Back to the heady days of when the Brit-Funk movement ruled. Thank god its getting the respect its finally due some 40 years later! Freeeze were one of the best bands of their time. Messrs Rocca, Stennett, Maas, Morgan, Sullivan and not forgetting Ingrid Mansfield, take a well deserved bow
Uk jazz funk has never got the attention it deserved. Short lived but an amazing time and some brilliant musicians. Used to go to the long gone production village in cricklewood to see morrissey Mullen
absolutely fantastic ,I was ten at the time this master piece was released music has gone down hill ,the musicianship is of the scale ,here ,pure talent and supreme creativity ,no props no computers .no gimmicks just pure unadulterated talent its absolutely correct that ukjazz funk never got the props it richly deserved and you wonder about the reasons behind it
@@MW-L.o.S-Essex Thank you for your reply. I was in the Philippines doing some 'research' and the wonderful Ladies there told me that Mariposa translated to Butterfly in English. Pertaining to the Female and not the Male. Needless to say, I love the Philippines and all that saiil in her.

I had no idea that Freeez did an Old Grey Whistle set!! This is an honour, …for the BBC.

This is one of coolest videos I've ever seen. I periodically search for it just to confirm its brilliance.
Always my favourite track on the album. Played it to death every weekend at the time.
So pleased to see this again... Brit Funk At It's Best 🙂❤️
The best as always....
So remember watching this back in the day....brit funk at its 👌 best!

You are so so right Chris
No need to wonder,it was a conspiracy between Warner Bros, Kennedy Brothers and the Gracchus brothers
Notice the Bossa Nova influence in those keys (mainly)... Nice
Terrific performance. If the Jazz Crusaders could have heard this ,Messrs Felder and Sample would be giving a whooping thumbs up
I followed Freeze, never saw them live,Oh how missed out.
Mariposa is a favourite.
Unsure of IOU😭
Just beautiful♥️
My butterfly, can even be this tidy.
Freeze at your best.
the best track followed by flying high and southern freeze
To have the talent to do this arrangement and to then create one of electros seminal compositions, the extended version of IOU, shows real versatility
Funk at it's finest
Still sounding fresh and it reminds me of the debut album I have from incognito title incognito excellent album in my opinion jazz funk will never die
In fucking credible!!! This is so beautiful
This song just keeps on getting better and better
brilliant
My first time hearing this song. Loving the jazz/funk sound! Thanks 👍
Me too totally agree
from what i understand, the guy on keyboards played IOU pretty much live, under the direction of the producer...kudos to him
Thank you, thank you, thank you for upload this track!!!
Enjoy!
Love you Guys !!!! 😍😍😍😍

Nah man! That jam is still a ripper!
Not even the biggest oil spill in the world could be as slick as this.
Love this..😃
Amen!
Can anyone identify what bass guitar that is?
Pretty sure it’s an Aria SB but I can’t get a good enough view to see which model… 700 maybe??
Very Level 42.
I was expecting AEIOU!
You wouldn’t think it was the same band that did AEIOU and pop goes my love glad to say I still have this album
That was the cash grab tune. Still badass though in it;s own way.
