs but can these ip addresses be triangulated to find the bully because they are using an internet device to possibly cause harm. Isn't that a crime on the law books somewhere?
I think the simplest way to look at all this is to know that nothing is deleted. It may appear so, but there's always a record of it in your systems if someone who knows what they're doing goes digging.
Labour has only shelved the M/D Bill. They will reword and reintroduce it if re-elected. It took me 4 beers. But I am a slow typer.
The misinformation bill return in another form if you vote Labor back in.
Or if the Libs get in, we need one national the control the senate.

Hopefully some of the senators for the digi-ID say no.

Thanks for the list. Emails going off tomorrow.
