Massive track from 1981, when this Uk band Freeez hit us with this biggie produced by John Rocca on the Beggrs Banquet punk rock labelwith Ingrid Mansfield Allman
That brsutiful summer of 1980, 81?, this was my feelgood tune of the year, still sounds fab and Ingrid is lovely down to earth, would loved to have heard more of her as a solo artist, but at the time all top class artists we probably never got to hear were being not played, the Synth pop era,,,, Thank god for guitars
Their other famous song, I.O.U., is in a completely different style: futuristic electro-synth pop, produced by Arthur Baker from New York City. Released in June 1983. I love both songs even though they're so different.
@@ajs41!! Exactly!! (I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BOTH BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING AND HAPPY MEMORY PROVOKING SONGS WITH ALL MY HEART!!!!!!!!) 🎶🥰🎶🥰🎶 I had no idea but was (COMPLETELY SHOCKED) and (SO HAPPY) after only recently discovering in very early 2020 that Southern Freeez did IOU as well too which is a song (I’VE LOVED SINCE I WAS 6 NEARLY 7 YEARS OLD WAY BACK IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS IN THE SUMMER OF JUNE 1983!!!!!!!!)🌞😍🥰 Freeez is a song I only remember hearing what I thought was maybe the first time only in recent years back in 2015 and (INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SONG WHEN I HEARD OR WAS REMINDED ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF THE MELODY WHICH INCLUDES THE BEAUTIFUL PLAYING OF THE DREAMY SOUNDING SYNTHS) although I most likely did hear it way, way back in (THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF 1980) at 3 and 4 years old but completely forgot about this (BLESSING) of a song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🌞♥️🥰
The nightclub in London where the jazz funk crowd were usually to be found was the Royalty in Southgate. Just watched a 1980 documentary about it presented by Danny Baker.
This still is Amazing 42 years on! 1981 I think, that amazing warm summer and this was just that 'Feel good, timeless track ", Ingrid Mansfield Oldman on vocals, the album wasn't ready for it's to be Acid jazz audience some 10 years on, if this album was dropped when the likes of Brand New Heavies, Incognito, *Jamuroquai ( * early material) were riding high, then this album would be a different story,, Check out 'Flying High* from the same album... Great upload, thx

Forevermore a Brit Funk Classic. ❤
This song changed for ever the way brits see disco funk as a major (re)creative genre. I fell immediatly in love with.
Such an underrated band/song. Just discovered them last year.

Freeeze was a good name for a UK band explains the UK climate perfectly in between heatwaves but great music like this always warms you up.
The song has a summery feel to it but they released it at the of January which was an interesting move.

A wonderful example of early Brit Funk.
Very similar to the sound that Level 42 was working on at the same time.

we did and it wasn't, but we tried :)
Timeless classic from my era, but I think if someone can eliminate the incessant clapping, it would more accessible to today's ears.
